Smash half an avocado with a drizzle of olive oil and the juice of half a lime. 2. Add in a sliced spring onion, chopped fresh chilli (if you like the heat!) and some plum cherry tomatoes and season with salt & pepper to taste. 3. Toast your favourite bread! I love a slice of our homemade sourdough but a shop bought ciabatta is a great (and fancy tasting) alternative! 4. Fry an egg sunny side up - or poach if you prefer🍳 5. Mike. We spent years travelling and making music together. We lived in each other’s faces and shared little hotel rooms with tiny bathrooms, and I don’t recall one moment when you lost your cool with me. I loved playing music with you. Your drumming was sublime, and any musician who was fortunate enough to have you playing behind them sounded five times as good as they really were. You could play tenderly and soulfully. You could also make the kit sound like a thunder storm. Your ride cymbal gave me permanent tinnitus, but it’s ok, I was trying really hard to give you permanent tinnitus too. The ringing in my ears is just one of the ways you’ll live on now. I loved seeing the world with you. I was always enthralled by the very unique brand of mischief you’d get into, and was always happy to accompany you to whichever hospital or police station the situation might have called for. You were charming and hilarious. Over the years we amassed a library of in-jokes, indecipherable to the outside world. Just last week we exchanged a couple of them. What do I do with them now?
