Relaxing massages and spa treatments could soon be an option for tourists serving two-week quarantine in the Land of Smiles. ⠀ Health officials announced that adding such facilities popular among foreign tourists could help boost the local economy while killing tourist boredom during their mandatory two-week isolation — a requirement for a Special Tourist Visa that tourists can apply to stay in the kingdom for up to nine months. ⠀ Tourists under quarantine may also be treated to homegrown local products and food at approved spa and massage parlors, according to Thares Krasnairawiwong, director of Health Service Support Department. ⠀ Similar to those held for quarantine at hotels, Thares told reporters that guests serving “their time” at such parlors would be tested for COVID-19 at least twice during their stay. He cited that such places must be spacious, have divided rooms, and obtain consent from the local community for granting health official approval. Poppy my other furbaby and I love him dearly, Teddy has had a few challenges with walking on the lead, high levels of anxiety and communication issues. Teddy is blind in one eye and deaf. What I can say is that it has been a tough road for Teddy but day by day he is doing much better. Teddy is learning to recognise signs to stop, come, happy/cuddle time and food so far. Teddy is sleeping all night in his own bed now. So things haven’t been that great on the farm the last bit. So I thought I’d find a funny farming quote to have a laugh at. I then came across this quote and it punched me in the face and 180’ed my whole thought process! We have been trying to get to the position we are currently in for the past 20 odd years. Through all the ups, downs mistakes (you know how it is!) we could start to see our end goal. But the last two seasons not a lot (nothing🤪) has quite gone to plan! When you think antibiotics, you think they’re a good thing … right? Well … there’s a bit of a dark side to them. Antibiotics destroy your dog’s intestinal flora. And research shows that much of the beneficial bacteria in the gut is destroyed forever … even if you give your dog probiotics after antibiotic use. Dr Martin Blaser of Langone Medical Center says … “Early evidence from my lab and others hints that, sometimes, our friendly flora never fully recover. These long-term changes to the beneficial bacteria within people’s bodies may even increase our susceptibility to infections and disease. Overuse of antibiotics could be fuelling the dramatic increase in conditions such as obesity, type 1 diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, allergies and asthma, which have more than doubled in many populations.” Previous studies looked at farm animals and antibiotic use. They showed increased antibiotic resistance in animals who take the drugs. This resistance also extended to the people who worked on the farms where those animals live. Even when farmers stop using the drugs … resistance persists for years. That’s because mothers pass drug-resistant flora down to their offspring for generations. It isn’t just about animals. Overuse of antibiotics has caused antibiotic-resistant disease in people too. So now there are serious infections that antibiotics can’t handle. Even the CDC recognizes this problem. And these aren’t the only problems with antibiotics. Anti = Suppression Whenever you use an “anti-” drug, you’re suppressing your dog’s symptoms. It may temporarily resolve your dog’s problem. But suppression can drive the disease deeper. And it often comes back later … sometimes in a worse form. So it’s best to save antibiotics for serious, even life-threatening illnesses. Thankfully … not every situation calls for antibiotics. And there are some GREAT alternatives. Ones that will help your dog avoid immune system complications.
