I’ve spent a bit of time since March crying and sleeping. It’s not so much fun but honestly I’m grateful for it. MAYBE CRYING IS GOOD?? Maybe let’s get it all out... maybe there’s joy and strength waiting that were held prisoner behind the wall of “I’m fine” 💕 Everyone handles things differently and maybe that includes different us’s. The world can be so heartbreaking and it can feel like we can never do enough and it all feels so uncertain. But if you’re someone who usually can’t stop working fixing doing (like meee) until you’re forced to, it turns out rest and tears might be just the thing. For years I just felt I couldn’t. I held on so tight to my to do list so I could keep going keep going keep going. I allowed myself a few select limited outlets for my feelings - 1 hour yoga, 30 minute journaling. My allotted feelings schedule 😆 No wonder I could never sleep. My feelings and body had so much to shout at me at a time when they hoped they wouldn’t be interrupted. Thank goodness my spinal injury forced me to listen. If you’re wondering why you can’t get anything done even tho you really really want to - OR maybe why you can’t stop and rest, maybe your body is telling you it wants something else. than this. you are a full human and your body knows a lot. Мы поняли, что иногда одна вещь может быть функциональнее и нужнее двадцати прочих. ⠀ НОВОЕ ОТНОШЕНИЕ К ПРИРОДЕ. Запертые в четырёх стенах, мы как как никогда переоценили значение природы и воздуха в нашей жизни. С каждым годом быт становиться все более ультрасовременным - из него часто исчезают натуральные материалы, растительность, природные текстуры. Тем не менее, тенденции в интерьере говорят нам о плавном перетекании дачно-садовых решений в квартиры - и это вполне ожидаемо. Если раньше интерьерами «правила» классика в сочетании с минимализмом, то сегодня дома и квартиры постепенно захватывает экодизайн - с уверенным взглядом на высокотехнологичные решения. ⠀ Важность ПЕРЕРАБОТАННЫХ МАТЕРИАЛОВ. Fair glacier ✅!! This was such a perfect route to wrap up our time in Colorado. With a great group and a weather window, we were able to ski this beautiful line in near perfect conditions. With not much steep skiing experience I was pretty nervous, but the snow was perfect and the descent was so fun! After the rest of the team headed home to avoid a rainy hike out, @thegreenevan and I stayed one more night and were rewarded with a gorgeous, snowy evening and a bonus few turns down to Crater Lake. The hike out was wet and brutal with heavy packs, but absolutely worth it! Let’s talk about “bikini body ready” Here I am in a bikini, unedited, unfiltered, unposed, relaxed in my natural state. First of all, never in a million years did I think I would ever post a picture like this but here we are.(posting this is very scary for me, I don’t like showing off my natural body) There’s this perception about what size we should be in order to wear things.I used to try to defy that rule by wearing a bikini, only to end up spending the day at the beach w my shirt on. I was so ashamed of my body shape and that fact that my stomach wasn’t flat, I felt that I needed to cover up those parts. I also was worried about making people uncomfortable. I read this article recently called “why Lizzo’s body makes me uncomfortable.” It spoke about how people are uncomfortable seeing bodies that aren’t accepted as beautiful by society and so her intent is to make people uncomfortable, until it’s normalized. It was really eye opening for me. As a girl with a bigger belly, I’m trying to be more comfortable w not only letting myself see my body as it is, but other people . I look at it like this: if I wear my bikini at the beach without care, I hope a girl who struggles in her body sees me and finds the confidence to follow and show of hers next time. It takes time to feel comfortable in your body, but it won’t come by hiding it for years. I just took off my shirt one day and realized it wasn’t as scary as it seemed. Plus, people are usually too distracted with themselves to even pick at your body Body diversity is real and it’s beautiful. Everyone is deserving of living in their body at any size. And every body deserves to be in a bikini at the beach. Your belly is beautiful and normal. I wanted to shoot Yuki’s run-in wide and his Indy with my long lense so I had that camera ready to go on top of my camera bag. Yuki comes mobbin in, I turn to shoot with my wide angle, catch my eye on the perfectly reflected qp in the ND filter of my long lense, boom..bailed on the long lense shot and this is what I got instead. Thought it was worth a quick story, plus I wanted to post the raw photo so you could see what I saw. Confession. We are just two months into the new decade and I’ve already posted half as many photos as I did all of 2019. It’s been almost a decade since I first picked up a camera and most of my life has centered around capturing moments and telling stories ever since. But as for social media and this chase for approval and likes. Well it all just became overwhelming. From the “is this photo good enough to post”, to hashtags, algorithms, and let’s not forget the catchy caption. I pretty much just stopped posting because that isn’t why I started. I started because I wanted to tell my story through my eyes and that’s what I plan to do again. Yeah I’ll still add in a couple hashtags and sometimes have a catchy caption but only if it feels right. Some post might not say anything at all and the images will simply speak for themselves. I guess what I’m really trying to say is just be nice and live your life today because tomorrow could be to late. Always flip over the ropes, never duck them! Took a last minute solo trip to Utah in late January. Worked till 10pm packed my shit and drove 7 hours to Brighton. I slept in the Brighton parking lot for a solid 2 hours and woke up to a fresh 9” of powder. Your damn right I got first chair. Spent 3 days at Brighton 1 day at solitude and 1 day at Snowbird. Living with depression is hard, but we 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 it’s also hard for those who love us. For our significant others, our friends and family.. it can be hard to watch someone you love suffer from depression, most times it’s difficult to understand how to help and what to do. Depression is a very selfish illness and I find that often we can push those that love us away in order to protect them. I always feel guilty and in fear of letting people down so I find myself wanting to spending a lot of my time alone. I have to constantly remind myself and today remind you that you are not alone!
