The Orion Nebula (also known as Messier 42, M42, or NGC 1976) is a diffuse nebula situated in the Milky Way, being south of Orions Belt in the constellation of Orion. It is one of the brightest nebulae, and is visible to the naked eye in the night sky. The band crosses left to right bottom right while Andromeda is sitting top left. I also worked again on Mars. You still find blues and purples in the goldenest, prettiest of sunsets, dont you? Even in the softest most calming winds you hear the saddest melodies. You still feel cold in the softest of sunlights, the coziest sweaters. You know what is more tragic? You feel cold in summer nights too. You hear more tragedies of how two lovers couldnt make it in love than those who did. But arent they more believable? Two people immensely in love but so far away, lonely but in love. You walk more in autumn and less in spring.You see more flowers fallen and dead than blooming and alive, the prettiest of them you ask? The ones you find in old lost books, all dried up but beautiful. You feel that way, dont you? I dont blame you, i did too, all my life, I still do now, more than ever. It was yesterday when i read poetry about separation and about love that was thriving and was the most innocent, calming but the one that couldnt make it, i felt the most connected to it, i wanted to know what happened, did they make it? Do they ever? as if i could feel what the poet felt, what he felt when he held the pen with the weakest of hands, putting it down more than a few times because he thought these words arent doing justice to the pain he is feeling, but i think i felt his words, more immensely than what i feel when two people make it in love. When i see sunsets now, since the last couple of months, i see the blues and purples, the possibilities of separation, of me not only feeling sad poetry but writing my own. I am so so in love, the dark colors, the autumn wind is i think the uncertainty, the fear of not making it, to end up in tragedies and not in the calmest chapters. Although it dominates in this image, this galaxy is a small player on the cosmic stage and is known as a dwarf elliptical galaxy. As the dwarf moniker suggests, the galaxy is on the smaller side, and boasts a mere 100 million to a few billion stars — a very small number indeed when compared to the Milky Ways population of around 250 billion to 400 billion stellar residents. Took 5 attempts of stargazing at sunset and waking up at 4:30am to catch a glimpse at sure Rise. But I finally found and snapped some pictures of Comet Neowise this morning! Had about 15 minutes of visibility to observe it. . 🔵 Up and Over • ▶️ Every now and then, the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope glimpses a common object — say, a spiral galaxy — in an interesting or unusual way. A sharply angled perspective, such as the one shown in this Picture of the Week, can make it seem as if we, the viewers, are craning our necks to see over a barrier into the galaxys bright centre. . ▶️ In the case of NGC 3169, this barrier is the thick dust embedded within the galaxys spiral arms. Cosmic dust comprises a potpourri of particles, including water ice, hydrocarbons, silicates, and other solid material. It has many origins and sources, from the leftovers of star and planet formation to molecules modified over millions of years by interactions with starlight. . ▶️ NGC 3169 is located about 70 million light-years away in the constellation of Sextans. I seem to have a cycle where I feel bad every fourth day, so drew this on a hopeful one and then coloured it in feeling more disillusioned. I’m scared that nothing will really change from this like increased global awareness of what a precarious position so many people are in, our economy is in, the whole world seems to be in.
