I dont have a bucket list. I love routine. My life is actually pretty boring. My favourite thing about going away is coming home. And I dont have any problems with this. I have a number of adventurous, extroverted friends who constantly nudge me to step out of my comfort zone and Do stuff. Back off.Do I suggest that your life isnt complete if you havent read a book that I recommend? Do I put pressure on you to get into your PJs and snuggle down with a hot water bottle and write the night away? I think Im old enough to know what I like. I am genuinely thrilled to hear about the safari and the wildebeest migration you saw at close range.Cool.Do I want to do it?Not particularly. Im not scared or unadventurous, I just dont need to do it.Nor do I need to skydive.Snorkel. Ice fish. When we go away well often stay where weve stayed in the past and be crushed if we cant find the restaurant we stumbled across 8 years earlier when we went with the kids. Nostalgia gives me the warm fuzzies.Experiences for the sake of saying Ive done them dont really do anything for me. Im totally happy to go on the thrill rides at an amusement park.Or not.I have fun either way. Ill eat any food from any culture, or boring old white food. Whatever. Ill stay at the Ritz or in a tent. Its not that I am settling or dont have fun. It just doesnt matter. Ill be happy whatever we do.Really. My husband is the same. We dont even really bother planning vacations. (Our friends think were nuts) We just make it up as we go. I tag along on a work trip and then we just do what we feel like. Its fun. Were so easy to go out with as a couple, or to travel with. Whatever anyone else wants to do sounds good to us. Were in. Its not that were pushovers, were truly just fine doing whatever were doing. I have lists for my daily life. To do lists. Project lists. Shopping lists.And Im the queen of schedules and planning and goal setting. But when it comes to downtime, I truly dont care what comes up. And in fact I dont want the pressure of sticking to a plan if something else seems like it might be more fun. Turns out Ive had lots of adventures this way. - @worthyshares on Instagram
