Here is Charlie’s recent post explaining the projects purpose and mission. ———— The fact of the matter is you can get your haircut anywhere. You can watch how I do it on YouTube, your partner can do it, or your can do it yourself. That’s not why people come to barber shops. People come to barbershops to decompress, to relieve stress, to catch their breath, especially now with all the waves of intensity. They come to be a part of the community. They come to feel good. We’ve been trained in disease and infection control. Naturally we’re pretty good at creating a space for people to feel heard, welcome, and safe. Our next step now is honing those skills professionally, and officially by partnering with other mental health care providers, as well as prehospital EMS. Even as I luxuriate in the glow of the deeply felt lessons of Court of the Empress, I can hear (feel) the Fallish rustlings of Restless Spirits. 👣 I am missing the home base of the Cult. How it would now be transformed into the autumn paradise that I sank into like a big cushioned couch, feet up, tea at my hand, and magick afoot. But this is no longer the way of things. And I feel the loss keenly. 👣 There is restlessness in the world. Restlessness in our communities. Restlessness in my home. Restlessness in my spirit. Restlessness in the Spirit World. 👣 At another time and another space I might have said that this theme would begin with finding Restlessness and feeding it/soothing it. 👣 But coming hot off the heels of the Court of the Empress, the medicine for me is to sit with it. My Restlessness comes from unsaid things. It comes from not allowing myself to respond honestly. It comes from fear that allowing gappiness (or possibly happiness) means that grievances cant be addressed. 👣 This season, I will not try to shift the energies around me. Instead I will honor them. For I have helped to call them in. I will give offerings to being unmet. I will give offerings to my doubt and discomfort. I will give offerings to the Restless Unseen and Untimely Dead. I will give offerings to choked out Nature Spirits. 👣 But not to soothe. To honor the existence as it is. To pay homage to the imperfect and unbalanced. Nature balances of her own accord. WE balance of our own accord. When the current state is acknowledged and honored, we are free to transform to another state. I texted him simply this “I got a new sticker idea, I know we talked about the others but Covid happened.
