SITTING is NOT necessarily the new smoking... this is for all of you working from home right now! 👩🏼‍💻 . It is so wonderful that your company may have invested in a standing desk for you but, be cautious of standing for 8+ hours a day too. Staying in one position for hours on end is not ideal but that applies to all positions whether that’s sitting, or standing. There’s a reason why patients need to be moved hourly in health care settings. Our bodies are not meant to be in the same position, mix up your sitting position, sit on a ball ( my favourite is @venndesign ) alternate standing and sitting & get up to move every hour! . These photos are a little throw back when I was able to be in gyms. Since I travel between clients, I am often doing some admin or updating programs on the fly. 🤙🏼 Ideally I have a cushion and a yoga mat and prop up my laptop so it’s in line with my gaze, but here I’m just making do for a few minutes in each position. 👊🏼 . The court hearing with World Athletics starts on July 13th 🙏🏽 I would love to see @leepster run in the upcoming Olympic Games. Clearance from World Athletics doesn’t guarantee a spot in the Olympics, but it does give him the opportunity to run in the Olympic Trials next summer and earn a spot on the team. Last year at the USATF National Championship he took 5th and would have represented the USA in Doha at the World Championship had he been cleared. These were originally a pair of bedazzled heelless shoes I thrifted from a fashion app. I added on some toes made from foam clay and covered it all in Worbla to make these indestructible. E hoje o post é pra falar sobre minha prótese, sobre os componentes e o papel de cada um no conjunto que eu utilizo. Vamos começar pelo meu joelho que é o RHEO KNEE XC da @ossur ele é biônico, controlado por microprocessador, sendo assim um equipamento muito seguro e dinâmico ao mesmo tempo, me acompanhando desde uma simples caminhada até mesmo esportes recreativos como corridas leves, trilhas e até mesmo a ciclismo já que ele conta com um modo livre que entra em ação automaticamente assim que começo a pedalar. Ele também possui resistência a água e a situações climáticas extremas, ou seja, tanto frio quanto calor não são problemas. Em relação ao pé, estou utilizando o PRO-FLEX XC da Össur, pé com alto retorno de energia devido seu design ser inspirado nas lâminas de corrida, me permite ter estabilidade e segurança em qualquer tipo de terreno já que tem também as lâminas bi partidas facilitando a marcha em terrenos irregulares. Junto com o pé está acoplado o Unity, que é o sistema de vácuo ativo da Össur, a cada passo que dou, ele aciona a bomba de sucção que fica no pé puxando o ar do encaixe pela mangueira que fica acoplada na válvula e no encaixe, ou seja, permite que eu fique mais conectado com a prótese, evitando que ar permaneça dentro do encaixe. Utilizo também o liner Seal-In X, além de muito confortável e prático de vestir é utilizado junto a um anel móvel que me permite ter estabilidade e ajustar durante o dia o anel mais pra cima ou pra baixo de forma conforme minha necessidade. You may have read about The Adorner in Simple Steps to Foot Pain Relief and Ive got an entire chapter dedicated to clothing, movement, and adornment in the upcoming Grow Wild (a book about kid and family movement). For me, raising children includes both teaching them choice-making, while also holding boundaries for them until they can fully handle holding their own boundaries. So much of the former is theoretical; youre trying to explain what the result of a choice will be/feel like. I also know its really the self-experience that guides us most (or maybe I just liked to learn the hard way as a kid). On the other hand, how a body is shaped in childhood is the foundation for how the body functions over a lifetime, so where we choose to set boundaries during this time does have long-term implications. Its a delicate dance. Our familys shoes have always been minimal, but if The Adorner is going to take three days to carve wood heels, measure and cut cardboard, and then hook it all together with painters tape and aluminum tape—all by herself—then, Im simply going to admire her creativity and pursuit of self. Shes fallen down twice, has clomped around noisily and most importantly is in charge of her happy experiment of how these shoes feel and work compared to all the other shoes shes worn. Shes noticed herself that her toes hurt, how slow she is and how her legs cant move as much. Shes noticed this along with how rad she looks so can make an informed choice once shes building her own shoe closet in the future. I sincerely hope youre not following me for parenting advice (please tell me youre not following me for parenting advice because I only have HOW TO MOVE advice). Well, here we are. A new chapter! In the 2nd reverse diet with @hollytbaxter I ended with an average weight of 179.8 at 2400 calories. At the start I was 171.9 at 1265 calories. Whoa! We almost doubled that calorie load with minimal weight gain, and crushed some PR’s in powerlifting along the way. Side note, could still get into the jeans from before the reverse. Tight? A bit! Passable? Heck yeah! I’m excited to see what this next fat loss brings.⁣ ⁣ Remember, we should not live in a diet phase constantly. That’s why you reverse. You incrementally increase calories over time with minimal weight gain so you can live a life with a healthy caloric intake.⁣ ⁣ Side note, my goals have shifted. I am hanging up the bikini - so to speak. I will not be returning to bodybuilding competition (last comp was 2017 and initially I was planning a return). I am setting my eyes on getting to Raw Nationals in the USAPL and dropping to the 72k weight class. ⁣ ⁣ Looking back, bodybuilding was fun, for a bit. I made some great friends, learned a lot, but also did a lot of damage to my metabolism through it. I’m thankful that @hollytbaxter and my strength coach @thestrengthcave are on my side helping me get back into a healthy space physically and subsequently mentally. You can be fit and lift a lot. That’s what I’m going for. I’m a competitive person, so I like having goals to shoot for. 8 weeks, and 4 treatments! I made it through the worst of it! Today Im having my last round of doxorubicin, otherwise known as the red devil....named for its wicked side effects!! I still have 12 more treatments to go, but of a different kind with much milder side effects! While the last few months have been anything but a walk in the park, I think I did pretty well! My oncologist also confirmed what I am glad was not just in my head and that is that my lumps are no longer detectable by touch! A reminder that even though these treatments make me feel very gross, in comparison to the rest of my life this is a millisecond in time, and it is all worth it to be able to watch my kids grow up!!!!! IMG how much I miss you.... And yes, that is a boot...that I have finally been able to take off after months of wearing it!! After having an amazing time in San Diego at Footlocker XC Nationals in December, I ended up being diagnosed with an ugly stress fracture that I had accidentally been running on for months. To make sure I stayed in shape for track, I started cross training, and as soon as I thought I was healed a few weeks later, I tried to go back too hard, too soon, and then a second stress fracture developed. I was devastated. I couldn’t believe I had two stress fractures in a row. With the help of my family and other professionals, we decided that I should take time fully off of my feet, and even all cross training to heal as quickly as possible. During those 7-8 weeks of full on rest off of my feet, I was only able to go to the gym and lift. I wasn’t allowed to do anything weight bearing on my feet, but at least it was something. In doing so, I was able to become stronger and build more muscle and add some weight to my body to help protect my joints and bones. I took in a lot of extra fuel to help my bones get the nutrients and calories they needed to repair. After all of that, I am finally back to starting really light cross training, such as biking, still lifting, and I have even been able to work up to doing two short walk/runs a week! I am a whole new runner, in a whole new body, and it is going to take a lot of time to get used to and a lot of extra work to actually get back into shape again. Through this whole experience, I have learned to stay patient and know that God is going to get me through this. He is my rock and He can do all things!! I know he is going to help me rise above and get me back and stronger than ever. Going through this has made me realize that I am so blessed just to have two healthy legs that give me the ability to run. It might be a long while before I will be back to where I want to be, but no matter what, I am just thankful to run again, even if it is only two days a week. - I have been busting through my scrap bin lately and loving all the fun combos! I think this one may be my favorite!! The pattern I used is the Greenstyle tempo tights. It was pretty quick and beginner friendly. I think the longest part for me was picking fabric. Fabric is from The Styled Magnolia!

A couple months ago, our patient came to us with a unique case. She has CRPS (pain syndrome) affecting her leg below the knee making it incredibly painful to bear weight on that leg. She informed us that people with a similar situation end up getting amputations. However, she did not want to go this route. By collaborating with her, we came up with this very unique device. It has characteristics of an AK socket and KAFO attached to a prosthetic foot. It’s finally done! Just got out of surgery yesterday, now working on PT and slowly learning to walk again. When going in, the plan was to repair a little tear in my labrum and to shave off calcification that had formed on my hip bone from previous injuries (hour long surgery). However when they went in they saw a much larger tear going down my leg with more calcification growing on it, so it then turned into a two hour surgery that included 6 plastic screws to hold it all together. (can you imagine my mom in the waiting room, no idea what’s going on, panicking once she realized it was taking so long😂). All i remember is sitting in a bed in pre-op, unaware that they had already given me the drugs to put me out, then blinking my eyes and waking up. The first thing i did when i woke up was bust out into tears and telling my mom “they fixed me!! i won’t be in pain anymore ma they fixed me!” As you can see in the photos my leg is now the size of a baby whale 🐳 but today I hit some milestones! I.... -went to the bathroom by myself -changed by myself (the hardest one) -transferred in and out of bed by myself -started CPM machine therapy by myself huge shout out to mama harris for taking care of me. not sure what i would do without you. 💕 my biggest problem right now is living in a place with SO many stairs. if you are my neighbor you will now be seeing me butt scoot up every stair case 😂 but i am beyond relieved that it’s finally over and am now ready for a long road to recovery! 🙏🏻 - @marlyepage on Instagram

DER GÖßTE FEHLER BEIM ABNEHMEN Hey Sportsfreunde, ich hab immer mal wieder darüber nachgedacht was wohl der größte Fehler war, den ich beim Abnehmen gemacht habe und ich bin mir sehr sicher dass es das „zu schnell zu viel wollen“ ist. . Damit bin ich mehrfach so richtig auf die Schnauze gefallen, denn es hat mich immer in einen Teufelskreis manövriert. Hoch motiviert mit 2000 kcal am Tag gestartet, an trainingsfreien Tagen natürlich noch weniger und zu essen gab es natürlich nur „cleanes Food“, keine Ausnahmen, denn jetzt wird voll durchgezogen. Hat dann auch zwei Wochen geklappt, um dann in die erste Fressattacke zu verfallen. Danach habe ich mich dann natürlich schlecht gefühlt aber hey esse ich halt zwei Tage nur 1000 kcal und dann passt das schon. Dass das völliger Mist ist, ist mir heute klar, denn geschafft habe ich es nie an diesen Tagen nur 1000 kcal zu essen. Der Frust wurde also größer und was habe ich gemacht wenn ich frustriert war? Genau, gefressen! Wenn es richtig „gut“ lief auch mal drei Tage am Stück und Zack war alles an Gewicht wieder drauf oder ich war sogar schwerer als vorher. Da war die Frustration dann auf dem Höhepunkt und man hat das Kapitel Diät mal wieder ad Acta gelegt um sich weiter rund zu futtern. . Man darf einfach nicht erwarten, dass man die Kilos die man sich über Jahre angefressen hat, in 10 Wochen wieder los wird. Deswegen unbedingt langfristig denken und die Ernährungsform finden, die euch eine dauerhafte Ernährungsumstellung ermöglicht. Macht euch nicht verrückt, genießt euer Leben, verbietet euch nicht alles und macht keine Raketenwissenschaft aus dem Abnehmen. .
