We experienced a pretty severe malfunction with some of our equipment (in True 2020 Fashion!) and we are back in business today! What started as a small malfunction with one cooler unfortunately affected our equipment much more broadly. While we could have remained open, this would not have helped us put our best foot forward -- which we like to do! Quality product, service and experience will always be priority here, even if that means we sacrifice a day of business. We felt closing early while we put whats broken back together was a necessary step to achieve that. Thanks to our awesome technicians who worked super hard into the wee hours to help us fix the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused you today. Were a family owned Brewery, Brewpub & Inn in Squamish, BC. Howe Sound was one of the first breweries, to beopened in BC, in 1996. Since then we have grown to brew over 30 styles of beer, made up of our core brand, seasonals and limited releases that we regularly collaborate with local businesses. Weve recently said goodbye to our signature 1L swing top bottles, and are re-releasing many of our classic beers in tall cans with artwork that reflects our community, Sea to Sky Country. Eventually a salon visit is needed, but in the mean time at home....make sure to • ◌ USE PROFESSIONAL PRODUCT. This is an absolute bottom line MUST. Don’t invest $200-500 on your hair just to tear it up with the wrong pH + ingredients mamas! Love on those locks with luxury. • ◌ KEEP YOUR HEAT LOW. Styling tools that are too hot can alter the tone of your blonde, and all color for that matter. My rule of thumb- fine colored hair = 300-320. Medium texture=340 and coarse= 360 ❆︎ • ◌ CLARIFYING + PURPLE SHAMPOO. You must find the sweet spot and stay balanced with these. You want to remove build up and keep your tone longer, but be careful too much of a good thing is no longer a good thing. My advice is- clarify if your hair feels DRY but treatments aren’t effective. This means you have built up product that needs to come off. Use purple shampoo when you see your color start to get brassy. Max once a week, but typically once every 2 weeks is enough. Invest in QUALITY purple shampoos because many are drying and ineffective. My faves are @lanzahaircare silver brightening shampoo, @fanola no yellow, and @schwarzkopfusa BC Bona Cure Color Freeze 4.5 pH. • ◌ PRO TIP: No products purchased off amazon, from the grocery store, or other retailers other than salons / ULTA, are the real deal. They are likely expired, discontinued, diluted or imposters all together. Salon products are never sold directly to these distributors so they get them through shady means. . Do you want to stop thinking about food all the time? Do you want to have the mental space to be open and free to think about things that 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 matter to you? Many of my clients start off thinking food has total power over them. No matter what they try everything seems to end in failure and theyre left feeling TIRED of the never-ending yo-yo weight cycle. Contrary to popular belief - 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮. Its a 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘦 problem. When we give all of our power to a number on the scale or the size of our jeans it creates immense pressure to do things right. And when we feel pressure to look a certain way we try to eat as little as possible, create crazy rules around food that are based in fear rather than love, and then beat ourselves up when we dont practice enough willpower to stick to our strict plans. This process almost always ends up backfiring in ways such as binge eating, overeating, screw it mentality, and self soothing with food because we constantly feel like were failing at life. Ugh. So what do we need to do instead? We need to take the pressure off of ourselves to weigh a certain number or fit into a specific size. Taking the pressure off ourselves does not mean: Dont have goals or Give up or Let yourself go. These meanings will continue to keep you stuck (and what kept me stuck for 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴.) I know if feels counter intuitive, but I invite you to slow down and ask yourself: Is the pressure, strict food rules, and negative self talk creating the freedom I want with food and my body? If youre being completely truthful with yourself the answer is most certainly no. When we take the pressure off, we can finally begin to experience what it feels like to be happy & light in our minds. When we take the pressure off, our behavior with food stabilizes leaving us with an 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 happy & healthy body. Want to get on board? Pittsfield soon will pilot new traffic patterns on a few downtown-area streets and add community gathering spots like parklets for outdoor restaurant dining at several locations on and near North Street. Those are just a few of the projects made possible by a $238,826 grant the city received from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation through its Shared Streets and Spaces program. Public Services and Utilities Director Ricardo Morales said its a fast-acting grant program, and the city has until Oct. 9 to complete most of the work on more than two dozen approved projects that fit into two categories — calming traffic while making streets more friendly for cyclists and walkers, and creating outdoor community spaces. The state awarded the city the full amount of grant money that it requested, he said. The program provides grants up to $300,000 to communities to quickly rework sidewalks, streets, curbs and parking to support safe mobility and boost commerce, according to a MassDOT news release. I stood in line for 4 hours today waiting to get a COVID test done... (friends, Toronto Western on a Wednesday afternoon is apparently NOT the way to go.) Naturally, everyone was on their phones bc what else do you do in a line? I listened to Michelle’s new podcast with Barack, took The Big 5 personality test and sent pictures of the long-ass line to my boyfriend... until my phone died. WHAT. TO. DO. NOW. There was at least another 45 mins left of a wait, so I asked the lady in front of me to hold my spot while I ran to Shoppers for a magazine. Shoppers was closed. Tail between my legs, I took my place back in the line and thanked the kind lady, who barely heard me as she’d been engrossed in this book the entire time we’d been in line together. A few minutes later, I saw her put said book back into her bag. I was bored outta my MIND and my content-addicted ADHD brain craved entertainment. Would it be weird for me to ask to borrow her book since she’s not reading it anyway? But maybe she’ll wanna read it later... well, then she can just ask for it back. But maybe it’s not cool to ask bc of COVID and I don’t have sanitizer on me so I can’t sanitize it for her when I’m done... well, maybe she doesn’t care. Well, she’s getting tested for COVID, so she probably does care... My thought process went on like this for at least another 10 minutes. With each new ponder, I would visualize how I’d ask her, what I’d say and how just maybe she’d say yes. And then something amazing happened. She suddenly, from 6-feet away, turned around, looked straight at me and said: do you wanna borrow my book? I just finished it and it’s really good, I couldn’t put it down and we have at least another 40 mins of waiting... My jaw dropped. Either she felt me eyeing her book super creepily while she was reading or... manifestation WORKS. I thanked her profusely and she told me to keep it. The book was entitled: “How to Fall in Love” which I thought was apt reading material while standing in a COVID testing line since I fell in love during this COVID quarantine. The universe is... My marriage failing did not mean that I was a failure- I was just making it mean that. And because of that, I became paralyzed by fear to try anything again. Failure is part of the journey of life. Everything isn’t supposed to always go as planned. We are meant to have obstacle and hurdles. Go read that again. It’s part of our becoming. When we reject that vital part of our process and expect perfection, we miss out on the learnings of the experience and we play small so we don’t ever have to feel that way ever again. Instead of playing small and trying to be perfect, accept the fact that failure is a part of the experience. See it as an opportunity to grow and learn. See it as feedback for what you need to do next. Shift your perspective about failure and see it for what it is. Approach it with curiosity and creativity instead of doom and gloom.
