My aunt, Marion Hochar Ibrahimchah, the youngest sister of my mother has died as an innocent victim in her Beirut home during the August 4 explosion. Marion deserved to live longer, she was such a fun, loving & witty mother, wife, friend, sister, aunt & so much more. Like many fellow lebanese citizens she believed in this country, and she hoped for a change. Alevi Turkmen are a religious minority of Turkey who practice Alevism. There are Alevi Kurds as well but majority Alevis are Turks. Most Alevi Turkmen identify as Muslim, and view Alevism as a sect of Islam, similar to Shias. Alevi Turkmen are mostly indigenous to central Anatolia, especially in and around the province of Sivas. Both the Ottoman Empire as well as Turkey has a history of persecuting it’s Alevi minority. They have suffered through countless massacres throughout history, and still experience a certain level of discrimination, mostly in the form of harmful stereotypes. But Alevi Turkmen have a very deep and rich culture, which they have managed to preserve through so many years of suppression, and have made great contributions to Turkish culture overall. Pembaptisan Polandia adalah nama tradisional pembaptisan pangeran Polandia, Mieszko I , yang memprakarsai proses Kristenisasi di tanah Polandia.Seperti yang tadi dikatakan, peristiwa ini juga dianggap sebagai peristiwa simbolis yang merupakan awal dari negara Polandia dan Gereja Katolik Polandia . Menurut banyak anggapan, tahun terjadinya pembaptisan ini adalah pada tahun 966, meskipun anggapan ini tidak pasti. . Kemungkinan, pada tahun 964, Mieszko memulai negosiasi dengan penguasa Ceko Bolesław I the Harsh. Akibatnya, pada 965, Mieszko menikahi putri Bolesław yaitu Dobrawa Przemyślidka, yang juga disebut sebagai Dąbrówka. Setelah pernikahan, langkah yang dilakukan Mieszko adalah pembaptisan. Tempat pembaptisan tidak diketahui, mungkin saja salah satu kota Kekaisaran Romawi Suci, misalnya Regensburg , tetapi mungkin juga Poznań, Ostrów Lednicki, atau Gniezno . Ada anggapan bahwa orang Ceko menerima baptisan tersebut adalah untuk menghindari ketergantungan Polandia dari Reich Jerman karena Ceko tidak memiliki organisasi gereja sendiri sampai 973. . Baptisan Mieszko I memprakarsai proses Kristenisasi, yang pada tahun-tahun berikutnya membuat kemajuan besar dan menyebabkan mayoritas penduduk tanah Polandia mengadopsi agama Kristen. Keberhasilan Kristenisasi terbukti permanen, dan Katolik menjadi agama kebanyakan orang Polandia hingga hari ini. Sebagai hasil dari pembaptisan sang pangeran, sebuah gereja klasik didirikan di wilayah negara Polan.
