Its been a week now since fight night and after some hard self reflection Ive had a lot to take in. Fight didnt go my way but there is a lot to be learned from the experience. Few things I now know... I know I belong, I know there is work to be done, I know that I fought hard and I know where and how I lost the fight. I know this game is a game of the hardest inches in sports today and the margins for error are oh so thin. I know I love doing this, I know I wouldnt be me without it and really couldnt picture my life not being a fighter. I know Ill be back, I know Ill be better and I know Ill grind my way onto that roster soon enough. Until then its back to the training with some new perspective, deep hunger and absolute gratitude to fill my heart. 1 week ago today I fought for the @contender_series_dwtcs. I took this fight last Tuesday morning and 2 hours later I was on a flight to Vegas. I went up a weight class to take my opportunity, and even though I came up short in a decision loss I do not regret it for one second. I believe I showed the @ufc @danawhite @seanshelby @mickmaynard2 that I am here to fight and take risks and put it all on the line. With only a week notice and a weight class above I stayed in the fight all 3 rounds going for the finish the whole time.
