GROW. That’s the series we’re in at @multiply_kc . Our faith is just like a plant, if we never plant it outside and expose it to the elements it will never become strong enough to produce fruit. Our family is about to be placed outside in the elements to grow and produce fruit. Next week I’ll be closing a chapter of my life and leaving my consistent career building escape rooms and will devote my time to Real Estate and our ministry here in Kansas City. It’s certainly a step of faith but we know it’s the direction God wants us to take. So say a prayer for us and if you’re looking for a home or are thing about selling yours give me a call! #instakc #kck #grow #realtor #realestate #kansascity #faith #igkc - @shanekeith_ on Instagram

Did you know that beets are chock-full of fiber and can seriously help your digestion? Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, FRESHFARMs Pop Up Food Hub (PUFH) has been working harder than ever to provide nutritious, local fruits and vegetables at no cost to our areas most vulnerable. The PUFH has scaled up by 600% this season, delivering bags of fresh produce to 2,200 people in DC and Virginia weekly, the majority of whom use nutrition benefits. We’re especially proud of our expansion to Northern Virginia, where creative partnerships are helping us reach an even broader footprint of neighborhoods and communities. Working with partners like @nationallanding and @moms_produce at the Virginia Hospital Center, we are making significant progress in improving food access for Virginia families, while providing critical additional income to our local farmers during this health crisis. Read more about the great work our PUFH team is doing in Virginia, and consider making a donation to support our partners who are helping to get fresh, local food to families in need - just see the link in our bio! - @freshfarmdc on Instagram

As we all know there is many thoughts what is healthy way of living. . I just hope that you will take few minutes every now and then to think what it is for you. Take care of your self and love your self every day. 💛 . For me it is for example a lot of fresh veggies, yoga, long walks in the forest, wimming in nature , walking barefoot ... . I also try to grow some of my food, like today the wheatgrass is balcony grown. This makes connection and preciation to your food and towards nature. Soil gives us also good microbies that keeps our mind and body working. 🌱🙏🏼🌎 - @jpeterlinden on Instagram

Feeling incredibly grateful for my optimist fanbase sending messages of hope, love and encouragement🥰 and sharing how zero waste has made them more self sufficient in todays complicated world. I especially love seeing your crazy experiments🤪 and the recent popularity and revival of one my books tips: Regrow! 🌱 This📸is what our Regrow Project looks like at the moment. Were keeping it secured in our #homeonwheels with (reusable) museum putty to keep it from tipping over on travel days. These have been (re-)growing and travelling with us since mid-March📆, through Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah... and theyre still giving us an inch per day of goodness😋. After a few experiments regrowing all kinds of vegetable scraps, I downsized to just green onions, as I find them to be: . the easiest (in terms of speed and use), . the prettiest in my decor (celery being a close runner up, because you end up with something looking like an island topped with a palm tree 🏝). But you can try for yourself with radishes, carrots🥕, turnips, Romaine🥬, beets, onions🧅, fennel, garlic🧄, leeks, celery, etc. All you need is to remember to change the water (1inch) daily, so having them next to the kitchen sink is most practical (in our 188sq ft living space that means that it can be in the bathroom, the bedroom, the living/dining room😆). 🌱 While some veggie scraps can be regrown into a whole new vegetable👩🌾, my goal is to only use the tops (I dont have a garden): Each day, I hold and cut✂an inch off the top, and then smaller pieces straight onto a dish🍲 for added flavor and garnish. In an upcoming post, Ill show what a weeks worth of dinners looks like in our #zerowastehome (something that a lot of you have requested) so youll also be able to see how Ive used these regrowths. So keep an eye out for it🧐! 🌱 Whats your favorite tip from my book? Share it using #zerowastehometip: Ill pick and repost my faves! . . . . . #nomad #zerowaste #zerodechet #unpackaged #bulk #regrow #regrowyourscraps #zerofoodwaste #ZWHtour #zerowastehomebook #zerowastelifestyle #5Rs #reuse #ZWH #zerowastehometour #airstream #tinyliving #zerowasteliving - @zerowastehome on Instagram

Wellness Wednesday Raise your hand if you have tried fennel! Fennel can be considered a vegetable and an herb, due to it’s wide range of nutritional and healing benefits. Let’s learn a bit about this interesting plant. . ~ Fennel is rich in folate, vitamin C, magnesium, cobalt, and iron, and essential oils that contain powerful anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. . ~ Fennel has properties that prevent and stop the formation of gas in the stomach. It is excellent for indigestion and is used as a natural antacid, helping to reduce acidity and inflammation in the digestive tract. It also helps proper absorption and assimilation of nutrients from food. . ~ Fennel contains an anti-inflammatory phytonutrient called anethole that blocks inflammation and the mutation of regular cells into cancer cells! . ~ Fennel has the ability to ease and regulate menstruation by regulating hormonal action in the body. . ~ Fennel has historically been used by nursing women to help stimulate consistent milk flow. . ~ It is also known to strengthen hair, prevent hair loss, improve memory, and relax the body. . HOW TO USE FENNEL: ~ Slice or chop and use raw in salads, for snacking, or add to a fresh pressed juice. . ~ Roast the bulb or add to soups or vegetable dishes. . ~ The fronds can be used in salads or for garnish. . ~ The seeds can be chewed after a meal to enhance digestion and freshen breath.
