As I was going through some of my old things, I remember where I used to be. I used to be somewhere where I believed that Im helpless, and one day my trauma will eat me alive. One day Ill just lose it, lose my life with my own hands while watching it like a bystander. That was way before I realized how precious life could be if given a chance. As I was going through some of my old things, I came across something where Ive written I quit. and it took me to the days of closed doors, wanting to get out of school, disappointed Marksheets of failures after years of success, loneliness, misunderstandings, my mother banging on the door, her cries, medicines etc. But it was way before I started speaking for myself. So, today as Im remembering that day, Im also putting down what I wouldve missed if I didnt hold onto life I couldve missed the chance to study literature. My past self probably thought it was impossible to study what I love, but then again it wasnt impossible. The Harry Potter nights, my sleepless nights of clutching Harry Potter like its my life support and saying Expecto Patronum on repeat to drive my demons away. Falling in love with life. Before, I used to believe you can only fall in love with persons, what a stupid person I used to be. I never thought you could fall in love with people you never met, with places, with life. I wouldve missed the laughter of F.R.I.E.N.D.S, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, wouldve missed the Sweet sensation of Sweet Magnolias and Alexa and Katie, the drama of Gossip Girl, the bingewatching hours of rom-coms. I wouldve missed watching Marvel from the start, believe it or not, I havent watched Marvel movies before, I didnt even know most of them. I wouldve missed Sherlock BBC, and I still think what a meaningless life of despair I wouldve lead if I hadnt seen Benedict Cumberbatch. (Continued) - @logophile_scriptor on Instagram

Who else experiences this the day after closing out your budget? 🙋♀️ It always seems like its that one cent that keeps you up at night and just bugs the crap out of you. Closing outyour budget is sometimes frustrating, but its also a critical step in the process. After you have a working budget in your life, and you have formed those budgeting habits, you need to take it one step further. Closing out your budget accomplishes three major things. 1. It makes you aware of any problem areas of your spending that needs special attention. Once you can identify what needs to be changed, you can take the action steps in the future to correct them. 2. It will tell you in a very blunt way if your spending is aligning with your financial goals. The easy part about budgeting is making sure your bills are paid. The harder part is establishing important financial goals in your life and making sure youre throwing your dollars towards reaching those goals. 3. You can find dollars that are left behind. When you close out your budget you get to compare the amounts you expected to spend against what you actually spent. I showed the power of this on my stories yesterday morning and will be saving that video to my IGTV channel today. So, if you are like me, and are closing out your budgets today, dont get hung up on the one cent. It doesnt have to be a perfect process. It just needs to bring that financial awareness into your life. You WILL get better and faster at closing out your budget the more times you do it.
