This plan came together pretty slick! I wanted to add some stiffness to the rear brake without messing around with an additional spring on the brake pedal like on a normal setup. Bronze lurs from Revheim. This is the only whole pair of bronze lurs found in Norway. Many have been found in Denmark, where this pair might have come from. On that very thought, we created an artwork titled “Don’t Go Quiet.” The upside-down flag symbolizes a country in distress. Going back to what I’ve mentioned in the previous posts about the origins of my interest in synths, and the motivation behind my collection, all being rooted in the 1970s music of my musical hero @herbiehancock… like the Oberheim, the ARP 2600 was always going to be central to that vision. It was a key element of Hancock’s music from the earliest beginnings of him using synths (e.g. the Sextant album, before Head Hunters). I’ve dreamed of owning one for years, and that finally came true last year with this beauty from @tonetweakers. It’s an amazing piece of early synth engineering (first introduced in 1971), and is one of the genuine classics. It has an amazing huge tone, which is given extra character by the built in mechanical spring reverb. It’s an unruly beast to tame - quite raw and full of character. The 2600 bridged the gap between huge modular synths that took up a room (like the ARP 2500) and new smaller, portable options like the Mini Moog (released the same year). There are some synths that I feel I know pretty fully, like the Oberheim Four Voice or Juno 6, and then some where I feel I have a lot more to discover and have only scratched the surface of what they can do. The 2600 is in the latter category (it took me about half a day when I first got it to work out how to get a sound out of it!). I’ve used it on the score for #wehunttogether, and as the basis for the theme for the @rainbow6game_us event #TheGrandLarceny, but I plan on delving much deeper into its possibilities in the future. Behringer and Korg have both released replicas recently, but this one’s the real deal. Some good progress on my 4AGE motor build over at Club DSPORT. The head has been ported and given a Newen Valve job. New valve seats have been installed that will handle extra heat from the NOS I’m going to run. The Newen unshrouds the valve in the chamber for better flow. This machine served at TRD for 8 years performing valve jobs on various race winning engines. Now it’s at Club DSPORT! My custom pistons from @jepistons came in and the bottom end will also have @runbc crank and rods. Yevgenia Baras at the Landing. 👆Check out a walk through on our IGTV. 👀 Per the PR: “Baras embeds material within her paintings, which builds up the surfaces of her works in organic raised hills, creating picture planes that sometimes bring to mind swaths of land seen from above. Baras coats the materials she will embed—which include wood, paper pulp and yarn—in oil before she incorporates them into the internal workings of her paintings. She calls the process of building these unique, raised surfaces “drawing in relief.” Explains the artist, “I want the paintings to have a profile. I want three-dimensionality always.” The embedded materials sometimes include talismans of private significance to Baras: things she has collected or lived with. Due to COVID there was a worldwide shortage of head studs for the DAZA block so our IMS1100 build was put on hold. We finally received a shipment from @dpengineparts after the customer @blackrs3dxb got some custom made. We have just mocked up the turbo & manifold from @irozmotorsport and I think the pictures speak for themselves. The engine will be rebuilt and put back in the car over the next few weeks whilst the final shipment with the dual fuel pumps & @syvecs_ltd ECU are sent. Then we can play! Recently sold a piece from my Conundrum series from 6 years ago. Thanks @rotofugi for keeping my work in rotation. 1,2,3 are still available.
