Want to strengthen your deadlift? Sometimes you need to focus on strengthening other moves as well in order to see strength results in another. If you are wanting to work on your deadlift you should also be focusing on moves that engage your glutes and lats. My trainer @krickithodges gave me a list: BB back squats, lunges, BB glute bridges, and pull ups! Assisted pull ups and lat pull downs will do the trick to! Deadlifts are one of my favorite lifts and funny enough, BB squats and pull ups are my least favorite. 💥Simple Ways to target the Soleus Muscle!💥 - 🔎When talking about muscle activity last week, I mentioned that the Soleus has been recorded to develop 6.5-8x bodyweight💥 (Based on Dorn et Al. 2012). This makes this muscle a top contributor as you run, especially for long distances! - 💎This reflects the importance of this muscle during running. Therefore, it may be key to incorporate exercises that target this area! - 🔑So here are some simple exercises that I use to initially target the soleus muscle: 1️⃣Soleus Wall Sits- This a simple and effective way to isometrically load not only the soleus, but also the quads, which is also a key muscle as you run. Shoutout to @zerenpt for this one! 2️⃣Seated Heel Raise- A simple exercise that requires minimal equipment! Just remember the demands of this muscle and you may need to progress this exercise further to prepare for the demands of running. Incorporating more weight and/or changing the tempo/speed of the heel raise are simple to do that! 3️⃣Bent Knee Heel Raise- A staple exercise that works more on the soleus muscle. И нет - тренировки с большими весами абсолютно не нужны ни на каком этапе. Многие придя в зал ошибочно думают что чем больше они присели или пожали, тем лучше. ⠀ Чтобы планировать свою программу тренировок, прежде всего вы должны знать о своих целях. Если ваша цель стать сильными, вы планируете сдачу нормативов и вам нравится пауэрлифтинг, то тогда - да, вам нужно работать над увеличением рабочего веса. Если ваша цель - красивые пропорции и рельеф, то такие тренировки вам не нужны. ⠀ Обратите внимание на спортсменов, которые выступают в бодибилдинге, пауэрлифтинге и кроссфите. Все атлеты будут иметь совершенно разную форму и строение, тк направленность их тренировок на прямую влияет на развитие мышц. ⠀ Бодибилдинг - это строительство, изменение качества тела и пропорций. Пауэрлифтинг - увеличение общей массы тела и развитие силы. Форма лифтера будет объемная, но при этом мышцы будут безформены и покрыты толстой прослойкой жира и воды. Это очень важно, тк это безопасность для мышц при запредельных силовых нагрузках. Кроссфитер также будет иметь своеобразное строение. Форма может быть рельефная, мышечная , с небольшим % жировой, но вот укладка мышц и пропорции будут заметно отличаться от эстетически сложенного билдера. ⠀ Поэтому, прежде чем использовать те или иные упражнения, посмотрите и определитесь какую форму вы хотите, т.к. все в этом процессе взаимосвязано: питание, тренировки, упражнения, рабочий вес и самое главное - ваша актуальная форма и генотип. У каждого генотипа есть свои природные данные и особенности, которые обязательно нужно учитывать. Даже при выборе кардио: частота, время, вид, выбор тренажера. 💥STRONG HIPS💥 ⬇️Be honest... Who focuses a ton on their glutes 🍑 but much less on their hip flexors? 😈Hip flexors aka the psoas muscle, have often been demonized in rehab because of its attachment to the lumbar spine. It is the blame to chronic low back pain and many other conditions as its perceived that the psoas muscle pulls the spine into further anterior pelvic tilt. Do you know where the blame SHOULD be? 🤷 Blame the person, their training habits, lack of movement, or sometimes overstretching the hip flexors. The Hip flexors actually play an important role in giving the spine rigidity and stability. 👉 Overstretching the hip flexors actually may destabilize the spine.. In my experience as a PT, Id often see a lot of yogis in my clinic due to them overstretching and less dedication to strengthening the muscle. 💪🏻Lower Body Functional Strength💪🏻 🏋🏾A squat is extremely functional and squatting on one leg creates squatting symmetry.🏋🏻♂️ 🏋🏼 A single leg squat reaching the other leg straight backwards is a posterior lower extremity ( LE) reach, and reaching the leg posterior engages the glutes more as they have to counterbalance.🍑 🍑 A favorite upper body tweak to further load the glutes 🍑 during squats 🏋🏾 is a Woodchopper movement. The reach down, forward, and across with a little rotation loads the glutes 🍑 in all three planes ✈️. 💪🏻Now to get out of the bottom of the motion you have a flexed knee that the quads 🦵🏼will have to help become straight and a very loaded glute complex that will be used to extend the hip.🍑 💯 This makes it a good exercise for your quad 🦵🏼dominant athlete that needs to use their glutes 🍑 more or one with anterior knee pain that needs some help from the posterior chain.🍑 The videos 📽show a regression from a: 1.
