“Revolution only happens when the people have nothing left to lose.” And here we are , the clock has struck midnight and we are all left spinning as the reality we have clung to so blindly and so greedily, dissolves before us . I have been trying to understand why i have been feeling so calm and present with the unfolding of the weeks chaos . At times I have felt numb and in shock and I still am in many ways, but there is an underlying stillness and presence too . And I think it’s because in some ways I’ve been longing for this , I’ve been waiting for this point in time to arrive . The Humbling of Humankind. Where we are halted and humbled and slapped around the head until we are forced to stop taking it all for granted . I don’t know it’s like I, like many of us, have been sitting, aching, in this knowledge that things are dangerously fucked up on so many levels of our civilisation for many years now. We have been watching the evidence of our Earth and all her inhabitants be bought to their knees as we destroy her without remorse or regret. I been watching and taking it all in , And it’s just been this internal burden This weight that I haven’t known what to do about, Ive felt so powerless and so angry with myself for being so weak and not being able to do anything of credit or weight about it . I’ve felt so much despair and so much grief simply Watching as we in the western world go on mindlessly, greedily, indulging and exploiting, and ignoring the reality that should have us on our knees ! But now, in this time , finally, finally we are forced to stop . We are forced to sit down, shut up and listen . As the rest of the people and the ‘authorities’ around the world are finally feeling some of the fear and the uncertainty about what will happen to us if we don’t respond to what is going on around us . Finally we are having to see what it’s like to go without, Finally we are experiencing what life is like without all the privileges we take for granted . Finally we must stop .
