Our museum team has been busy inventorying our collections as part of an annual program to account for what objects we have and where they are stored. With such a large collection, we are always surprised by some of the things that we see, so we decided to share some of the objects weve encountered as part of our #CollectionsHighlight series. First up is this handsome G.I. who was excavated from behind Independence Hall in 1957. This small, plastic toy is a reminder that our historic buildings and landscapes have rich histories that didnt end at the founding of our nation. They are living places that have many stories to tell, particularly those of everyday Americans who arent necessarily remembered by history today.
