Anyone else notice that as you get older, your birthday becomes less about getting attention and presents, and more about appreciation for another year? I spent my birthday at work, shopping with my mom, and at softball practice. Overall it was perfect. Credits @smurray_32 ➖ A highly requested topic since everyone is back at school this week so let’s discuss. 🚨Don’t forget to peep yesterday’s new day of eating vid (link in bio👆🏼) ➖ Training splits: With a schedule like yours, a 4-day upper/lower (or even 3-day full body) split will likely be best as, not only will it allow for sufficient volume & frequency (Wernbom et al 2007, Calder et al 1994, Campbell et al 2002, Kraemer et al 2002) but on a time schedule like yours, allows for 3-4 entire days off in order to get homework/study/assignments done. Also, if running a 4-day split, 2 of the days could be performed on Sat & Sun when you are not in school thus leaving only 2 days (1 of which can be a Wed which is often a half day) where you have to fit training in & around a full school day. ➖ Training volumes: When on a tight time schedule, you need to work on the efficiency of your workouts. There is no reason for you to be in the gym for 3hrs in order to get an effective hypertrophic stimulus as, volumes as low as 4 sets/muscle/wk have still shown to result in significant hypertrophy (Schoenfeld et al 2016). Am I saying to workout at such low volumes? No, however ,the point is that you can still make noticeable gains from shorter, lower volume workouts. In fact, excessive volumes, although superior to a certain extent, have only shown to result in no further training induced stimulation of MPS (Ogasawara et al 1985) thus another reason why there’s little point in living in the gym. ➖ Training time: Although the option is there for you to get up at 6-7am and train before school starts, I would personally suggest you prioritise school and feeling “fresh” throughout the school day over f**king yourself early in the morning and feeling exhausted when trying to study/focus in class. Sleep + brain gains muscle gains. Therefore, for the majority of you, I would advise you train immediately AFTER school. In fact, studies do show that.... - @gym.ismotivation on Instagram

Keto Cloud Bread ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ☁️This fluffy versatile bread is perfect to whip up for breakfast lunch or dinner! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ❓Have you tried cloud bread? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✨Ingredients: 4 large eggs, separated ½ tsp cream of tartar 2 oz cream cheese ½ tsp garlic powder ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✨Directions: Preheat the oven to 320 °F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Separate the egg whites and egg yolks. In one bowl, blend together the egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff peaks form. In a separate bowl, blend the cream cheese to soften. Mix in the egg yolk, salt, and garlic powder until well incorporated. Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the yolk mixture making sure not to over-mix. Therefore, foods such as melons, protein fluffs, cauliflower etc can be great additions to your diet/meals in order to add minimal extra kcals but a load more bulk to fill up your stomach ➖ 🥣Oats: Fibre has shown to have a positive influence on reducing caloric intake, again likely due to increasing satiation (Keenan et al 2006). Therefore oats, which, on average, contain nearly 12g/100g, or any other high fibre food for that matter can be great options for making a diet feel easier ➖ 🥔White potatoes: In a study by Holt et al (1995), results showed boiled potatoes to rank the highest in terms of satiation out of 38 different foods followed by oatmeal (another benefit of oats), oranges & brown pasta. Deli meat - a quick and easy way to get in protein. Deli meat can be a little pricey per oz, but sometimes you just want a dang sandwich or need to cap off those protein macros for the day. It’s also a great option for travel. When I can find it, I buy the Applegate brand. IMO it’s worth the extra dollar or two knowing that the protein came from happy, sustainably raised sources and also lower-sodium and knowing I’m getting a quality product. Enchilada Verde Chicken Bake 12oz (360g) shredded chicken cooked 150g white onion diced 130g jalapeno pepper diced 2 cloves garlic minced 200g non fat greek yogurt 170g chive whipped cream cheese softened 6 white cheddar laughing cow wedges 1 packet uncle bens brown rice (microwaved) 75g salsa verde 100g queso (I used on the border white queso) 10oz can green enchilada sauce 1 tsp ranch seasoning 2 tsp taco seasoning .5 tsp pepper 1 tsp salt 28g pepper jack cheese shredded Cook jalapeno, onions, and garlic in a pan until softened and browned. Microwave rice packet as recommended on package. Combine all ingredients (besides pepper jack) and mix. Spread into a 9x13 pan lined with aluminum foil and cooking spray. Recipe👇Slow Cooker/Instant Pot Bolognese (Low-Carb, Paleo, Whole30) __ Creamy bolognese sauce with bacon. I served this over zoodles. Low-carb/keto you can substitute whipping cream for the coconut milk. More info👉 https://fitslowcookerqueen.com/easy-slow-cooker-bolognese/ (click link in profile). __ Slow Cooker/Instant Pot Bolognese 🔹Ingredients 2 lbs ground beef 4 ounces @nakedbaconco bacon 28-ounces crushed tomatoes 1 cup full-fat coconut milk 1 cup onion, diced finely 2 celery stalks, diced finely 2 carrots, peeled & diced finely 3 garlic cloves, minced 1 bay leaf 2 teaspoons oregano 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon basil 1/2 teaspoon pepper 🔹Instructions 🔻Slow Cooker: Cook & crumble bacon. In a large skillet, add ground beef and cook over medium-high heat until browned. Drain grease. Add the ground beef to the slow cooker along with the bacon. Add all remaining ingredients to the slow cooker. Stir to mix well. Cook HIGH 3-4 hours or low 6-8. Remove bay leaf & stir before serving. 🔻Instant Pot: Turn on the pressure cooker and select sauté. When hot, bacon and cook a few minutes until browned. Add ground beef, carrots, celery, and onions. Cook 5-7 minutes until beef is browned and vegetables are soft. Crumble the ground meat as it cooks. Add garlic and cook an additional minute. Drain excess grease from the pressure cooker if needed. Add oregano, salt, thyme, basil, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir to mix well. Pour crushed tomatoes on top. Top with bay leaf. Do not stir. Close lid and seal valve. Cook high pressure for 20 minutes. Natural release pressure for 5 minutes then quick release any remaining pressure. There is nothing better than a little comfort food 🤗 Try out this volume eating hack!🌻 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I made this burrito squash bowl the other night for dinner and it was honestly such a hit! I ran out of guacamole for the pic ( used all my avos for my breakfast pudding hehe) but its also delicious with a little guacamole 🥑 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I absolutely love a good burrito, and there is nothing wrong with having either of these options. 🤗I just find the option on the left often leaves me feeling bloated and sluggish! I also love that the option on the right adds in some extra fiber, veggies and the squash is honestly so filling! A great option if you’re gluten intolerant or trying to go grain free!!🙆‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Yes, I know that this is technically not an eat more for less post ( as the butternut & the burrito are technically a similar size). 😜BUT the best part about this is that you can eat your butternut burrito bowl and have a little dessert ( like my healthy choc chip cookies that are only 83 cals each) and STILL have less calories than the burrito🙆‍♀️🙆‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👈On the left we have one burrito. It has 1 tortilla, 1/2 cup refried beans, 1/4 cup corn, 3 tbsp sour cream, 3 tbsp guac, salsa, 1/2 cup cooked rice and 40g cheese. Coming in at around 614 calories. (PS: don’t shout at me for this burrito looking so sad! I didn’t make it 😂it was bought!) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👉On the right we have one of my butternut burrito bowls. I make it by slicing a butternut squash in half (around 280g per half) and taking the seeds out. I then bake in the oven ( i just put it in as is, no oil) at 180 degrees census until soft ( 20-30 mins). I then fill it with a mixture that i make in a pan by mixing 1/2 cup crushed tomatoes, 1 cup mushrooms, 1/2 cup kidney beans (canned), 1/4 cup diced green pepper, 1/4 cup corn, and 8g cheese. Flavour it with some sea salt, garlic & spices of choice. I then bake in the oven until cheese has melted and enjoy! That’s right....Bagel!!! You can eat bagels as a part of a healthy lifestyle. Here I have a Thomas’s 100% Whole Wheat Bagel. Instead of rice or raw oats, this is also another healthy complex carb. The bagel is 250 calories, but also has 11g Protein and 7g Fiber. These are great to have if you’re craving a bagel. Eat half the bagel if you’re on a lower calorie plan. You can fit these into your macros either way. On this bagel, I have 2 Tbs of Reduced Fat Garden Veggie Cream Cheese. Also a 4 Egg White Omelet with Chives and filled with 2.25oz Smoked Deli Ham. When I cook the ham first, it gives an even more smoky flavor and reminds me of bacon. Yum! Topped with 1/8 cup Reduced Fat Shredded Cheese. This breakfast perfectly fits my morning needs at 524 calories, 57g Carbs(7 fiber), 47g Protein and 12g Fat. What are you having for breakfast this morn??
