We want to give MANY THANKS this Monday to our Animal Control Officer, Maria Cymanski. Time and time again, Maria proves herself to be the top in her field, she is what all Animal Control Officers should strive to be: dedicated, compassionate, and relentless when it comes to helping an animal in need. This past Saturday the Missing Pet emails just kept rolling in. At 8:30 pm Saturday night, our media staff received an email of a 13 year old cat named Molly that was missing in the Barnegat area. This was forwarded to Maria, since we know that Maria seems to know just about every cat in the towns that we service, Barnegat included. Maria was busy working when she received the alert, but quickly responded that she knows the senior Persian tiny cat, and shes on it! At 2:40 am, Maria sent the text stating, Home sweet home!. She told the story of how she crept around the area, setting a trap and calling Mollys name softly, and engaging in all the other practices that Maria does best when attempting to rescue a pet in need. Finally, she got her and brought her back home safely. The ACO job may be a thankless one at times, but we sure want to thank our ACO Maria, for always being there for animals that need her. This is just one of the many, many pets that get back home safely, thanks to Maria. GREAT JOB AGAIN, MARIA!! If youd like to help in Marias important work, first- please keep your pets safe!
