How does it really feel like to be loved? I love yous and I promise yous are just like his and byes now. And finding someone who understands the value of those words in this generation is like looking for a needle in a haystack, or at least thats what I felt. The problem was in our mindsets. Me being an old school lover; when I loved him, I thought his feelings were as deep as mine, as meaningful as mine. Meanwhile, his love for me came with terms and conditions which I wasnt even made aware of. There were some hints which I ignored just like we ignore terms and conditions in those ads, typed in tiny, almost unreadable and unnoticeable fonts. Still, I trusted him and his words blindly for years and fought with my insecurities. Those terms & conditions were pointed by him clearly when it all ended and I confronted him. I was left heartbroken. How do you feel when you are cheated on or scammed? It felt exactly like that. I nearly lost all my faith from love. But I realised love does exist, when I looked around and corrected myself a little. I stop generalizing love as a feeling in a romantic relationship only. It was love when my mother couldnt sleep because I couldnt sleep. It was love when my father skipped his checkups because I was terribly sick and the hospital bills kept increasing. It was love when my best friend called me worriedly when I was offline just for half a day! It is love when someone hurts you and your sibling fights back. It is love when you pat on your four-legged friend once and it remembers you forever. And for romantic relationships, it is love when you dont have to choose it but you are still ready to fight for it. Love exists. Maybe the void cant be filled immediately but if you look around, you will feel the void less. Tell yourself that it is okay.
