Got a bunch of these Nyx Bulbs from the awesome @asteraofficial on this shoot! It’s getting harder as a regular consumer (and film person) to find your OG incandescent light bulbs these days I find. The shelves are dominated by CFL’s or LED’s and not the film friendly ones. Which is great for your electrical bill but not so much for making movies, haha! Anyways. We’ve got 16 #Nyx bulbs for replacing all our practicals with! Как жизнь дала мне по носу... в прямом смысле слова🤣 Эта история началась около месяца назад, когда я написала пост о своей жизни до и после Флуид Арт. Не поймите меня неправильно, у меня не была плохая жизнь. Не простая - да, но интересная. Просто Флуид Арт зажег лампочку во мне и и весь мир вокруг меня изменился... Среди многочисленных откликов на этот пост было и предложение от @photographer_bay_area сделать фотоисторию моей жизни. Надо сразу оговориться, что я знала кто такая Наташа Полякова и её уровень профессионализма, но я не подозревала до какой степени... Заранее было решено снимать 2 части: до и после Флуид Арт. Обговорен стиль фотографий и настроение: черно-белый, серьезный. В пятницу утром я приехала к Наташе в студию снимать историю ДО. А дальше... дальше была магия...игра тьмы и света... Через пару часов я завороженно смотрела на результат понимая, что это уже Арт! Вообщем, мой нос задрался до потолка и в таком эйфорическом состоянии я приехала навестить друзей. Сразу оговорюсь что в этом доме я частный гость и знаю каждый уголок этого дома. Но то что посреди большой комнаты оказывается есть выдвигающаяся, стеклянная дверь мне ещё только предстояло узнать. А дальше все просто, как в плохом кино. Полумрак, освещён только дальний конец комнаты. Я, как всегда, зачем то бегу. Грохот, фейерверк в глазах и фонтан крови... Вообщем удар пришёлся именно по задранному носу. Мои друзья- врачи (хоть в этом мне повезло), так что о дальнейшем уже беспокоились они. А я сидела и думала о том, что жизнь опять подмигнула мне... Надеюсь что через неделю отёк уйдёт и Наташа снова сотворит магию и вы увидите цветные фото моей жизни с Флуид Арт... А пока я делюсь с вами Наташиным искусством в истории до Флуид Арт и моего разбитого носа... So to get my mind off things for a while yesterday, I decided to see what kind of headshot I could make with one speedlight in the confines of my new backyard studio. Set up the backdrop on one side of the room. Walked two small paces to the other side and put the camera on a tripod with the lens at 50mm and started snapping away. Почему я не стесняюсь? ⠀ Говорить о своих чувствах, желаниях, быть запредельно, до тонкого льда, искренним – равносильно обнажению своего физического тела. Что есть аналогичным для многих – стыдно, неудобно. ⠀ Для меня нагота – это искусство и красота. Показаться такой, как есть на самом деле, – сложно и легко. Подавление своего я, приводит к депрессии. ⠀ Желание показаться, быть замеченным есть у всех. И стеснение этого – травит качество жизни. Из прошлого мира, где осудительно было проявляться, нам еще сложно перевоплотится и растворится в легком танце лесной мавки. ⠀ Я знаю, что от состояния быть истинной собой можно кайфовать, а когда прячу свое мнение или чувство, получаю только страдания. ⠀ Что бы проявится - нужно не стесняться. Чтобы работать со стеснением – нужно осознать, чего же я могу стеснять. ⠀ Что для этого делаю я: 1. Изучаю свою внешность. Каждая, линия, форма, цвет несут в себе эмоциональную подоплеку. Мы появляемся в этот мир с определенным типом фигуры, шириной кости, цветотипом. Я обращаю внимание на соотношение плавных женских линий Инь и графических мужских Ян, на пропорции, рост, мышцы, цвет волос, кожи и глаз. Слышу свой голос в записи и мнения знакомых, замечаю свою мимику и жесты на видео, спонтанных фото. ⠀ 2. Хожу на психотерапию. Индивидуальную и групповую. Первая групповая терапия стала для меня мощным толчком к практическому пониманию единства человеческих социальных групп – единый организм. Я увидела свои проявления в другом человеке, встретилась в безопасной обстановке со своими триггерами. В реальном действии подтвердила – все твое окружение, одежда, работа – отражение тебя. С сессиями понимание всем якобы известных истин обретает смысл, когда теоретическая фраза становится личным опытом. ⠀ 3.Медитирую. У меня нет системы, я делаю это по желанию. Для меня это терапия высшего уровня, но что бы получать от нее максимум, для меня нужно пройти сессии с психотерапевтом. Я вижу, как раскрывается моя чувствительность, интуиция, понимание. It’s been a bit. I’m going to try to share a lot in this note, hang in there with me. In the past, I’ve been worried about what I show you on IG. So, I’ve been staying away and sitting with what these feelings mean. Sitting with why I feel pressure to post the perfect thing for a “brand”, and also my insecurities around my writing skills. But I always come back to this, I never wanted to build a brand. Nor did I want to be beholden to post on an algorithm I’ll never understand. I started this here as a way to connect with you, my fellow hair friends. Not as a business, but as a human. I’ve said it before, I believe hairstylists are superhuman. And, I also believe that we are the only ones that truly get each other. I started out doing razor classes, and it’s morphed into so much more than that. I love connecting with you on a deeper level, and my favorite thing is to see us support one another. I’ve had some rollercoaster emotions during these times, and I tend to go inward when this happens, but moving forward I will try my best to be open with you. After having some time to sit with allllllll the feelings, I now know that the best place to be is here with you. I promise to show up, even if it’s messy. Messy pics and messy life, messy everything. We had some beautiful (and sometimes difficult) conversations during early quarantine here on IG and zoom. Yesterday @dammelphotographicworks and I had a one on one workshop on how to coach a model into a pose. I’ve never taught a photographer the secrets and tips that models have in their heads when it comes to moving into different poses...so this was a challenge for me as well because “I just do it.” I don’t have the words to explain. So we just started to shoot and as I got into poses I had thoughts out loud of why I was doing what I was doing and explaining to Joe the difference of this vs. that. Getting to meet Coco was so unreal. I felt like I was dreaming and they were the most welcoming they could possibly be. Ive grown so much from that camp and continue to grow to this day. 5 years ago my plans of moving to LA were destroyed. I found out I had breast cancer the day I was planning on LA house shopping. After having surgery I was told my test results were great and I would not have to do chemo.LA plans back on! A week later, another call, changed their mind and they want me to do aggressive chemo. I decide to go to LA and meet with Dr.’s out here. I know God will give me clarity of where to live and do my treatment. First LA Dr. says no chemo. Second Dr. says no chemo. Found my dream home in LA later that afternoon. Listen to God! He speaks to us so clearly. We just have to listen. Today is my 5 year mark! I’m cancer free AND I live in LA. My ring light is a new pal. Like a friend who always scores a killer shot in a busy restaurant with bad lighting and still delivers (remember restaurants and wetness and booths?) I have #type1 diabetes which has been super challenging since being diagnosis 3.5 years ago. I don’t post everything all diabetes, all day, but when I receive a nice little token of sweetness from a family dealing with a child with type 1, I post. I was lucky enough to receive some great little sticker art from @lukasparttimepancreas for my robot piece. This little sensor has made my life easier (when it works) and having some art to represent families dealing with this invisible illness brings me a smile. So does pasta, but that also brings me an epic high blood sugar. We are all dealing with a lot right now. Mentally, physically, emotionally. It’s sweet to receive a little diabetes love and support from afar. Remember, you aren’t alone. You are strong. Days can stink and days can be breathtaking. Love you all. Thanks Lukas!
