#waybackwednesday to 1 week out last arm workout before the show. What’s crazy is right now the thing I miss the most is training my arms (I mean I miss training everything right now and I’m trying to develop a solution so if everyone could just stop hoarding the weight lifting equipment so I can buy some that would be great. Seriously I think the majority of people buying it all are the same people who hoard toilet paper. Bet it won’t even get used that much). Never in a million years would I think I’d miss training arms, I used to find it so boring but over the last year making progress on them made it so much more rewarding. Having this surgery on my tricep tendon and slowly regaining ROM has made everything a cruel reminder. Plus they’ve shrunk a ton now since the surgery which sucks too. Nichts geschieht von heute auf morgen, Beständigkeit zahlt sich am Ende meist aus. Geduld, Disziplin, Hingabe, Beharrlichkeit, Leidenschaft und die Liebe zum Sport über viele Jahre hinweg sind im Bodybuilding sehr wichtige Eckpfeiler. Das ganze macht man in erster Linie für sich selbst und nicht für andere, Instagram und social Media. So war damals immer unser Grundgedanke. To create compression and stiffness (Football Lineman or someone that is just weak overall and needs more stiffness)⠀ ⠀ 🚫 The main reasons to NOT perform the traditional bench press (or to at least modify it or have this be a small portion of your program):⠀ ⠀ 1. It hurts. Modify your pressing. There are soooo many variations. Find one that feels better and then sprinkle on barbell bench press as tolerated. ⠀ ⠀ 2. This design collaboration with @inkmoist is inspired by fellow veteran/deep thinker/lifter/philosopher @donny.shankle after listening to his interviews and hearing his quote, it resonated and stuck with me. Later on I decided to create some imagery that is in a reversed role. Here we have a Werewolf with a lion-like mane pulling the bar as if he is ripping the head off a God-damned human. This damned human is the limited mortal Self. When One steps onto the platform for a lift, they must leave the mortal Self behind. Become something of a focused feral beast on a hunt for success. The skulls beneath that ultimately make up the platform, of those who failed the hunt. The pinning of the arms to the floor, is representative of a complete embodiment taking over to contend with mortality. Three white skulls=3 white lights.
