Paddling through a Caribbean paradise found far north in the Yukon Territory. On our road trip here we passed by this beautiful lake, and couldn’t help but stop for a paddle. One of the biggest surprises while travelling out here, is the amount of emerald blue lakes and rivers we came across, especially further north where they were contrasted by red and gold fall colours. Driving through the valleys felt like passing between giants, from one gigantic mountain to another. The size of everything just slaps you in the face, and makes you feel so small. And yet something peaceful emanates from this nature. The colors, the smells, everything there made me feel like I was at home. Another stop we did at Grand Teton National Park was a short hike/nature walk at Schwabacher’s Landing. My goal during our Yellowstone and Grand Teton trips was to see a moose, so when my husband asked the park ranger the best spot to see one, this is where she recommended we go. We got there and the first thing we noticed was the gorgeous view! It was breathtaking and worth the visit even if we didn’t see any wildlife. The girls loved all of the butterflies that were everywhere and overall we had a great little walk. On our way back, we finally spotted a moose! 4 years of online ads, looking down every alley, and more notes on trucks than I remember, I finally found what I was looking for. A mint, low km 1st gen Powerstroke. These trucks stand out as some of the last vehicles that are built to last, and to be repaired. I’m still shocked every time I hop in this thing how fuel efficient it is for a 20 year old 1 ton. Looking forward to making some modern updates, ride nicer, use the engine to more of it’s potential, and become a weekday vegan. First up suspension!! Mulan, the movie was amazing. No spoilers here but as I was watching the 1st quarter of the duration, I spotted some familiar places. I was like, it cannot be... it doesnt fit the whole culture and it should be filmed 100% in China. But Ive been to New Zealand for 4 years, driven there for 2 years and probably photoshopped more than 200 photos on my various couples lovescapade sessions, therefore I sorta have the muscle memory of each location. I was in awe as more and more scenes revealing NZ and whispered to myself, how can this be shot in New Zealand? I dimmed the screen brightness of my phone while in the movie, and googled Where was Mulan filmed? Alas, it was shot at Canterbury New Zealand... and I saw some scenes in the movie that I set foot there way before it was chosen as the spot for the war or training scenes. Gosh, I miss New Zealand so much after watching Mulan cinematography. Ill be seeing New Zealand in a totally different light again after Lord of the Rings. - @melvin_multifolds on Instagram

Ever since my first trip into the heart of the Muskwa-Kechika 4 years ago I have been desperately itching to go back and visit again. Even though it was a short trip and I hardly even scratched the surface, the landscape and it’s elusiveness left a big impact on me. I’m ecstatic to be heading back into the M-K this weekend with an all-time crew to spend some more time on horseback with Wayne Sawchuk; learning, listening and documenting important stories about the land, the people and the resources within it. Going to be off the grid for a couple weeks, but looking forward to sharing more once I’m back!
