In the Woods came into being somewhere in 2008/2009. Since then its been a quiet achiever. A fragrance for those who love something quiet, not sweet, just restful. It was created with a mood of an Eau de Cologne, resting on Cedarwood and Incense. Reminiscent of a walk in cool woods. . However, inspiration for me is never truly linear. Its also a love story to the smell of freshly shaved pencils, Tim Finn wearing a rumpled linen suit, the smell of filling a house full of frankincense smoke and a book called The Chymical Wedding. It is part of a story of my 20s and 30s, but then also an adolescence spent over many hours of drawing. A love of 4711 and of course my love of neroli oil which comes from that. ⁣Pulps success relies on a contrast of volatiles occurring first in nature but long imitated by perfumers: citrus/fruit notes coupled with dry, green notes. Like many Byredo perfumes, Pulp has a translucency/space that has become a signature of the line. Sillage-boosting chemicals are paired with an abstract botanical note reminiscent of a florists shop (think green, sap, eucalyptus leaf, chrysanthemum/daisy heads, greener florals). This is the foundation on which Pulp has been built, though the main statement notes are, to my nose, a dry grapefruit paired with simultaneously green and jammy currant, softened with fig, plum or prune nuances. Its sweet and fruity yet not overbearingly so. Its green yet never sharp. Its dry but retains a mouthwatering quality that many successful fruit and citrus fragrances have. Tarde/noche Sartorial de Penhaligon: Este perfume toma el aroma clásico del fougere masculino y le añade algunos aroma químicos que le aportan presencia y profundidad a la composición. Es un fougere con cera de abeja y notas metálicas. Piensa en algunos caballeros mayores con traje clásico sentados en asientos de cuero en un lugar fino. Nefertiti de Maher Olfactive: El perfume más complejo en mi colección. Me cuesta describirlo, por eso no le he reseñado.
