Something magical happens every year on August 30. I don’t care what anyone thinks. I’m fully myself. And I celebrate every single small thing. Ever since I was little, my birthday has been the most special day. Whether we had money or not, my parents moved heaven and earth to make sure my birthday was the best day of the year. To me, my birthday is the day I get to be happy with who I am, no one can hurt my feelings, and everything works out exactly how it should. I guess I walk around in total victory for 24 hours. All the rules fly out the window and I just LIVE. I usually feel the need to explain why I celebrate so much. And I’m pretty much doing that now. But I just need you to know it’s not because I think I’m important or deserving of a weekend-long party. It’s because I spent so much of my life feeling like there was not much to celebrate. But I always knew everything would be fine on this one day every year. There would be a party. There would be gifts. And there would be people I love at every turn. Some people don’t love big productions for their birthdays (like my husband) and that’s ok. But it’s also ok that I love to go all out. Because today is the day I remind myself that life is worth living. Today is the day my visions and dreams are renewed. Today is the day I hold my head high and remember how far I’ve come. Today is the day God wakes me up with fresh eyes for life and a heart bursting with gratitude. This year, I’m really encouraged to live every single day like it’s my birthday — celebrating, loving, and running my race with joy, purpose, and compassion. And bringing as many people along with me for the Heavenward-bound journey as I can. The thing is, I have the power in me to walk around in victory 24/7. So do you. A Friday Mood. Today marks my 3rd year being vegan!! Eeep how exciting and fun is that. I’m so proud of myself and excited to continue the ~journey~ I guess it’s not a phase dad lmao. It’s my birthday tomorrow, and in celebration, here’s some things I’ve learned in my chaotic and challenging 22 years! . 1. Humans can suck sometimes. Dogs, on the other hand, are always amazing. 2.
