Have you ever bought a self-improvement program/book for someone...and they didnt do anything with it? - I learned this around year 10 of being in business: Buying a self-development program for someone else is almost always doomed to failure. - I learned that self development isnt subject to the usual scientific method. For example, I could walk out on the street and give my Earnable program to 100 people, then study them vs. a control group of 100 people who dont get Earnable. The result: Virtually none of them would start a business. - In self development, you first have to want to succeed, then you have to have the skills (including time, perseverance, focus, self-directed learning, and occasionally money), you have to have the social support (spouse, parents, friends), and then luck. Its no surprise that change is hard. - Its also no surprise that if you buy someone a self-development program, they rarely succeed. Its hard enough for us to succeed when we choose ourselves.
