The Pangolin drawing today, is to raise awareness for the endangered species. As the drawing is quite huge (70.51k), Ive drawn it with my bike🚴♂️. Even on a bike it took me about 6 hours to cover the drawings and there are so many hills😵💫. Its one of the toughest one Ive done so far. Recordando mis 3 maratones major. Esta semana anunciaron que las inscripciones para el maratón de Boston edición 2021 se posponen hasta nuevo aviso. Todo parece indicar que mi 4ta estrella de 6 tendrá que esperar un poco. Mientras tanto me quedo con la motivación de maratones anteriores y que algún día volveremos a estar en la línea de salida con los sentimientos a flor de piel. Recuerdo un Berlín en donde las lágrimas me rodaron por la mejilla al caerme el 20 que estaba a punto de correr mis primeros 42 Km. Recuerdo un Chicago en la meta con mis amigos en donde confirmé que había hecho sub 3 y acto seguido me tomé mi tan anhelada cerveza. Recuerdo un NY llegando a la meta en donde mis amigas me gritaban y echaban porras eufóricas. Que por cierto después estuve horas perdida 😂. Claro que se sufre físicamente el entrenamiento y los 42 Km de la carrera, sin embargo no se compara con la gratificación, orgullo y felicidad al cruzar la meta. Maratones nos vemos en un futuro no muy lejano. 💥Targetting the PROXIMAL Hamstring Tendon for Runners💥 - 🔎The hamstrings play some pretty important roles as you run: 1️⃣Aid in force production as the foot leaves the ground 2️⃣Help decelerate the leg from swinging too far forward prior to the landing - 💥HOWEVER, it is essential to not only understand the relevance of the hamstring muscle💪, but also the TENDONS🥓 involved... specifically the PROXIMAL hamstring tendon as this can be a site of irritation mostly seen in middle to long distance runners.🏃♂️ - 🥓The proximal hamstring tendon is subject to tremendous forces💥 as forces are transferred through the hamstring and the hip/pelvis. - 🔥Progresively loading and strengthening these tendons may result in a more resilient/stronger tendon to better prepare for these demands. - 🔑Now, here are some exercises I typically use to target the area: 1️⃣Elevated Hamstring Pike- A great way to load the area initially. 2️⃣Elevated Hamstring March- A progression of the previous exercise. Can increase height surface to challenge it more. 3️⃣Alternating Bridge Curls- A progression to more dynamic demands. Can use a hardbook textbook instead of a furniture slider. 4️⃣Single Leg Bridge Curls- Incorporates increased load demands. 5️⃣Romanian Deadlift- This is not a progression, but rather great for hamstring strengthening, which I would also still incorporate.
