I stayed up late last night drawing a little picture. First drawing I’ve done in a long time... maybe since the pandemic began. Things have felt so weird for so long, it was nice to do something that I love and find soothing but just haven’t been able to do for the last few months. Maybe I’ll draw another one tonight. . . . #penandink #stonehengepaper #uniballsigno #blackandwhite #doodle - @verityfreebern on Instagram

Throughout my career, science has always been an important source of inspiration. In science, as in art, there is not a straight line between an idea and a result. It is paradoxical how both disciplines, despite being very different from one to another and sometimes even antagonistic, complement and enrich each other in a fascinating process of interaction. My approach to science has a poetic point of view. I was captivated with the scientific instruments section at the Louvre Museum. Those instruments extracted from their historical context where they were created and placed in the museums showcases continue to transmit extensive information about human nature. They in themselves are a reflection of what we are, what are our needs and dreams, and what can we do to contribute to our society and our time. • Poetry of Science, 2010 Oil and watercolor pencil on canvas. This Thursday at 7.30 pm BST we’ll be holding Online Mini Golf with @annabruder and @arjimanuelpillai from interactive theatre and art company A Line Art ✨ A Line Art’s main aim is to inspire and encourage creative play. Anna and Arji have toured to The @southbankcentre, @barbican_theatre, @youngvictheatre and continue to create playful and immersive experiences. Read more about their installation A Line Florist ⁕: “A Line Florist offers tulips, roses and geraniums with a difference: theyre not the real, perishable kind, rather hand-drawn, hand-cut wooden versions made in Annas signature white backgrounds with black marker outlines. As well as the flowers, at A Line Florist you can request a poem, created on-the-spot by rapper, poet and performer Arji Manuelpillai. The flower comes lovingly wrapped up with your bespoke poetry. Perfect for any occasion.” The workshop will be on Zoom. Tickets to this event are only £5 and are available in the bio. On 26th November the poet, rapper and performer Arji Manuelpillai will be back with Arjis Playful Poetry Jam. Image credit: A Line Art - @antidotelondon on Instagram
