Its the most liberal and inclusive of all Middle Eastern countrys due to the mixture of past trading, cultures, religions, and therefore, mindsets. Beirut was called ‘The Paris of the Middle East’ for a long time due to its modernized hustle and bustle. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2. It’s a tiny country. You can drive from the North to the South in about 3 hours. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3. Its located on the Mediteranean sea. Picturesque views are an understatement. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4. Its an ancient trading port, originally called Phoenicia. These photos make me happy and sad at the same time. Each with it own story. I took these photographs last week when we went for @byacbalochistan & @shaperskhi flood & covid relief food drives in some of the villages in central Balochistan. The adults couldn’t hide their vulnerability - quite obvious from their looks. Many houses have fallen in the aftermath of monsoon rains and floods, many were complaining that roads/bridges have been cut off and they can’t go to the nearby cities to earn their livelihoods. We had to get a high-rise car and go off-road for most of the time to avoid flood routes and broken bridges. Some of these children (swipe to the final photo), however were oblivious to those worries; they were living a moment at a time. When I asked them to smile for the camera, they just couldn’t hold their laughter. I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I say these are the sweetest smiles I have ever seen. Lui è il mio amico @carmelo_isgro Carmelo non è una persona ordinaria, non riesce mai a stare fermo e quando si mette in testa una cosa praticamente non c’è niente che possa fermarlo. Per darvi un’idea del suo potenziale vi dico che quattro anni fa un capodoglio si è spiaggiato a Capo Milazzo, era morto a causa di una rete illegale aggrovigliata alla pinna caudale e aveva diversi oggetti di plastica nello stomaco. Quella morte per Carmelo non doveva essere vana quindi decise di passare le successive due settimane a scarnificare l’animale per recuperarne le ossa. La sua idea era quella di ricreare lo scheletro dell’animale ed esporlo in un museo dedicato al mare che avrebbe creato nella sua città. Molti gli hanno dato del pazzo visionario ma la storia vuole che poco più di un anno dopo il @muma_milazzo non solo sia diventato realtà ma, grazie al contributo di tantissime persone che hanno messo a disposizione il loro talento, è diventato a mio parere uno dei musei dedicati al mare più belli mai creati. Quindi potete immaginare quanto io sia felice di fare proprio qui la seconda presentazione del mio libro, sotto lo sguardo del capodoglio Siso simbolo di quanto l’uomo può togliere ma anche dare indietro alla natura. Visto che Carmelo veramente non sa stare fermo, il giorno della presentazione, l’11 settembre, ha deciso di fare la traversata a nuoto dello stretto di Messina senza maschera e pinne ma trainando un bel mucchio di plastica. Beautiful Hokkaido❤️ We’ve travelled so much around japan and we’ve always felt that all the places are so similar to each other.. but Hokkaido! 🇯🇵 It is the Punjab of japan! Nasci católica mas ao longo da vida fui lendo e aprendendo muito sobre (e com) outras religiões. Yesterday I got a chance to visit the animal sanctuary and petting zoo @de_oosterhoeve managed and owned by @beinglauryn The animals there are so incredibly sweet and funny at the same time. Most of them have been rescued from being slaughtered, some of them were found with injuries lying on the side of the road. Each animal here has their own unique story and personality. Places like these are proof that animals can have a happy ending no matter how hard their beginnings were. They remind us that animals and humans can peacefully coexist without any kind of exploitation. Amigos, disculpen lo extenso de este post, pero me pareció adecuado contar mi experiencia ya que le puede servir a alguien para que en futuros viajes no sea sorprendido como yo. Lamentablemente tengo que contar que llegue a este seudo “centro de rescate temporal de animales” con engaños de un poblador quien me ofreció un tour cuando salía de mi hostel a un precio super barato que en principio no incluía este lugar. Cuando faltaba el último punto por visitar (pilpintuwasi), me dijo que por la distancia y falta de combustible no íbamos a llegar y que me podía llevar a otro lugar muy similar, me negué pero hubo demasiada insistencia y PRESION por su parte por lo que acepte ir. Lo que me dijo el señor que me guio durante el recorrido es que “SUPUESTAMENTE” reciben animales que se encuentran huérfanos y/o heridos para ser rehabilitados durante 4 a 7 meses y luego regresarlos a su hábitat. Al principio cuando me lo explico, lo creí y me deje llevar por la emoción porque no puedo negar que me encontraba fascinado por la ternura de este animalito, que creo se ve reflejada en esta foto.
