We’re open today from 11-6pm ☀️ • After this weekend our new hours moving forward will be Saturday 11-7 and Sunday 11-6. We will remain closed Monday through Friday. • Additionally, we’ve taken time to review the new indoor service guidelines and discuss our operational procedures with both the city and our staff. We’re allowed to continue indoor service of alcoholic beverages because our percentage of alcohol sales for 2019 was 37% of our gross receipts. Any licensed facility that grossed over 70% is required to move service outdoors for the time being. Since we’ve reopened, we have not allowed patrons to walk around the marketplace with alcoholic beverages. Adding to that policy, we will be enforcing additional measures to ensure we’re complying with the new indoor service guidelines. To order and consume an alcoholic beverage, our guests must take a seat and remain seated. We thank our guests in advance for their patience and understanding. Bottom line, offer grace and space to those around you—especially service staff. We’re here to welcome you while doing our part to implement ever-changing public-health guidelines. If you’re confused by any policy, just ask in a kind way and we’re happy to help. • Our bar is just a small part of the marketplace. Since we’ve reopened June 13th, our bar has grossed $2021.62. Our community of small businesses are the heart and soul of The Rust Belt. After pausing all rent for our vendors the entire time we were closed, we’ve charged only 50% since we reopened last month, while our landlords haven’t offered us any rent forgiveness. I share this to offer transparency and encourage you to support small, independent businesses whenever possible. Wrapped up my first week with @wildflowerbeer down here in Sydney a couple days ago, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with these amazing folks the next few months! The families and friends who make Wildflower what it is are some of the most welcoming, kind, and talented people I’ve met. . Highlights of the week consisted of choosing barrels for a blend of Amber, blending nectarine and pluot fruit beer for packaging, and racking young Gold beer atop pressed Mourvèdre skins and another small bit on top of pigface, a sweet, salty fruit which grows among the sand dunes and cliffs in eastern Australia. We packed a lotttt of orders to be shipped out from the brewery and I worked my first cellar door where I was able to meet some of the lovely people who visit the brewery each week. . Set in an industrial-chic space that pays homage to the neighborhood of Fort Points shipping and warehouse history, Trillium is considered one of the finest breweries in a city known for its breweries. Cool. So who’s there? The crowd skews a little junior—many young professionals work in this part of town—but anyone with an appetite for high-quality beer is welcome. In a single night, youre likely to see couples on dates, groups of colleagues unwinding after work, and neighborhood regulars stopping by to refill their growlers. Tell us about the beers. Any styles the brewery specializes in? All brewing takes place on-site in a mix of stainless steel barrels and traditional oak foeders. Trillium has won numerous awards and accolades over the years for its range of beers, especially its Double and Triple IPAs. The menu is a rotating blend of classics as well as experimental and seasonal offerings, all of which are only available for sale here (or at the brewerys other location in Canton, Mass.). The Congress Street IPA is a hit, but dont overlook the smaller-batch, seasonal offerings, like the blackberry, blueberry, and peach barrel-fermented wild ales. Sour beers, dark ales, pale ales, lagers, you name it: Theres something for every palate here. Worth ordering something to eat, too? The eats here blow most other brewery menus out of the water: poutine with a decadent duck gravy, a nicely curated New England cheese plate, and even a bone-in ribeye with hand-cut fries. Hows the service? Sometimes a brewerys staff can seem off-putting and pedantic if you dont present as someone who can easily recognize the difference between a Double and Triple IPA. Not the case here. So dont feel shy about asking for help as you consider what to order. Wrap it up: what are we coming here for? This is a near-perfect craft brewery that represents the best of Boston, both yesterday and today. Trillium is an essential stop for beer lovers of all tastes.
