This little lady right here, Taelee, is my whole world. She just recently had her 15th birthday, as I’ve been her fur-father since she was a pup. Not many know but just about a year ago she went into congestive heart failure, she was rushed to the animal hospital and kept her on oxygen overnight. She had to be rushed to a cardiologist in UC Davis the next morning and again in an oxygen tank till she was stabilized and given the proper meds for her heart. She has heart disease, arthritis, cataracts, and pancreatitis that she’s been living with for over a few years. Needless to say she’s a champ and is still kickin ass and acting like a teenager... Harlow is your #wherearetheynow Wednesday feature!! It’s so lovely to hear pupdates on animals that have been in their forever homes for a long time, and are clearly living their best lives! Harlows family had the following to say: “7 years ago as of September 12th my family and I adopted Harlow. We first went into the SPCA over the weekend just to see the dogs and play with the cats. The moment we saw Harlow, we instantly fell in love. He had been surrendered that afternoon and we were told that we couldnt have him because his owner said he was agresive and that he should be euthanized. My father asked how much a normal dog to rescue would cost, the manager said he would be about $300. My dad gave her the money and said If this dog is adoptable, I want him. If not, consider this a donation to the SPCA. He didnt believe that Harlow was an aggressive dog, he always said that there is no such thing as a bad dog, only bad owners. A week later, Harlow had his behavioral test and turns out he was a big chicken. Later that week, we brought him home at 75 pounds... the next visit to the vet weighed him at 68 pounds (he is now 63 pounds), they thought we werent feeding him correctly... turns out we were just walking him in the woods. Now that he has entered his senior years, he has found his inner puppy. He pounces, plays with stuffies for the first time and continues to snuggle.
