Konark is a medium town in the Puri district in the state of Odisha, India. It lies on the coast by the Bay of Bengal, 60 kilometers from the capital of the state, Bhubaneswar. It is the site of the13th-century Sun Temple, also known as the Black Pagoda, built in black granite during the reign of Narasimhadeva-I. Three years ago I was accused of stealing at a local gas station here in Bellingham. . I walked into the gas station, quickly grabbed some tampons and I heard one of the woman working there say, watch her. When I heard this, I openly told the people I was not stealing. When I got to the counter the man asked me if he could see my bag. I said again,” I am not stealing from you”. Before I could hand him my bag he invaded my space, ripping it out of my hands. After that I paid for my things, went out to my car and cried because I knew that everything about this interaction was wrong. . I cried because I felt small and non-human. I cried because I knew that something like this would never happen to my friends. . I can’t outrun racism. A fancy bike, a college education, walking-talking a certain way, having nice clothes or owning a beautiful home won’t change the way our society breathes. . My story isn’t uncommon. It happens all the time. I was lucky enough to not have things not go too far. . 1. We must understand our biases. 2. We must question these systems that keep people down. 3. We must show up and vote. 4. We must push for better representation of the global majority. 5. We must actively listen. Listen to black voices. This weekend was my first race (trail trophy @trailonbikesports ) of the season in Breitenbrunn(@trailcenter_rabenberg) . It was also my first race in the womens class. Race day 1 / Saturday was very difficult, our team @trailonbikesports (@franconian_freeriders @traileruli @lotta_weinmann ), had to fight with a total of 4 flat tires and cramps. @franconian_freeriders had to stop for this day because his bike was broken. My father and I have not given up hope. We finished the race late on Saturday and despite everything, the stages went great for us. But when the times were evaluated, I was told that my transponder did not trigger on an intermediate timer on Stage 4. I got a penalty for missing a split, so I slipped from 4th to 6th place in the womens class. Race day 2 / Sunday was generally better, I was just quite exhausted from the circumstances the day before and therefore could not get everything out. It was a great event again. Even if the stages were so heavy. At the end of the weekend I achieved a 7th place in the womens class with about 30 starters. I have to say I had my hopes up at Mt Baw Baw this weekend for Rd4 of the @vicdhseries due to the weather. I LOVE racing in wet and muddy conditions and was thriving when I heard I was keeping a couple of the big dogs on their toes. It felt amazing to be back riding at the pace I new I was still capable of. I was pushing for podiums this weekend and didnt want to settle for anything less! P3 in qualifying with a couple of stalls in split2 I knew what mistakes had to be ironed out! Unfortunately coming into the Jeep track section I was expecting the mud to do the breaking for me, as it had all weekend, but the track had dried out and was rolling alot faster so I took a soil sample instead. Huge thanks to the crowd for helping to break my fall, I was horrified to think I might have hurt a couple of spectators so it was a relief we were all ok. Thanks for helping back up on the bike and sending me on my way. Thanks for the boost @vimeo. These rocks were insane- giant boulders sitting in this scorched wasteland which also happened to have pristine dirt surrounding them. @vinknico and the crew quickly imagined how these could be incorporated into riding features, but they also happened to all be sitting right in the snowiest area. As a result, these all got pushed to the end of the shoot, and inevitably we had to leave some rocky ideas behind. The death of Chadwick Boseman hits deep. His portrayal of TChalla inspired a sense of black pride I hadnt ever felt before. The rest of the image shows rocks where researchers have found signs of a form of rust called hematite. The mineral is a form of iron oxide, which is only produced when iron is exposed to water and oxygen. Today I’m going to share my story with you because I successfully passed the 10K milestone with all of your blessings 🥰. I’m here because of you. So please accept my deepest thanks 🙏. You are giving me great support and super encouragement to do more hard work 🤝. Now I don’t think twice before starting some hard work because I know you are all with me for sure. Thanks a lot again🙌. Well, I was only on Facebook and there were few people with me. One day my friend @feelingrafia_ told me “you should post on Instagram” So I started Instagram on 8 April 2020, and it was growing slowly. Those days I just had 5-10 likes on each. A few weeks later, I saw a very talented photographer @jackharding with 300k followers. I asked him to collaborate with me. Luckily he said yes, and then I was able to appear in his story. That was awesome 🥳. That collab led @tomkahler into my profile and I asked him the same. That was a big yes. He encouraged me tremendously and he also gifted all of his colour presets. What a nice person☺️ That collab brought @janfillem into my life and we did a great collab together. That was super awesome and that day was the happiest day ever. I still remember how happy I was 🤩. From that collab, I was exposed to the world and also he supported me a lot. After these things, @astonmartinamericas contacted me. That was the first brand that reached out to me. What a great start, right? 😊 ✨Then a legend @lennart came into my life. We did a great collab together and he helped me a lot and a lot. Hours of Skype calls and a lot of messages. He told me everything that he knew about Instagram and how I should grow. I have no words to thank him. On my journey, I met many nice people from all around the world. Some of them are @alex_stead @asenseofhuber @glennleerobinson @heykelseyj @kikearnaiz , and these people are very supportive and I don’t know why they are always willing to support me. The world is so nice with these kinds of creative and kind people, isn’t it?😊 Also, I collaborated with @joonaslinkola @pamelaforster @alangoesnuts @uwo @sjoerdbracke - that was a very good experience and its nice to work with these people. I believe any artistic work impacts people more when there’s deeper context behind it. If any of my songs have depth context-wise, it’s “Lost One”. * If you’ve never sinned so bad that it alters your life, then this post isn’t for you. If you have, then hopefully this will resonate with and encourage you. * “Lost One” was written from a place of failure. The rock bottom moment. The point where you’ve messed up so bad that you’re on the brink of losing or have already lost it all because of sin (or a major personal mistake). That loss could come as a career, friendships, your marriage or relationship, a home.. anything. In that moment, because of your wrongs, you hit the lowest point possible. The prodigal son eating-pig-slop bottom moment. * Then something happens...the realization. The realization of where you are. The fact that at one moment you’re surrounded by people, bombarded with love and admiration, and the next you’re alone, on an island. The 180 degree moment where everything in life seems to be at an all time high and then in an instant it’s an all time low. * Then a rescuer comes.. * For me it was God. I had that rock bottom moment, because of sin, my many character flaws and me giving into that over and over again. And then I found myself being called back and running full speed, back to God who’s been there all along, through it all. Am I sin free? Nope..who is? Sometime we can be hyper critical of our short comings and mistakes. In hindsight I shouldve done this instead or why didnt I take that when the time presented itself... Its easy to get caught in that spiral too! Despite whatever your accomplishments to mistakes ratio, your lifes sum has much more factored in. In my own life Ive constantly been surprised just how little is needed to change someones life, viewpoint, or mood for the better. Its okay if where society thinks you should be and where you need to be dont align. Fun fact: I used to work for a major insurance company, loved the $$$ hated how I felt there.
