We must all support healthy solutions and protesting. We must all empathize with the unimaginably difficult life challenges that our friends, neighbors, family members, students, teachers, coworkers etc endure on a daily basis. There is no way a white person could ever understand what it feels like to be discriminated against or profiled on a daily basis, let’s be straightforward with acknowledging that privilege. But if you are white, you can empathize and you can educate yourself. The issue is not black vs blue. It’s racism. Let’s address it for what it is - the issue is racism. And it exists. It exists in our own communities. At the sacrifice of another life, it has proven again to exist in our policing. We must all do better. We must all encourage each other to do better. I do not need to be in downtown to share my voice. I encourage others to share their voice on their social platforms as well to demand the issue of racism to end. We must all speak up. We must all demand this to end. I can’t imagine the pain, hurt, frustration, confusion and brokenness that you must feel. I feel immensely saddened watching a video of a grown man in tears begging a younger man to “do better”. I am so saddened for the family and loved ones of George Floyd. My long-time friend and filmmaker Deborah Stile, and I have started production on a documentary about September 11th, 2001. I lived within walking distance of The World Trade Center. After receiving a call from my photojournalist friend Lilly Echeverria saying there had been a plane crash in lower Manhattan, I grabbed my camera gear and all available film, and I ran towards the burning buildings with the first responders. I witnessed firsthand all the incredible work these true American heroes did that day, sacrificing everything to help their fellow New Yorkers. It was the most consequential day of my life and career as a photographer. In preparation for some upcoming exhibitions and speaking engagements about my images from that day, I’m finally realizing my nearly twenty-year dream to make a film about this event. Our focus is to find the people in my photographs or their families to interview them about their lives and experiences before, during, and after that fateful day. Firefighters have answered over 60 calls for service in the last two days including this motor vehicle fire on Tuesday morning in West Hanover Square. This fire occurred at the same time crews were responding to a medical emergency in Town. The Department has seen a continued increase in multiple/simultaneous calls over the previous three years. Over that same time period, our reliance on mutual aid has declined. This is largely a result of enhanced staffing of on-duty shifts made possible by the SAFER Grant. Our Clayton firefighters and their families need your prayers and support. Six months into the pandemic and COVID-19 finally came knocking at our fire house door. About two weeks ago, a firefighter didn’t feel well and let us know immediately. We had daily been disinfecting the station and equipment, but social distancing isn’t always easy to do when responding to emergencies or living together under one roof. Many don’t realize our firefighters respond to more than just fires, in fact, they respond mostly to medical calls and car accidents, including going into homes and coming into close contact with patients who may have COVID-19. Health officials haven’t been able to help us trace exactly how our first firefighters were infected, but as of this morning, 17 Clayton firefighters have tested positive and three of them are now in the hospital. That’s why we need your thoughts and prayers more than ever. Firefighters are family and they also consider the community their family. We can’t name the employees at this time, but we can tell you their loved ones are worried and hurting. Right now, the families haven’t asked for anything specifically – only to know their community is behind them and holding them up their prayers. The firefighters who remain working are hurting too…they’re covering for their fire brothers and sisters, gladly filling in shifts, and they haven’t missed a single beat in responding to calls. But the normal comradery enjoyed in this high-risk, stress-filled occupation has now turned to isolation. They don’t eat at the table together anymore – they eat alone. Only one bed to a room. They disinfect daily and wear N95 masks. We aren’t saying this to garner sympathy or to bring unwanted attention to our fire families, but simply for the public we serve to know – we’re taking all the necessary precautions to prevent further spread, to stay healthy and to remain ready to respond when you need us most. Our motto: “Providing Prompt Professional Services with Pride! Полицейские начали защищать нас и на его полемику «Как вы можете защищать их? Они извращенки!» полицейский уверенно сказал: «моя работа защищать всех, у нас нет никаких предубеждений». ⠀ Тогда я восприняла это как должное, и только на следующий день, вспомнив полицейского и его фразу я осознала, насколько она была сильной. Я вспоминаю это и меня переполняет гордость. Гордость за мою страну, гордость за себя и каждую активистку и активиста, которые вкладывали массу усилий годами ради того, чтоб общество стало непредвзятым и толерантным. Со словами этого полицейского я почувствовала что наша революция свершилась и я плачу от гордости и радости. You don’t have to be any certain color to feel outraged. In response to the crowd chanting “Black Lives Matter,” anti-protesters screamed “All lives matter,” as if it were a discussion. all lives don’t matter until people realize the value of black lives. These protests were marches both days, and were peaceful until @lvmpd set up barricades to stop us. They were ordered to stand still quietly until they were obstructed. It was then the people continued using their freedom of speech, from the crowd people were throwing water bottles (possibly the anti-protesters instigating) and asked to stop by the crowd, the line of officers took this as a threat and started bum rushing us. Anybody that rightfully stood their ground, got arrested or resisted. This was when the tear gas got shot out, and immediately after while people COULD NOT see or walk, rubber bullets (size of tin cans) started getting shot, it was only on the first day they came from both directions to trap us. Big media corporations can’t villainize this movement as easily as they were able to years ago, everybody didn’t have a camera to show how these police acted the way they did, and still do. Covid_19 adds a new dimension of risk to the job for firefighters - both on and off the front lines. Fire crews are already armed with significant personal protective equipment while theyre battling active fires which includes gloves, face and neck shrouds, and protective eyewear. When they are at base camps, firefighting personnel are required to wear face masks and maintain physical distancing. Meals are staggered to keep crews separated, and everyone gets regular temperature checks. The crews, which number in the hundreds, would ordinarily set up base camp on small grounds near the fires, but due to COVID-19 concerns, they are housed in hotels or set up on vacant fairgrounds outfitted with several hand-washing stations. #jawab چند لمحوں کی تسکین میں سب سے بڑا مقام انا کی تسکین کو حاصل ہے جس کے خمار میں غرق انسان اپنے اندر ایک غرور اور تمکنت محسوس کر رہا ہوتا ہے اور اس محسور کن کیفیت سے لطف اندوز ہوتے ہوئے مخمور ہوتا چلا جاتا ہے۔ مگر ایک بات سے بے خبر رہتا ہے کہ اس خمار کی شدت زائل ہونے کے بعد تقویت شدہ اضطراب ابھرے گا۔ ٹھیک ویسے ہی جیسے تلخیوں سے مضطرب انسان حصول طمانیت کیلیے نشہ کرتا ہے اور اس نشے کے خمار میں خود کو زمان و مکاں سے بالا تصور کر رہا ہوتا ہے مگر اس نشے کا اثر زائل ہوتے ہی ان تلخیوں میں احساس ندامت کا اضافہ ہو چکا ہوتا ہے جو اس انسان کو مزید مضطرب کر دیتی ہے۔ گناہ و ثواب کا معاملہ تو انسان اور رب کا معاملہ ہے۔ اور رب نے انسان کے لیے توبہ کی راہ بھی بہت آسان رکھی۔ اور اس کے قبول ہو جانے پر دل میں سکون بھی اتار دیا کرتے ہیں۔ وہ تو الْغَفُورُ و الشَّكُورُ ہیں، الرَّحْمَنُ و الرَّحِيمُ ہیں۔ مگر انا پرستی، غرور اور تکبر تو انسانوں سے معاشرت میں جنم لیتے ہیں ۔ اس کا حصار بھی انسانوں سے معاملات میں کھینچا جاتا ہے۔ اور پھر انسانوں میں تو اکثر اتنا ظرف نہیں پایا جاتا کہ انا پرست انسان کے اس انا کے خمار سے نکل آنے کے بعد اس کے مزید مضطرب ٹوٹتے بدن پر ترس کھائیں۔ یہ چند لمحوں کا غرور اور انا کی تسکین ہمارے وجود کو مزید کھو کھلا کر کے ہمیں ہمارے ہی وجود کے کھنڈرات میں اس بے بےرحمی سے پٹختی ہے کہ ہمارے لیے اپنے ہی وجود کو سمیٹنا دشوار ہو جاتا ہے۔ اور انسانوں سے رحم کی اپیل تو بے سود معلوم پڑتی ہی ہے، مگر وہ بھی ناپسندیدگی اور لا تعلقی کا اظہار کرتے نظر آتے ہیں جن کے رحم کے سمندر لا انتہا ہیں۔ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يُحِبُّ مَنْ كَانَ مُخْــتَالًا فَخُــوْرَۨا بیشک اللہ تکبر کرنے والے اترانے والے کو پسند نہیں کرتا۔ النساء 36 تحریر: عاطر علی سید - @atiralisyed on Instagram

Moin Moin, Da bin ich mal wieder. 🙃 Bald ist es soweit. Termine stehen und es ist schon fast alles für das große Shooting im Oktober geplant. Hoffen wir mal, dass mir nicht wieder ein Strich durch die Rechnung gemacht wird. 🙈 2 Monate volle Planung und ganz vorbei ist es auch noch nicht. Ich freue mich, dass mein Konzept welches ich bei den Firmen vorgestellt habe, so gut angekommen und auch angenommen wurde. Nun ist es noch knapp Monat hin. Es gibt 6 Hauptmodels und 8 Statisten für den Hintergrund. Das wird vielleicht ein logistischer Aufwand 🙈 Das ganze Shooting geht 3 Tage lang und das Ziel ist es, so viele verschiedene Szenarien wie möglich darzustellen.
