Our third feature Michael Ison (@mikronutrients) continued! Three of these shots are from my trip to New York. It was my first trip, first flight, first time in a new place— a whole lot of firsts. All of these New York photos were shot with Kodak Gold 200, as I could get a ton of them without breaking the bank. One of the photos is of a sky scraper taken from a little walkway path away from the One Trade Center with trees wrapped in lights in the foreground. The next one was taken in Wall Street during a snow fall. There is something about capturing snow in motion that makes this photo so charming to me, along with the leading lines of the buildings creating depth, and the man walking off down the snow covered road. Truly is one of my favourites. This one is taken inside the Oculus. This structure is nothing like I have ever seen before. Walking in, all I saw were other tourists taking pictures of the inside of the building, I thought why not take a picture of someone taking a picture. The other two shots are from art exhibits in Toronto. One being during Nuit Blanche and my first experience using Portra 800 for low-light and I really like how the art piece illuminated the people in the photo. The other photo is of a pop-up architecture model that was on King St W. While shooting this photo, I noticed that looking at this model from different perspectives really made this photo stand out from the others I took. All of these photos were taken on a Ricoh GR1V with various film Kodak film stocks. The existing infrastructure is characterised by its functional and operational role in the urban fabric. Distributed throughout the city, it is fundamentally invasive and permanent, while it consolidates the foundations of the urban layout. Instead, we propose a model for an infrastructure that aims to augment the experience of the city inhabitants through an interactive medium.⠀ ⠀ We are constructing our system in the air, allowing freedom in terms of mobility, leaving no footprint and liberating the ground level for free movement. The system operates by localised communication that generates a reactionary swarm of agents that perform at a higher level of organisation, ultimately enabling real-time decision making. It is the latter that makes the system adaptive and flexible. Achieving a sense of space within the temporary nature of the system requires the use of atmospheric element. This is facilitated using illumination and the transformable geometrical properties of the system itself.
