Bear Valley Resort Closure March 18th, 2020 Dear Valued Bear Valley Resort Guests and Team Members, After careful consideration and recommendations provided by the United States government and public health officials in regard to the spread of COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to suspend all operations until further notice, effective immediately. Our winter operations are now closed for the remainder of the 2020 season. This Saturday is the last day to see INSIGHT at Mood Room from noon-4pm — !!! Eye Lounge collective presents INSIGHT, an exhibition highlighting the collective’s current eleven artists and their individual approaches to ways of seeing. Utilizing photography, painting, installation, fibers, ceramics and multimedia, the artists explore the concept of sight and reflections through time. Originally scheduled for March / April 2020, the physical exhibition was canceled due to COVID-19 and instead appeared on the collective’s website. In the past four months many of the artists have expanded upon the work presented in the online exhibition and created new work. INSIGHT at ARTLINK‘s Mood Room Gallery is both a physical manifestation and an evolution of the original exhibition. Most of the honest and liberating work I do is in the unlearning. Seeing the sneaky ways I try to believe I’m too much and not enough or that I’m undeserving of what I have or underserved of what I need. ⠀ It takes continuous work to unlearn things you didn’t know you were taught. Sometimes it feels like a fight to accept it all. ⠀ You know when I started loving my self? When I decided to. And you know what happened? I truly started loving myself. And then I felt free enough to love everything else in my life more. I started standing up for myself and my health and my wholeness, naturally. I look around now and feel love and acceptance from everyone who has a seat at my table. ⠀ We live in a reality where taking care of ourselves and each other is radical. Rest is revolutionary. Believing we have and are enough is rebellious. ⠀ like all of the systems that are falling right now, here is another that must. Just as the others, we continue to learn that the structures that teach us how to be are working exactly as designed. Until we choose to stop buying in. ⠀ What if we didn’t support the systems that tell us we are wrong, can’t trust ourselves, have to worry, be alone, or get sick. Let the walls fall: you aren’t how much or how little or not enough or too much. What you’re going through isn’t tmi for those wanting to know more. You are not cemented to any experience of reality forever, whether good, bad, pretty, ugly or otherwise. Everything is changing, always, all the time. Fight against the current of status quo. Question everything. ⠀ I hope you have and I hope you do. Then we can talk about how grateful we were to have done it. It’s worth it. You’re worth it. The ruins you see next to a mosque in picture 1 and the broken structure in picture 2 are the remains of the Multan Sun Temple, one of the most ancient Hindu Temples lost to time and destruction. It is presently situated in Pakistan. Multan was originally called Mulasthana, where the Sun god Lord Surya chose to reside according to the Skanda Purana(pic 3) and later Sri Krishnas son, Samba, built Him this temple by the Chandrabhaga river according to the Bhavishya Purana(pic 4). Much later in Harshavardhanas time, the Chinese pilgrim Hiuen Tsang records the splendour of this temple, housing a gold idol crested with dazzling gemstones (pic 5). This temple was called the Golden Temple of Hind and Sind. However, when the Arabic invader Muhammad bin Qasim attacked after 700 AD, he sacked the prosperous temple and looted 1320 mounds of gold including the idol (pic 6). Later, Ibn Akasim hung cows flesh on the idol to humiliate the Hindus, and they had to surrender 1/3rd of their income to save the temple, from Alberunis account (pic 7). The temple was destroyed in 986 AD, but later worship began again with a wooden idol with ruby eyes by 1130 AD (pics 8&9) from the Moroccan Al-Adrisis records. Tragically, whatever remained of the ancient temple after such loot and destruction was demolished by the Mughal Aurangzeb, and a Jama Masjid built at its site, as written in the Masir-i-alamgiri (pic 10). Today, destroyed ruins remain of this marvel of a bygone era, along with this rich, ancient history of the Multan Sun Temple. Dusk to Dusk — it’s a play on the story of the sun dying every night to let the moon live The story about how the sun loved the moon so much he died every night to let her breathe. There once was a moon, as beautiful as can be, only the stars could fathom, but the sun could not see. The sun so radiant, he burned so bright. The moon so luminous, but only showed her face during the night. She was untouchable, surrounding herself with a blanket of darkness. The sun would give anything to catch a glimpse of the Moon illuminating the beautiful night sky. Until one day when the Sun was sliding out of the heavens, he caught a glimpse of her. She was peeking up, a rare side of her being exposed to the light. And while the Sun could shine, he knew the Moon could glow. Just as the Stars were wandering into the night, the Sun fell in love like a snowball hurdling down a mountain. How he wished to see her more than the fleeting moments he shared with her at both dawn and dusk. But they were a world apart. “Go,” she whispered to him on one of those nights, her voice as sweet and sorrowful as the last light of morning. “Go and let me breathe, for you and I have decided fates. You illuminate the day, and I cast a glow on the night. We will never be. Our connection would go against what the people believe, all they know.” During the summer he would stay a little longer just in case she changed her mind. It was no use. “Don’t you dare abandon your blessing of light for my darkness.” And those were the last words the Moon was strong enough to speak to the Sun. The Sun could feel her peaceful soul and it soon became clear. At BCM, were having all sorts of hard conversations about who we are as an organization, where weve been, and what we want to become. We want to let you in on one of the topics weve been discussing - the concept of the good-bad binary - and why we think its harmful for everyone.⁠ ⁠ Binaries create a false understanding of the world. In the simplest sense, the good-bad binary gives you the sense that things can either be good OR bad - with no nuance in between. So if we asked you to pick your favorite activity between canoeing and hiking, the one you picked would be the one you consider most good - which means, in this example, that the other one must be bad.⁠ ⁠ We know thats not true - good and bad exist on a spectrum, with most things being a blend of the two. Our feelings on hiking vs. canoeing could change depending on the weather, the bugs, the company, and even our mood. Plus, what works for us may not work for others - folks with arm injuries may not want to paddle, whereas folks with knee injuries may not want to hike. That doesnt make one activity inherently good or bad or even better than the other - theyre just different.⁠ ⁠ While thats easy to recognize when it comes to outdoor activities, we still tend to use this binary on ourselves as people - and on each other, too. ⁠ ⁠ When we look at ourselves and others as good, its easy to think that we dont have room to grow. Sure, we make mistakes, but we mean well - so we jump to defend our good intentions rather than focusing on the harm we cause others. It also makes it easier to justify harmful behavior - if were good people, then we have a hard time believing that we can cause harm, leading to more harmful behaviors like gaslighting (dismissing/undermining another persons experience of the world) and victim-blaming.⁠ ⁠ And if were good, lives that arent in alignment with ours are bad. Othering people definitely isnt good, as it takes away peoples context, agency, and humanity - even when that othering well-intentioned, as in the case of paternalism (good people thinking we know whats best for others without a lived experience of their context). And finally, what this long grid was all about - the middle land between Tibet and India - #Spiti, a trip we took in June 2017, and a place I could never say no to! Our #roadtrip that began from #Shimla (after a train journey from Mumbai to Chandigarh), circuited through #Kinnaur and Spiti, and concluded at #Manali, covering some of the most beautiful places and experiences ever. With amost 15 days of changing terrains and new landscapes, cold temperatures and a few bouts of altitude sickness, I certainly never, for even a moment, missed the buzzing city life. Homesickness couldnt occur when Id found home and an overwhelming sense of belonging in the mountains. Niestety w gąszczu informacji pojawiają się też takie, które wprowadzają opinię publiczną w błąd😱 Jeśli chcemy pokonać suszę, najpierw musimy poznać prawdę✅ na jej temat. Co ją rzeczywiście spowodowało? Jak przeciwdziałać kolejnym? I przede wszystkim - jak z nią walczyć? W najbliższym czasie w naszych some opublikujemy serię postów, w których obalimy największe bzdury❌ nt. suszy. Jest ona problemem złożonym, dlatego walka z nią to wiele równoległych działań. Di Konstatinopel sendiri terjadi Pemberontakan Patrona Halil, Maka Sultan Mahmud I berkuasa sekarang. Ia mengutus Komandan Perang melawan persia yang berpengalaman yaitu Hekimoglu Ali Pasha, Ahmad Pasha, dan Count Bonneval Humbaraci Ahmed Pasha (Orang Perancis yang masuk Islam) untuk mematahkan penyerangan Tahmasp. Setelah memodernisasi Tentara Usmani lebih baik lagi dengan membuat Korps Humbaraci (Meriam Jarak Jauh/Howitzer), 3 komandan ini bertolak menuju Kaukasus.
