When I was 12 years old I was told I should never have children due to some health issues I was born with. Doctors believed that getting pregnant could completely destroy my overall health and lead to severe and lifelong issues. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Even at the age of 12, I knew I wanted to be a mom someday, so when I was told I couldn’t, I was devastated. I cried for days, I turned my back on God, and felt depressed. It took me a long time to accept the fact that one of my biggest dreams probably wasn’t going to come true. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Fast forward a few years.. I met the love of my life, got married, and talked about having children one day..⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Knowing the risks, we tried and tried to get pregnant, and finally God answered our prayers. On October 6th, 2019, a day after shooting a good friends wedding, I found out I was pregnant and it was the most amazing and most emotional moment I’ve had in a long time.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ At that time, I had no idea what the future would hold for me or my baby, but I put my full faith into the Lord and after a somewhat enjoyable pregnancy, I was given the most beautiful child! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I look at him every single day and see a miracle right in front of me. ⁣⁣ A beautiful gift from God. ⁣⁣ A lifelong dream fulfilled. ⁣⁣ He has been such a light in my life.⁣ ⁣⁣ So friends.. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Fight like heck for your dreams.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Never give up.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ And always, always trust in the Lord. ⁣⁣ I’d love to hear some of your dreams that have been fulfilled!!? 👇🏼 - @ashleyfranklinphoto on Instagram

if you were following me last christmas, you might remember the saga of the ikea play kitchen ‘reno’ i took on. it was my first major DIY project, and it took me nine months to recover from doing it. it was such a debacle (i painted, sanded, repainted like four times because the paint kept buckling) I didn’t get it done for Christmas and i never even shared the result. well...i finally worked up the courage to paint henry’s fridge to match the kitchen and this time, things went much smoother. i have yet to figure out the hardware for both but...progress! here is what I learned: let your paint dry fully according to directions before doing another coat or sealing. take the time to tape off the parts you don’t want painted very well, and, most importantly, spray paint should only be used outside (the garage does not count) 😂 - @ashleymasella on Instagram

Our playroom was driving me nuts with how plain it was, even I didn’t want to be in there none the less the kids. I came across this wallcovering and it gave me life, no joke! When Spain went in to lockdown earlier this year our beautiful friends @joguines_grapat were not able to attend their workshop and so returned to the roots of where they began - creating in their own home. They took a difficult time and turned it into a time to celebrate life; creating two unique sets, one representing joy, and one representing hope. 🌻 my loves 🌻 . I feel like words cant even explain how proud I am of Aleeah and Maddison lately. This year has been so hard for them, they have been through alot of changes, moving houses, new siblings, having to take so much time off school - it hasnt been easy for them and we tried to navigate through that as best as we could. . This year became the year of watching netflix on the couch, home learning, going to the park everyday, scavenger hunts in the backyard, spending all your time playing with siblings instead of friends, video calls to our family, and just staying home. . Theyre more compassionate and their confidence has sky-rocketed - which is amazing, theyre kind and so caring and have the biggest hearts. . Although this was not an ideal situation, staying home and having months of learning at their own pace has done wonders. They returned to school last week so confident in themselves and their ability, they had an amazing day and seeing their faces light up when they walked out the school gate that afternoon to tell me about their day was the biggest reminder for me that we made the right choice. Thanks so much for doing the MS Readathon this year and helping kids like me and my brothers and sister! This is so good because it means that a lot of kids will be able to go on special Family Camps like I did last year. My mum has MS and that means she’s really tired all the time. This is my contribution to the #kidslunchboxcollab hosted by @bismillahbros ❤️ A great snack/lunch should mostly include several of the food groups which help maintain good health, I believe kids should be eating whole,minimally processed food as much as possible and this is possible by encouraging more healthy eating habits which we ourselves practice at home..A little prep work is the key to reduce time and make their lunch box appealing n healthy.. Faizaan’s food preferences are very basic—he lovesss his roti/rice and salan..He also loves eggs n meat..protein rich foods are always a great option.. Faizaan and Zidaan have been exploring different food varieties during quarantine and liking them and I’m always experimenting in the kitchen for these two 🤩 ❤️ Alhamdulilah ❤️ Packed in the lunch boxes shown are: Palak rotis: wheat flour rotis made with puréed spinach (great way to include spinach) Sabzi: Channa Paneer: Chickpeas cooking in a tomato onion curry with cottage cheese or paneer (protein packed) Popped lotus seeds(very healthy snacking option for adults as well): loaded with nutrients fox nuts or phool makhaney lightly toasted with clarified butter or ghee,almonds,pistachios,salt and pepper (these are Faizaan’s absolute favorite) Box 2: fruits(variety of fruits each day is a good idea or including at least 1 fruit per day) Chk.nuggets (just for the collab I usually give small portions of these) Box 3:cheddar cheese sandwiched crackers with some cheese triangles.. Box 4: dry fruits,nuts..(went overboard with the raisins which Zidaan loves) Also,I totally love the idea of some lunchbox love/motivational notes 📝 for my lil one..He loves reading these and I know they definitely bring a smile on his face cos gratitude is strongly associated with greater happiness and positive emotions.. My little cutie with a booty! A couple weeks ago I shared with you guys that we’ve been using @pampersus diapers since we brought Jake home from the hospital. I was curious which diapers you guys use, so I threw a poll up on stories & wasn’t surprised when I saw that the majority of you mamas said that you use Pampers too! I’m a bit picky when it comes to diapers - I want them to be soft to the touch & super absorbent. If you have a little babe that’s had diaper rash, you know it’s so sad to see them uncomfortable & red. N I N E M O N T H S ...welp... it has dawned on me we are so close to having a one year old. Does that mean it’s time to stop saying I’ve just had a baby?? Nine of the most magical months, nine of the most challenging months and so many more to come. This month our little Strawberry has changed so much all over again. It’s like one night we went to bed with our tiny baby and woke up with a Strawberry full character. The cheeky little glint in your eye when we tell you no to ripping your bib off mid meal. The smirk you give as you reach for a phone or remote control. The giggles when you pull off Nanny and Poppy’s glasses waiting for them to put their glasses back on just so you can pull them off all over again. It’s hard to keep a serious face when you’re just so sweet yet so cheeky. You’re getting better at playing on your own, exploring cardboard boxes, carpet, floorboard, zips and tags but obviously none of the toys we actually paid for. It’s so exciting to watch you develop and explore new things. You are so so close to crawling forwards but I think you enjoy the extra snuggles when you get stuck under the couch because you’re still going backwards. Cucumbers are your absolute favourite with hot chips or mashed potato coming in at a close second. It’s now clear why all I craved were mashed potatoes when you were in my belly. Once again Aubrey Jean, you have made us the happiest Mummas and we adore every moment with. Finally working on my master bedroom.. i swear it’s the pit pile up of the house and i have avoided it like the plague since we moved in 3 years ago🙈. Now that i spent some time unplugging and getting things done and made it a place of pretty and solace ....everyone wants to be in here 24/7. ༆ It’s ok though....Thinking on my post yesterday ... i will probably miss those days when the boys check out their outfits and hair before school in the big mirror ..or come sit on my bed to talk .... or reading in the chair .... all is welcome.... it still will continue to be a place of chaos in a good way! Ganz große Schnuller-Liebe hier🤭 Als Lea geboren wurde, wollte ich es gern ohne Schnulli versuchen, nach 2 Wochen hab ich dann gemerkt, dass es dann doch besser mit wäre. Da meine Brust mit Milch produzieren nicht mehr hinterher gekommen ist.😅 die Maus hat dann einfach die Brust zum nuckeln geholt, aber zu viel gesaugt, sodass im Übermaß Milch produziert wurde & ich immer wieder mit Milchstau zu kämpfen hatte. Deswegen kam dann auch der Schnulli zum Einsatz & ich bin sehr froh, dass sie ihn auch angenommen hat. Naja, bis heute liebt sie ihn noch, wie man unschwer erkennen kann.😅 ich versuche ihn ihr tagsüber wirklich abzugewöhnen, dass sie ihn nur noch bekommt, wenn sie krank ist, oder sich weh getan hat. Aaaaaber alles leichter gesagt, als getan.😁 Nehmen eure Kleinen den Schnuller und wie war das bei euch? My ultimate girl gang 💕. This summer has been a tough one (really, the year #amiright), but after another ER trip, I was at such a deep low. Thankfully my biggest babe is okay, and is getting better by the day. I don’t know about you, but if you’ve had a hard run lately, doesn’t it feel like you just don’t want to post another bad thing? When this happened I was embarrassed. I was embarrassed we had another hospital trip, another sick kid, another reason to make family worry. I take things to heart, and often blame myself when things aren’t perfect, and when it’s been a season (life, lol) of imperfection, it takes a toll.
