I love the metaphysics behind mastitis “Milk flows - when our tears flows” ⠀ ⠀ In no particular order / these are some natural ways to support Mastitis. ⠀ ⠀ ~ try & lie with baby as long as possible, skin to skin, allow unrestricted access to the breasts, rest as much as you can. Em meio ao êxtase por parir em casa e quebrar todos os protocolos do sistema, eu jamais imaginara que o mais difícil estava por vir. Por volta das 21h30 já estávamos no outro quarto. Imprinting 💦 Ainda não tinha parido a placenta, eu sentia o cordão pulsando em minhas pernas, nos envolvendo como laço que jamais será desfeito. Te coloquei no peito. Eu achava que sabia! Eu acreditava que só bastava colocar no peito e tudo fluiria. Eu estava muito enganada. Naquele dia começaria a nossa saga que durou EXATOS 54 DIAS. Eu jamais me esquecerei desse número. Foram 54 dias de tortura, de negação, de não me aceitar por não saber amamentar, de dedicação, de muita DOR. Mesmo com o mundo contra, eu jamais te ofereci qualquer outro alimento, filha. Eu não desisti. Eu sabia que ia me superar. Era difícil vê-la chorando e gritar junto quando ela grudava em meu peito! Era um misto de leite, sangue e lágrimas, literalmente. Um mamilo que quase necrosou, uma mente que não estava saudável, uma mãe que só queria ser capaz de nutrir sua cria sem dor. Eu me questionava todos os dias se aquela tortura iria passar. As inúmeras idas à Santa Monica eram em vão. Porque lá eu me sentia segura, eu aprendia. E ao cruzar a porta de vidro eu desaprendia tudo. O que faltava? MENTE SÃ! Foram 54 dias, quase DOIS MESES com o mamilo lacerado, aberto, sangrando, purulento, e no 55° dia, como mágica, nos conectamos. E, mais uma vez, vencemos o sistema. Then.... Now. 11 years. Emilee Micah has been possibly the most prayed-for baby in our family. After 3 miscarriages, a complicated and unsure pregnancy, a very early and traumatic birth, a 45 day NICU stint (while recovering from a Csection with Matt on tour, and a 4 year old at home .... 😰), and some even-still lingering consequences of prematurity and delayed neural development - this girl has been DILIGENTLY prayed for! But we get to see firsthand how the Lord is answering our prayers. We get to experience and witness what a compassionate, loving, intelligent, strong, creative, talented, sensitive, hilarious, beautiful young lady she’s absolutely growing up to be. As I witnessed my younger self I started to pick apart my current self. Then began the torrent: “My younger self seemed thinner? More toned? - Everyone meet Leo. He was removed from the adoption room at the shelter and listed as very feral so they pulled him so my sister-in-law could foster. He spit, he hissed, tried to bite and hid for a solid week but hes a sweetheart now.
Life has thrown us a curve ball and nothing could have prepared me for this level of pure bliss and staggering exhaustion. I’ve been living in my bedroom now for an uncertain number of days trying to make sense of these heavenly moments; grasping onto them like sand running through my hands. Through the blur of it all, I am practicing patience and compassion for myself, for my older son Hudson adjusting to the change, and learning to let go of everything out of my control. No matter how hard the journey gets, I feel complete knowing that these twins chose me to be their mommy. Every passing hour we are growing and learning together. Every feed is a little more successful than the last because we are embracing flexibility. #fedisbest The teamwork I’ve established with their daddy has given me the needed confidence to press on the unpredictable road ahead. It’s been scary and so very real with emotions running all over the place. My life is forever changed, and I’m navigating a very liberating acceptance with that. Η φωτογραφία που επέλεξα να ανεβάσω είναι για μένα πολύ σημαντική και ελπίζω να γίνει και για σας. Στη φωτογραφία αυτή λοιπόν, μόλις έχω επιστρέψει από την παράσταση που έπαιζα κάθε Παρασκευοσαββατοκύριακο στην Θεσσαλονίκη. Επειδή το μωρό μου ήταν μόλις 3 μηνών, ταξιδεύαμε μαζί κάθε εβδομάδα για 3 περίπου μήνες για να μην κόψω το θηλασμό. Κάθε βράδυ λοιπόν που επέστρεφα στο δωμάτιο του ξενοδοχείου από τη δουλειά, έβγαζα γάλα με το θήλαστρο για να έχει το μωρό μου να πιει όταν εγώ έλειπα στη δουλειά. Εδώ να σημειώσω πως έβγαζα γάλα και κατά τη διάρκεια της παράστασης για να μπορέσω να συμπληρώσω τα απαραίτητα ml. Σε αυτή τη φωτογραφία η μικρή μου ξύπνησε τη στιγμή που έβγαζα γάλα με το θήλαστρο κι έτσι τη θήλασα καθώς ταυτόχρονα ετοίμαζα και το γεύμα της για την επόμενη νύχτα.
