Dichas ciudades comparten un conglomerado que es, según los nuevos datos, el segundo con mayor índice de pobreza de la Patagonia. Según datos revelados por el Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas y Censos (INDEC), el conglomerado Trelew - Rawson tuvo un índice de pobreza del 39,7% en el primer semestre del 2020. La indigencia, es decir, las personas que no llegan a acceder a la Canasta Básica Alimentaria, se ubica en el 8,3%. A nivel nacional, el índice de pobreza se ubicó en 40,9%, con un incremento de 5,5 puntos porcentuales respecto al 35,4% de igual período de 2019. En tanto, el índice de indigencia, entendido estos como los pobres cuyos ingresos no alcanzan ni siquiera para comprar la cantidad mínima de comida para la subsistencia, alcanzó al 10,5% en el primer semestre contra el 7,7 % de enero-junio del año pasado. Did you know 94% of plastics in the ocean are not visible because they sit below the ocean surface? Plastics such as HDPE, LDPE and PP have a density less than seawater, allowing them to float. On the other hand, single use plastics (PET, PVC, PS and PLA) have a higher density than seawater causing them to sink. Over time, algae and marine life attach to the floating plastics, causing them to sink into the depths of the ocean. I probably wouldnt have posted this bare face on Instagram until a year ago if you asked me...ive always been conscious of the way my skin looks on camera...mostly my eyes without a hint of kajal... I was so used to the idea of an eye pencil that people would ask me if I’m unwell when I’de go to work without an eye liner...i figured they were probably asking because they may have never seen me without it. Ive also been asked by our family ophthalmologist to stop wearing under eye kajal on the tear line as it dries up the eyes excessively..but I never listened entirely! So ironic that I was focussing more on appearance rather than eye health...until sometime ago! . . I’ve never liked wearing too much makeup anyway and make do with a liner/lipbalm/lipstick on an everyday basis. For occasions like weddings/celebrations, I do like putting on a bit more and I love that occasional self love as well. There should be nothing wrong with that! . . But, im just so glad to be free of the self consciousness around the way I look. This is me and even with my physical imperfections and without any eye liner(which i’de have cried to death about earlier), I feel totally fine. . . This is my life and this is what you get to see without any filters. I really dont know why it took me so long to post a 100% bare no filter face like this without looking at my 101 imperfections, but Im actually appreciating this on camera way more. . . Relatives mourn two children killed after dominant-caste men set fire to the home of a Dalit family in the village of Sunped in 2015. Every year, tens of thousands of crimes against Dalits and Adivasis are registered under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The recent rape and murder of a Dalit woman in #Hathras is one among thousands of such brutal caste crimes. In 2018, there were roughly fifty thousand crimes against Dalits and Adivasis registered under the Atrocities Act. This included nearly a thousand murders and almost four thousand rapes. The latest rates of atrocities motivated by religion are unknown—the Modi government stopped releasing numbers on lynchings and religiously motivated killings in 2017. Yet, these figures have not prompted a movement in India akin to #BlackLivesMatter in the United States. “The oppressed know that Indian institutions—temples and universities and corporations, the police and the courts and the Constitution—need drastic overhauls to root out casteism, Suraj Yengde (@suraj.yengde) writes in his July 2020 cover story. “It is the dominant castes that need to do more to educate themselves about their privilege and violent prejudices, to organise and agitate against the caste system rather than for it.” Click the link in bio to read Yengde’s essay on race, caste and what it will take to make Dalit lives matter. Please join us online on Thursday, September 17, at 6pm (ET) for a conversation between artist Terri Friedman and curator Kathy Butterly in conjunction with Friedman’s solo exhibition, Rewire. Friedman creates large, painterly weavings that ooze, sag, pinch, and dangle in vibrant shades of magenta, vermilion, fluorescent yellow, and cobalt blue. Her compositions, full of seemingly dissonant yet pleasurable colors and patterns, draw upon viewers’ feelings of discordance to provoke a visceral response. To the query that how much space a lakh kilograms of plastics would occupy, our answer would be, ‘a hell a lot of room.’ Jokes apart, the Coonoor Municipality and Clean Coonoor, as on this day, managed to bale for safe disposal 1,00,193 kgs of plastic collected from the daily municipal waste.
