Dont tell us we dont scrub up well! This weeks Thursday heritage post follows on from last week and looks at our Engine House. Were pleased to share these images from the Elle feature on the space, scroll through our feed if you want to see last weeks muckier beginning. Before Bill and I moved out of the Engine House, we cleared the whole space out for the aftershow party of the very first Sounds from the Other City. It seemed like every one of the 400 people who attended the first Sounds came to the afterparty and brought a friend (!). There was one toilet. It was mayhem, and in the best possible way. Andrew Brooks covered one of the huge walls of the Engine House with tarp and projected onto it, which caught the attention of the police, who came and were actually very nice and simply left again! It showed us the potential of parties at the Mill, and led to us starting the clubspace in the ground floor of the Mill shortly after. Katie and Jules lived at the Mill up until 2010ish. They became @thetingtings while there and wrote and recorded their number 1 selling album there. They adopted Abba the Mill house cat who was a feral kitten and only recently passed away late last year. Here are some pieces from Batman Returns. While working at Boss Films, you were routinely pulled from one project to another if deadlines loomed. Back then there was a lot more model work than now. I was pulled to work on a few parts of Batman Returns. We did a lot of buildings around Gothams plaza, including a couple of different scales of the Shreck building. I saved some unused castings of the small cat head building topper and the Shreck sign. But more interesting was the work I did with a couple of other people on the fall of Selina (Michelle Pfeiffer). The scene involves the character falling from the top of the Shreck building and crashing through several awnings (with the Shreck cat logo on them) and hitting the ground. The alley cats come out and revive her and Catwoman is born. We made all the miniature awnings she crashes through. Each was backed by thin lead sheet sliced into starburst pattern. Wires were attached to each end. Once they were attached to the Shreck building model, the motion control camera ran down the building and the wires pulled each tip of the lead sheet, tearing open the pre cut awning fabric. Haverikommissionen är den statliga förvaltningsmyndighet som genomför undersökningar av allvarliga olyckor. 🛳 De publicerade bilderna på Estonia påstås nu visa ett cirka fyra meter avlångt hål på styrbords skrov. 🛳 Det är anledningen till varför alla pratar om Estonia just nu. 🛳 Margus Kurm, före detta statsåklagare i Estland, påstår att det är en svensk ubåt som kolliderat med Estonia – och att svenska myndigheter mörkat detta. Nu kräver Estlands premiärminister Jüri Ratas att det görs en ny utredning och nya dyk. 🛳 Utredare som deltog i Haverikommissionen uppger att det på 90-talet inte fanns något hål i skrovet. Timothy Ray Brown, who made history as “the Berlin patient,” the first person known to be cured of HIV infection, has died. He was 54. Brown died Tuesday at his home in Palm Springs, California, according to a social media post by his partner, Tim Hoeffgen. The cause was a return of the cancer that originally prompted the unusual bone marrow and stem cell transplants Brown received in 2007 and 2008, which for years seemed to have eliminated both his leukemia and HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. - @fox61news on Instagram
