About 2 weeks before I started nursing school i was diagnosed with OCD, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, bipolar disorder AND depersonalization disorder. I saw multiple psychiatrists and therapists & each of them either wanted to prescribe me adderall or just wanted to send me somewhere else. The lack of care, compassion and actual treatment options pushed me to just deal with it on my own. I ultimately just blew my whole life up. I pushed the people closest to me away. I spent the first year of nursing school being reckless or laying in bed for hours on end staring at my ceiling. Not watching tv, not studying, not even sleeping, literally staring at my ceiling. In the darkest most lonely moments of my life i appeared the most alive. I had people telling me i was glowing. Every single morning that I had to get out of bed i cried about it. And the days i didnt HAVE to get out of bed I wouldnt. Basically what Im saying is that shit was hard for me and after feeling like I had lost everything I felt like I at least still had nursing school. Until I failed two classes & in a time when I could barely fight myself to get out of bed I had to fight to get back into nursing school. I had professors & friends telling me to give up. I didnt. i got back in & THEN I had people telling me i didn’t deserve a second chance. I wanted so badly to just give up on everything. 2 weeks ago TODAY i took my last test of nursing school. I just wanted to say that in every single one of these pictures I felt like I didnt want to be alive, i was a failure, I was worthless, etc and when I had NOTHING the only thing that kept me going was getting this degree. Nursing school literally saved my life. And now more THAN EVER i am passionate about going on to get my doctorates and specialize in psychiatry because I want to help people out there JUST LIKE ME that feel like no one understands or cares. I want to be the therapist that I NEEDED when I was going through the worst time of my life. I am so AMAZED that despite all of this I proved everyone who doubted me wrong & most importantly I proved to myself just how strong & resilient I am. This post demonstrates the furcation entrances of maxillary first molars In the first molar the mesial furcation entrance is located about 3mm from the CEJ, while the buccal entrance is 3.5mm and the distal entrance about 5mm apical to the CEJ (Abrams & Trachtenberg 1974; Rosenberg 1988). The three furcation entrances of the maxillary first and second molars vary in width and are positioned at varying distances apical to the CEJ. . *As a rule, the first molar has a shorter root trunk than the second molar. 😲Atípica Nevralgia do Trigêmeo associada a piercing lingual ‼️ . 👉🏻 Uma mulher de 18 anos apresentou uma história de 2 meses de dor facial neuropática descrita como intensa, constante e paroxística. Isso começou 1 mês após a instalação de um piercing metálico em sua língua. Um episódio típico começou com dor paroxística do lado direito na região maxilar (V2) e mandibular (V3), seguida por hipoestesia 30 segundos depois. Os episódios foram descritos como “choques elétricos”, com duração de 10 a 30 segundos e recorrência de 20 a 30 vezes ao dia, aumentando em frequência e gravidade nas últimas semanas. Raramente ocorriam episódios quando ela estava mastigando ou falando e não a despertavam à noite. . 👉🏻 Foi considerado o diagnóstico de neuralgia do trigêmeo, e ela iniciou carbamazepina 200 mg duas vezes ao dia. A intensidade da dor não mudou, mas ocorreu com menos frequência. Após 1 semana de carbamazepina, a neuralgia do trigêmeo retornou com características anteriores; a carbamazepina foi descontinuada após 2 semanas. . 👉🏻 O artefato foi removido naquele dia e 48 horas depois seus sintomas desapareceram completamente. Um ano depois, ela continua sem todos os sintomas, com resultados normais ao exame físico. . 📍A síndrome foi provavelmente secundária a um implante metálico lingual e, embora os achados indiquem envolvimento do trigêmeo, a localização do piercing não deve ter resultado em lesão trigeminal. . 📍O mecanismo causal pode envolver irritação nervosa mecânica ou química com sensibilização secundária do tipo central e periférico. The external horizontal mattress (EHM) suture has always been an elusive concept. We know that it exists but don’t really use it in our day-to-day practice. @theperioartist was nice enough to collaborate with me on this beautiful drawing of a clinical application for the EHM to suture a palatal roll. With one suture, we can secure the palatal roll, adapt the buccal flap around the healing abutment and push the tissue apically. The EHM suture is 1) started by biting into the buccal flap and through the palatal roll 2) coming back horizontally into the roll and coming out of the buccal flap 3) biting into the palate toward the implant 4) coming out horizontally from the implant toward the palate. AIRFLOW® STUDY SHOWS NO INCREASE IN AEROSOL CONTAMINATION DURING PROPHYLAXIS State-of-the-art biofilm management using AIRFLOW® does not increase the risk of bacterial contamination for the dental practice team and patients. In a clinical investigation, there was no difference between the bacterial load found in room air of a practice room and that measured during an AIRFLOW® treatment (10 min.). The results show that aerosols produced during treatment can be effectively controlled by using an Optragate lip and cheek retractor, an appropriate mouth rinse and high vacuum suction. The results have been published in the Zahnärztliche Mitteilungen, the official publication of the two principal German professional organizations (BZÄK and KZVB). Varios me identifican por estar en contra de las coronas y siempre digo que las coronas son un tratamiento de los años 60, hoy en día las coronas no están indicadas para ningún caso, las coronas son usadas para reemplazar a otros coronas que ya cumplieron su ciclo o lamentablemente están defectuosas . Pero eso no significa que nunca hice una corona ... más bien todo lo contrario hice muchas .... más de las que te imaginas, enseñé por muchos años tanto en pre grado como posgrado a muchos alumnos a tallar coronas .... Pero el conocimiento nos mueve ... nos cambia .....hace que avancemos. También soy consciente que para algunos este cambio tomará un tiempo y seguro otros están cambiando muchas coronas .
