I shot this recently during filming of Children of the Corn on the farm outside Sydney where we managed to complete eight weeks of filming during the COVID lockdown. Social distancing with a minimal on set crew, sanitiser, masks, on set safety officers, a nurse, a doctor and daily temperature checks made it work. Its a re-imagining of Stephen Kings story. Where are my vintage cars lovers ? Following the trend here #asundaycarpic project by @jn . I too dont own a car in Berlin like Joergnicht but how cant I post such beautiful old car. Which I discovered during taking shelter under a train pass while it was raining heavily and suddenly I saw clouds making way for beautiful sunlight . And there I found my moment of perfect picture. Well this photo was clicked using mobile and edited as well using an App called Snapseed (Unpaid) . Afterwards I noticed I didnt cleaned my mobile camera properly which led to some sunflaring but I guess it ended up well . By far one of my favourite songs I’ve been a part of making. ‘What I see’ is the lead single off our upcoming debut EP @andamantrio Lyrically this song blows my mind. Lilith had a dream about the concept of a shimmering golden thread unwinding from your chest, weaving through your fingertips and leading you towards a lover you haven’t met yet, who is holding the other end of the string. Jesse and I then tediously but enjoyably added harmonies, banjos, mandolins, acoustics and early John Mayer, edge of desire-esque electrics (nice one Jesse). Since we returned our lives have been pretty chaotic. We havent found our rhythm yet and we havent worked out a schedule that works for us although the day is bigger here compared to the Philippines where it was already dark at 7pm 😅 One thing is for sure though, we got used to the 5 or 6 hours time difference between Philippines and Romania and it was perfect. We would start the day gradually with no pressure and we would get things done before the day started in Romania. During the day, somehow, we would get a lot more done without feeling any stress or outside pressure and Im complaining again so I will stop here :)⁣ Whats the connection with the picture?! And it just left me in awe. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Those of us that have been pregnant before know that your evolving body is often 𝓷𝓸𝓽 𝓮𝓪𝓼𝔂 to embrace. And it wasnt that she was free of those feelings, but what her desire to take these pictures signified to me was what she wanted 𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖 was to 𝖆𝖈𝖈𝖊𝖕𝖙, 𝖑𝖔𝖛𝖊 and 𝖊𝖒𝖇𝖗𝖆𝖈𝖊 where she is. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ 🍂 How often do we let our insecurities stand in our way?⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ 🍂 How often do we hide ourselves- our talents, accomplishments, bodies?⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ 🍂 How often do we doubt what others will think of us?⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Women. This year has been one I’ve really seen how fragile life is. I want to say how amazing this year was and how blessed I am, because I am so blessed. But right now, all I can think about are the people dealing with horrific tragedies. We lost an amazing man this year. My step-grandpa passed away, which hit me hard. He was one of the kindest men I’ve ever known. ✨ Sunday I read a story about a family who lost a 3 month old boy. My heart aches for the mother and father. I can’t even comprehend the amount of uncertainty and agony they must be feeling in a time that most people are celebrating. Today I read about a plane crash that killed 5 people including a 30 year old reporter and 15 year old boy. Carley McCord, sports reporter, tried to get in touch with her husband before her flight. He was unable to respond. Her last text to her husband said, “I love you.” Steven (her husband) ended up getting hospitalized upon hearing of his wife’s tragic death. There are no words that can express the pain he must be feeling. ✨ I share these stories not to be depressing, but to give a reminder of the frailty of life. Life is a gift. A moment by moment gift. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter who you are, rich or poor, famous or unknown, old or young...tomorrow could never come. ✨ People say, “Live like today is your last.” But do we actually really live each and every day like it is our last day? Do we say, “I love you.” to those we care about? Do we push ourselves to actually reach our goals? In this new year, don’t wait until tomorrow. Say what you need to say. Но я так хотела провести эти дни с близкими... У моей мамы вчера было День Рождения, и мне не хотелось писать об этом в соцсетях, скорее выкладывать фото с ней и тп. Ну честно сказать, у меня и времени особо на это не было, но и желания тоже. Хочется ощутить всех рядом, побыть дома, в пижаме, с чашечкой чая. Выйти в сад, подышать этим уже почти осенним воздухом... за время такой интенсивной работы, я мечтала об одном- взять дочь, коляску, и просто погулять с ней по нашему уютному частному сектору🙈 И вечно мысли в голове: «Ну что я за мать, если не нахожу времени просто погулять со своим ребёнком». Creating magic • Kinda obsessed with this series of @withcaressa . It’s like a sweet reminder to follow my intuition. We never planned on going to the heather for this shoot, but as I was driving to her studio that morning I suddenly felt like we had to end the day there. And she felt the same. In Ancient Greece, Women were killed for practicing medicine. A woman named Agnodice stood in front of her judges and fought back to protect the rights of women and pave the way for advances in gynecology. In 17th century Mexico, women were forbidden to read or educate themselves, destined to be confined in their husbands homes or locked in a Nunnery. In 1691, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz fought for her belief that not only could women speak and converse about philosophy, they would do it better than any man. In 1893, New Zealand shocked the world when they granted Voting Rights to women. In a photo from this time, Kate Sheppard softly smiles back to the camera. Her campaign of 32,000 signatures after threat of death, rape, beatings and the likelihood of defeat was hard fought. But fought, and won, she did. In 1960, Rigoberta Menchú had witnessed her people in Guatemala burned alive. Starved. The women beaten and their babies taken from them. The government would not help. She has since ran for president twice, established schools for women and girls, fought for education and healthcare. Rigoberta is also the youngest and first Indigenous woman to win a Nobel Peace Prize. In 1973, tennis professional Billie Jean King threatened to boycott The US Open if women athletes were not paid equally. They conceded; the first sports affiliation to recognize Women Athletes as equal. We have been called witch, whore, evil, stupid, less-than. We have been called property, we have been called unstable, we have been called weak. We have been traded, discarded, locked away, beaten, silenced, disregarded, preyed upon. Spirit of the wood. Every forest need a guardian. There used to be many, but then the woods grew smaller and smaller and they were chopped down with the trees. The guardians’ job is to protect the forest and its inhabitants. You can often see a forset spirit in the last light before sun down. They will be close to the forest’s borders and observe you while you walk past, but to everyone else they will just look like a light fog in the corner of one’s vision. They will melt into the surrounding trees if you try and get closer, making them impossible to see. They cannot be seen during the day. Although, you will feel a small tingling and your hair rising when they look at you. They will hide in the shadows cast by the trees when you look behind you to see who is there. However, if one were to be so lucky and rescue a forest spirit, from being chopped down or the like, then it would always be ready to return the favour. Could be by magically growing a big oak tree to protect you from an incoming car with full speed, or something as simply as a swing for one’s children. If your children starts speaking about a playmate who lives on the edge of the forest and has a fantastic ability to talk to animals and trees, then you can be certain it’s a forest spirit you have saved previously, who has now decided that your family has honourable traits and your children must, therefore, also be protected. Forest spirits are a strange and mystical race. Nobody really knows how old they are, or where they are originally from. Even the old elves told of how they had to fight creatures that were as much forest as they were race. At last the elves had to pray for peace, and it was about this same time that humans got down from the trees that had previously guarded them and protected them. Dzieeeeeń dobry! 🤓 Na początek bukiet kwiatów dla Was na tle pięknego pola, które już nie istnieje 😅 Taka jestem ogarnięta w kwestii zdjęć 😎 Sierpień stara się wynagrodzić marne lato w czerwcu i lipcu, wychodzi to całkiem zacnie, muszę przyznać. Natomiast ja, dziecko lata, kochanica słońca, największa oddana ciepełku, od kilkunastu dni siedzę zabunkrowana w domu, z opuszczonymi roletami, ciągle działającym wiatrakiem i domową klimatyzacją, która ewidentnie nie wie, co to znaczy chłodzić. I jest mi z tego powodu taaaaak smutno, bo musicie wiedzieć, że kocham lato. Kocham miłością bezgraniczną i czekam zawsze na te upalne dni z wielką niecierpliwością. Ale ze względu na dziecko żyjące w moim brzuchu (whaaaat? 🙈) muszę w tym roku odpuścić, bo nie dajemy sobie rady na zewnątrz, ale jakoś trudno mi to przychodzi 🙄 Chociaż mam wrażenie, że mimo wysokich temperatur poranki i wieczory są coraz bardziej znośne i przyjemne, więc będzie już tylko lepiej. ... 🍂💛 این روزهای پایانی شهریور دلهره‌ی عجیبی دارد دلهره ای از جنس حال و هوای ناب کودکی، با عطر دلبرانه‌ی کتاب های نو و طعم گسِ خرمالو ... ما دیگر آن کودک بی غم و خندان سالهای دور نیستیم، و شرایط ابدا مثل سابق نیست، اما این دلهره، یادگار خوب همان روزهاست، روزهای خوبی که نگرانی‌مان، بخاطر معلم تازه‌ای بود که نمی‌شناختیم، و تمام ترسمان، برای درس‌هایی؛ که قرار بود سخت‌تر از سال‌های قبل باشند... چه حال و هوای بی‌نظیری بود، هنوز هم که هنوز است، پاییز، دلنشین‌تر از تمام فصل‌هاست، قدم زدن در خیابان‌های نارنجی و خش خشِ جانانه‌ی برگ‌ها، تسکین خوبی‌ست... اما کاش برای یک روز هم که شده به روزهای خوبِ کودکی بر می‌گشتیم، مثلا اوایل مهر باشد و حیاطی شلوغ و بچه هایی شاد و خندان و بدون هراس از بیماری، که با اشتیاقی بی‌وصف، لباس و کفش‌های جدیدشان را به هم نشان می‌دهند، مثلا پاییز باشد و کودکی که بی غم و آسوده، کوله پشتی‌اش را روی دوشش گرفته و سرخوش و لی لی کنان، به سمتِ خانه می‌دود، و چه موسیقیِ دلنوازی ست، خش خشِ برگهای پاییزی؛ وقتی دلت کودکانه می‌تپد، وقتی نگرانِ هیچ چیز نیستی ... #نرگس_صرافیان_طوفان‌ - @photo__impression on Instagram

Spirit For as long she could remember she felt trapped by life, like being a viewer to a bad play over and over again, with no possibility of running away. Tied to her seat while everyone around her could walk away. Her mind had always been a happy and playful place, where she could spend hours imagining herself flying between the dark rain clouds, and sit on the bottom of the deep dark seas and envision herself talk to all the fish, and running through the old green forests with all its creatures. Though, growing older meant she had less time since she had to think about school, friends, and education instead, and as time passed she forgot that she was a part of life and instead became trapped by it. One day her parents invited her home after many years living away, but when she drove into the driveway an old tree at the top of the hill caught her eye. She remembered all the adventures and fairy tales she had experienced; laying on the grass in the treetop, by the sea in the forest, or playing around in the forest. It all came back, like lighting splintering through the blue sky, and her eyes filled with tears when she realized how much she truly had been trapped. She even had to stop the car and sit by the old oak tree and she decidedly tells herself that that will end. She wants to be a part of life again. It is a choice we all have. Lost That thing the nature of which is totally unknown to you is usually what you need to find, and finding it is a matter of getting lost, a quote from Rebecca Solnit which captured my imagination this week. This weeks igniting creativity challenge theme was Exploration (using a navigation tool). The concept of being drawn to what you need to find is hugely reassuring; it takes the fear out of the unknown. Collaborating with @dragonslayerma on our new book Time (link in bio) was a huge leap into the dark for us; but it was in the unknown that we discovered new talents, new friendships and new creative paths. As I mentioned in my previous post, he was the son of migrant farm workers, and against all odds he was the first of his family to go to college. His parents were essential in every sense of the word. They worked tirelessly, day after day, in order to put food on the tables of so many families, unsung heroes who never gave up. They did all of this so that their 6 boys could have the opportunity to nourish their own dreams, and because of their hard work, I got to meet my husband & eventually start our own family. Many of the incredible essential workers that have worked endlessly in order to help all of us get through this year are immigrants, so let’s show them that we care! What can you do to help?
