Sedikit cerita tentang Solo Basahan Pakem Paes Gajah Birawa dan dodot khas Mangkunegaran... (Budayakan Membaca) . Seorang wanita dgn busana pengantin adat Jawa tersenyum bahagia bersama sang arjuna di kursi pelaminan, pengantin wanita yang tampak bersajaha dan menawan. Dengan lipstik merah menyala, alis bercabang seperti tanduk rusa, paes indah, ditambah lipitan kain dodot yang membungkus tubuh semakin memancarkan aura puteri Jawa. . Sebagian orang mungkin menganggap riasan tradisional dengan segala kelengkapannya terlihat kuno atau tidak mengikuti zaman. Akan tetapi banyak juga generasi muda yang justru menyenangi riasan tersebut. Tidak hanya ingin melestarikan budaya, sebagian pasangan yang asli keturunan Jawa, sengaja memilih pakaian kebesaran pengantin . Dimulai dari Paes, Paes adalah riasan berupa cengkorongan di dahi wanita yang bermakna bermulanya suatu kehidupan, dimana paes adalah satu kesatuan antara pria dan wanita biasanya berwarna hitam, namun pada pengantin adat solo basahan berwarna hijau. Sedangkan kali ini kalau diperhatikan hijau bergradasi dengan hitam pekat. . Paes Ini terbuat daun dandang gula, yang merupakan campuran malam (sejenis lilin) yang bersifat nggak kering namun juga nggak meleleh. Paes dan hiasan lainnya memiliki makna berupa doa dan tuntunan untuk sang perempuan, . Dan kenapa Bentuk alis pengantin Jawa dibuat bercabang dan disebut alis menjangan ? Bentuknya terinspirasi dari tanduk rusa, dan maknanya pun berasal dari hewan itu. Perempuan harus memiliki tiga karakter yang dimiliki rusa, yaitu cerdik, cerdas, dan anggun. . Adat Pakem jelas penuh Filosofi didalamnya..dan tidak asal-asalan. .
