E a intubação orotraqueal é sempre fácil de ser realizada? Não! . Alguns animais apresentam pouca abertura da cavidade oral, focinho comprido e com isso a visualização da glote torna-se mais desafiadora. . O que não pode acontecer é deixarmos de tentar e fazer o nosso melhor para que a intubação seja efetivada! . A intubação orotraqueal durante uma anestesia não serve apenas para que ocorra a anestesia inalatória. Ela é um modo seguro de mantermos patentes as vias aéreas dos nossos pacientes, evitando colapsos, aspirações (cuff inflado!), além de facilitar a oxigenação e a ventilação assistida caso seja necessário. . A posição esternal acaba sendo a mais comum nas rotinas, mas não é a única. Podemos intubar com o animal em decúbito lateral, e o modo mais fácil de intubar sem auíxilio de outra pessoa, é no decúbito dorsal (como na primeira foto!). . Então a dica de hoje é: treinem a intubação em outras posições, saiam da zona de conforto e treinem também os colegas que trabalham com você! Uma intubação realizada de modo correto e no tempo certo, pode salvar vida! . O treinamento permite que a gente vá aperfeiçoando a técnica e nos traz mais segurança em situações desafiadoras. . . Medic Tip of the Day: Dental pain can be horrific, whether your trained or not in dental blocks it’s not always the best time or setting to do it. While 800mg Motrin TID works great for dental pain it takes time for it to set in. I always liked to carry a few Tessalon pearls for this reason. I know that these are primarily used as a cough suppressant, however the active ingredient benzonatate is chemically related to anesthetic agents of the para-amino-benzoic acid class (e.g. procaine, tetracaine). Knowing that, you can instruct your patient to bite down on the pearl, try to get the injured area covered in the contents, and spit the remainder out. Over the next few posts, we’ll be sharing some of our observations from a couple weeks of fishing Golden Dorado in Argentina. Some of our misconceptions, things we learned, and favorite parts of the experience.. Our first misconception, was that Dorado have a tendency to thrash your fly... We heard that sometimes it’s a one fish per fly situation. We’d seen fly tying tutorials where they add a lot of glue to keep their flies in tact. There is no doubt that when a dorado eats, it is vicious, and they do have teeth that can cut nylon or flouro which warrants the use of wire tippets. But.... We were using flies that were tied strong, but didn’t use much, if any glue and they lasted fish after fish! If eventually they did get thrashed, it was because they were cutting the materials, not ripping them out at the base. End of the month with a million and a half cases left to be processed. Mostly my IvoBase babies. Yes it takes a front staff to create a welcoming & supportive environment for our patients but it also takes a kickass dedicated Technician to slam out predictably beautiful work to keep patients coming back & spreading the word to family/friends. Us as Technicians are usually left in the dark shadows of our Lab not getting much recognition for our hard work but sleep peacefully knowing how grateful our patients are for us and the smile we crafted for them with love. Este es un fenómeno de diente rosado en asfixia por sumersión: El presente documento expone el caso del cadáver de un masculino desconocido en cuya autopsia se observó el fenómeno de Diente Rosado,según la historia médico legal este sujeto había sido arrastrado por la corriente mientras nadaba en el mar y su cadáver fue hallado tres días mástarde. Al momento del levantamiento del cuerpo, este se encontraba en avanzado estado de descomposición sin datos evidentes de trauma, sus dientes se encontraban intactos y con una coloración rosada que llamaba la atención al examen externo del cadáver y se determinó que la causa de la muerte fue asfixia por sumersión. Este fenómeno ha sido vinculado con un posible mecanismo asfíctico, ya que ha sido observado en casos de estrangulación, sofocación y asfixia por sumersión principalmente, sin embargo ha sido tema de discusión y refutado por muchos autores en el tema. - @odon.toforense on Instagram
