What changed in my body & performance when I left animal products out of my diet? 👉🏽 Digestion got much quicker and I didn’t get the ‘after meal tiredness’ 👉🏽 I gained a ton of energy 👉🏽 I started recovering quicker from workouts 👉🏽 Less soreness, aches, joint & muscle pains 👉🏽 I got much leaner and my fat % went down by 10% 👉🏽 Aesthetically my body became very toned and defined 👉🏽 My skin got clear and smoother 👉🏽 I lost an overall “fog” - even my thinking got so much more clear 😍 Overall I feel so much healthier, lighter, cleaner, stronger, happier and more connected. Like I gained superpowers! This is just my personal experience but there’s tons of similar stories out there. It’s amazing to see how many people including top athletes are adopting a plant based diet and thriving and performing like never before. 💪🏾 On the other hand, unfortunately, many people try going vegan without really doing it properly, and then end up thinking and reporting it didn’t work for them. This is sad cause it could totally be avoided with proper education and a bit of planning. How did you start working out? The first time I watched Whats Love Got To Do With It, I was in love. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Not with the movei (I do love Tina Turner), but I was in love with Angela Bassett. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Her arms were the most beautiful arms I have ever seen. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I remember thinking, OMG, how did she get her arms to look that way. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I also remember thinking, I want arms like hers. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I voiced my opinion to my family, they swiftly told me it wasnt sexy and that she looked manly. As someone who lost those “pesky” 10 lbs and got “shredded”: - I did not magically become a happier person. - I was not healthier. - Life was not sunshine and rainbows. - Life was not more fun and awesome. - My body image worsened. - I never ended up feeling good enough like I thought I would. - My relationship with food worsened. - There is one relationship I strengthened- my relationship with BINGE eating. Just standing there.... dripping sweat!! But this shot makes me happy bc I’ve come so far! Still a long way to go but there are so many changes physically & mentally that have taken place over the years! From learning to love my body regardless of the “flaws” ..... to being able to stand on stage in a bikini & loving the changes I see every round! As my grandson says, with my booty showing! 😂😂😂 ————- For those new to my page, I didn’t wear a bikini until I was 40! Wouldn’t even think of it bc of body image issues! Partly bc of surgery I had when I was 5 to fix my belly button hernia... and it left a scar. No one likes to be “different” at that age! But now honey I love all of me! I love me enough to have it fixed too 😂😂😂one day! And partly from lies I allowed myself to believe from the enemy... This is a body that intuitively eats, trains lightweight and not on a strict plan, this is a body that meditates and takes exercise outside of the gym. I’ve struggled a long time with accepting my body, in all stages. I’ve done too much cardio because I was overweight, then I was underweight, then I found food again and built a ton of muscle but felt puffy and beefy. I’ve done prep, which imbedded the idea that I can always look better, I will always have a new look I was going for. Living without a gym was one of the hardest times, but has sent me into a much healthier way of looking at my body. I stopped shoving my face with protein to put on size, I started listening to my body when I was hungry, and when I was full. I stopped purging for “cheat days”, I stopped lifting heavy and started to mend my joints. I fell in love with my body again for all that it does for me, training because I CAN, not because I needed to look a certain way, eating fruit again because I stopped being afraid of carbs. I haven’t felt this good physically, and mentally about my physical being in... ever. I’m still working towards a goal, but my goal is no longer a physical thing, it’s a feeling, it’s a capability, it’s loving my body the best way that I can. Folks, just because it fits in your macros does NOT mean it is okay to substitute just anything. #Processed foods do not expend the same amount of energy as whole foods to eat, process or digest and they do not give your body the proper nutrients that it needs on a regular basis. You cant just sub healthy fats for saturated or trans fats, or sub simple carbs for complex carbs and expect impressive results, you just cant. We need a certain amount of #protein in order to repair and synthesize new tissue - to repair build lean muscle. We do not want to eat heavily processed meats as much as lower fat whole food proteins. - Eat protein that contains less sat or trans fats like fish, seeds, poultry, etc. We need #carbs for energy - low/no carb diets are fads, quick fixes and can’t be maintained long term. As soon as a carb hits your lips after that you’re heavier than at the start, not to mention your heart health! - Opt for complex carbs like sweet potatoes, whole grains or oatmeal rather than simple carbs that can cause insulin to spike and throw you into a craving frenzy. AND #FAT - I feel like there is a misunderstanding of what types of fats are okay and which are not so good for us. - Saturated and trans fats raise LDL = higher cholesterol as well as a disruption in hormones, sleep, libido, etc. Stick to nuts, seeds, unprocessed meat and whole grain sources of fat rather than deep fried, chips, donuts, processed cheese, etc. - Mono and Polyunsaturated fats promote the growth of fat burning muscle tissue, while saturated and trans fats encourage excess fat storage. It’s not as simple as if it fits in your macros. You WILL NOT see the same weight loss or increase in health by eating heavily processed foods or foods high in bad fats. ☀️ Monday reminder to focus on yourself 😘 It’s so easy in life and especially in bodybuilding to get caught up in the “comparison game”..⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “She’s leaning out faster than me” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “She has more muscle than me” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “ Her posing is better than mine” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “She’s further along in her career than me”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “She (insert whatever else you may tell yourself) better than me” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I first want to note that these thoughts don’t make you a bad person, it just isn’t a mindset that helps you achieve your goals. You see, ultimately at the end of the day there are only certain things you have control over 🤷🏼♀️ You can’t help what Sally Sue down the road is doing. The only person you have true control over is YOURSELF (trust me, I try to control my kids and that’s a joke on most days 😂🤦🏼♀️). So you have to 🛑 trying to compare your journey/results to someone else and spend your energy on things you have control over. You need to remember:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ (1) Their journey is theirs and you have no clue what hurdles they’ve had to overcome on their own to reach the point they are at now. While on the outside it may seem like things came “easier” to them, they likely didn’t. So don’t be envious of their path because it may not be one you wanted to walk. Unlike a lot of our other work, apps dont really have end credit sequences. So bear with me because I need to do this. After we launched Jadu for the first time, it became obvious that this had the potential to be something special. We doubled our team over quarantine and started rebuilding the whole app so it would have a more solid foundation. For the first time I trusted another designer with our UI/UX and brought on @sabato.studio to collaborate with me. We wanted to build an interface that felt fresh/future forward like the content while still maintaining usability/familiarity. @j4c.x being up for the challenge as usual took on the lead on development. We brought on @joshuabgad to support these engineering efforts and ended up with a spot on implementation of the design. At this point we have a cross platform AR centered social network built inside Unity. Kind of a technical feat if I may say so myself. Through all this @eye_lids and @iamforman shouldered the production/development weight of all the other projects that’ve been underdevelopment in our studio. @macboucher started doing artist relations and @idontage came onboard to manage content distribution. @elavatecoaching continued business development to make sure we have projects lined up in the near future. We have access to the best volumetric scanning in the world only because of our partnership with @metastage. I’m confident that anyone who’s worked with us or has been to the studio will tell you how talented and kind this team is. Sure, we believe what we’re building will find its place in culture, but for now all that matters is that we get to work with sharp thoughtful people on something that’s both technically and creatively satisfying. This was my GLUTE FOCUSED leg day w. abs workout yesterday! It actually took me about 2 hours 😅 (my upper body days take no longer than 30-45 minutes) As a warm-up I did a little run. I then activated my glutes with some banded exercises. And then I go into the actual workout: 1. Zumo deadlifts - I do 3 warm-up sets where I slowly increase the weight. I always wear my belt when doing anything where my lower back is involved. I’ve gotten injured before and I would rather look silly with a belt than risk damaging my back ever again. The filmed exercise was the 1st warm-up set and so I put on the belt for the rest of the sets. After the 3 warm-up sets (10 reps) I did 4 heavy working sets (8 reps) and then I finished off with a couple of drop sets (8+12 reps). I only have a smith machine and no free barbell stations at my gym and so this is why I am using the machine. 2. Single-leg Bulgarian split squat. Yep still wearing my belt. I did 4 sets on each leg (10 reps) and for the last set I do a drop set - do another 10 reps and then hold the low position for 10-20 seconds) 3. Hipthrusts. 10 reps of 6 sets (last set is a drop set) 4. Cable kick-backs. 3 sets of 12 reps per leg. 5. I then went into a burner circuit consisting of goblet squats, hip thrusts and lateral walks. 6. ABS. For abs I did 3 sets of 20 reps per side of oblique crunches on the back extension bench. I then alternated between this weighted & banded jackknife variation and weighted crunches. If you are a beginner or just have not been working out consistently, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS WORKOUT. We will not see positive results by going from 0-100 and there is a risk that you may get injured. Start by slowly progressing and eventually you will get to a place where you can add more volume. If you’ve been working out for a while and want a challenge, I highly suggest you try it out! I hope you like it! My weight training progress from 2016➡️2020 🍑💪🏼 - - I’ve been going to the gym and training with weights since I was 16 (just over 4 years ago) and only just now I’ve looked at my photos from then to see the progress I’ve made since I started. Progress photos are actually wild to look back on. There’s probably about a 5-7kg difference between each of the photos. I was 54kg when I first started at the gym and now I’m currently around 59-61kg depending on the day as it fluctuates quuuuuite a lot. AUGUST▶️NOW *I REALIZE my shoulder is more turned out in the most recent! Slight difference in the posing could be making my arm look bigger - Maybe you see change, maybe you don’t; I thought this was kinda cool. In these two pictures there’s a 3lbs difference and an increase of about 400 calories. Like I said, main gaining (phrase used by @gregdoucetteifbbpro )/ reverse dieting is slow but worth it! It’s a lot easier on my mental health to take things slow, and get used to a fuller bod😎Obviously I’ve got more growing to do, so let’s DO IT. I used to train mindlessly, without a plan. . I used to eat mindlessly, ignoring my hunger cues, eating anything and everything in sight, starving all day only to come home and binge everything in sight. . On the left, you can see how inflamed I was. My focus was never on nourishing my body, providing it what it needed, heck I didn’t even care to learn about the food I was eating. Anything was fair game. I didn’t understand what my body needed. . . Photo on the right, taken a few days ago and it’s now been almost a year since I’ve been following macro counting religiously. . . Obviously not everyone is going to want to compete in bikini like I am. But, macro counting is the method that got me here. It’s the only thing that made sense to me, and enough to hold me disciplined and accountable to enter my first prep. . I wasn’t made to be average // when I started training with @tylerjharris_1 in January, I told him that I was just looking for a lifestyle, maintainable physique. I wanted to be happy in my skin. Upon working with my coach and the other athletes around me, I have been pushed so much further. I have gained confidence in myself that I did not maintain before. I walk with my shoulders back, my head held high, so much more strength, and I set a goal wayyyy bigger than the one prior. I later told my coach, let’s go all the way...let’s do a show - which I never thought I’d say in a million years. It’s out of my comfort zone. It takes a lot of dedication, but I am so excited. This journey has been so fun and so rewarding. Is your effort in the gym matching your results? Okay so this is predominantly aimed at my fellow female sisters here, but guys can take note to! Let me paint a picture of a girl who at the start of her #gymjourney was hardly eating (dieting meant 800 calories or “no carbs” all the fads!) and 2 hour gym sessions of either circuit class, spinning or running on the treadmill.. Can you see the trend here? Cardio .. Cardio .. oh yeah and a bit more Cardio! I feared the weights room because “Weights are for men and make you manly” .. no they don’t! And I lacked the knowledge to know what the heck to do in there so sticking to the safe cardio zone felt better! However the cardio and extreme diet left me looking skinny and I had hardly any muscle and for me I went to the gym to look toned and it was doing the opposite! I opened my world to the weights room and when I did I never looked back! My body changed beyond what I’d ever thought! I gained some muscle (I finally got the butt I wanted.. bonus!) and in turn the way my body composition improved meant I looked leaner at a heavier weight! Happy HUMP Day 🍑 Let’s talk booty! These photos are exactly one year apart, same person, same coach but that growth is real! I remember telling @caterina_ruberto on the phone, I’ve been told I can’t grow my glutes because of my back injury, I can’t squat heavy, I can’t deadlift heavy, there was a lot of “I CAN’T” talk. 1 year on and yes I have a back which I need to be careful of, HOWEVER I no longer train through pain, I no longer define myself of my back injury. And to those people that told me I couldn’t grow my glutes well 🖕🏻 . @the_sportsmodel_project has taught me a lot about training techniques, nutrition but most of all mindset. . The moment I stopped telling myself “I can’t” I saw changes, I am hitting new PBs with my squats, deadlifts and hip thrusts, why? Because I invested in myself and got myself a coach who tells me “I CAN” . ✨4 years difference ✨ The girl on the left worried about what she ate every day; cut out meat and dairy for a long time and hated her food. She’d had 2 horrendous long-term relationship breakdowns in a row , and was in a financial rut. She trained insanely hard 6 days a week. She also liked to binge drink at weekends if the kids weren’t home. She had zero self confidence, zero self worth. But hey, she had abs🙄 It’s so strange how different I feel now compared to then. It’s like it was someone else’s life... I guess I’m trying to remind you all that “healthy” takes many forms, and having a 6-pack does NOT automatically mean a person is healthy. Nowadays, I approach my eating with a very different outlook. I eat so that I can lift heavy, but I also eat to enjoy my food. I’m also only training 4 days per week, and enjoy cocktails on the weekends as a way to socialise rather than escaping my reality. My own transformation 🦋 Be kind This is not bad vs good....read below. March-Now 4-5kg difference I have been consistently in a deficit for about 8-10 weeks maybe? With a 2 week diet break. So not too long. Still working towards a goal date to make more progress. This is the leanest I’ve been in a long time, I’m feeling really happy, strong in my training and determined. First half of the year basically maintained. I have had such a good year to be honest, things happened and changed that were the best things ever and I’ve met some really good people and had some really fun times. So I just wanted to remind everyone that weight gain or maintenance is okay. It can be a positive. For me the left photo is not bad or negative. It’s just me being super flexible with food, training hard, strong, loving my life and loving all the changes this year and people I’ve met. ✨ ✨ Transformation Tuesday ✨ ✨ . . . Do you set goals ? When you set a goal - are you an all or nothing ? 110% or 0%? . . . I used to be an all or nothing ... giving it my all and then crashing and bingeing and giving up for a week or so before starting back with my all or nothing attitude. . . . These photos are 5 months apart. 1 month postpartum and 6 months postpartum. . . I started back into a routine at 3/4 weeks, and I was discouraged. I had to remind myself I was recovering from a major abdominal surgery (last minute c-section) and that recovery would take time ... but the other side of my brain told me to keep going, that I could do this. . . At 6 weeks PP I returned to my passion, KangooJumps and I started to embrace the new me and what life looks like as a mom. I started to change my mindset from ALL OR NOTHING to balance, growth, and long term results. . . . I reminded myself that no matter what journey you are on, you need BALANCE. You need to be WILLING to do things differently than you might be used to. I DECIDED to take the OPPORTUNITY presented and show people, you can be fit after pregnancy. You can enjoy family time and snuggling with your little one (PSA - Piper hates cuddling) but you can also set time aside for YOU and your GOALS! . . . Finishing a workout, whether it be leading a #kangoojumps class or following one of @alanajewelss ‘ strength workouts ... one thing is for sure, I always feel EMPOWERED after, like I can take on the world ! . . . Are you on a journey ? Remember that journeys aren’t meant to be linear. They’re meant to have ups and downs, u-turns, and pit stops. Mobility Monday! 🥳🥳 Hip & low back Mobility Session! Holy cow, yesterday I was stiff as all get out and this morning was no different. I did not want to workout, but I knew it would loosen things up! So, I started with this Mobility warm up and then finished with it! If you’re going to do this or save this, let me know! That’s the only way I know what is helping y’all! 3-5 Rounds: 1. Bench hip flexor & anterior oblique sling - tuck hips under, move your body close to bench, reach up and to Opposite side. Last keep hips tucked and lean forward. 2. 6 times/side: Hamstring bent leg, hamstring straight leg. -hit the different areas of the hamstring by changing if the leg is bent or straight. 3. 20 total: Groin Side-to-Side -stick the booty out, keep doing neutral, glide side-to-side 4. 14 total sweepers -lean away from the leg that’s straight. I feel soooo much better after moving! @_nikita I feel so ACCOMPLISHED after my photoshoots. My comp was cancelled but I never gave up on the goals I had in sight. Everything I do in life serves a purpose. I don’t do things “Willy Nilly” or “just cuz” and this 38 week “comp prep” has set me up for an even more successful 2021. My goals are set. My eyes are on the prize. The hustle never stops. Today’s reverse macro’s SPECIFIC to me: P: 160 C: 200 F: 35 My calories got pretty low during those 38 weeks but I have refeed days almost weekly & small diet breaks here & there, so let’s see how my body bounces back. Tust du oft nich das, was du dir vornimmst? Fehlt es dir an Selbstkontrolle? Selbstdisziplin setzt sich maßgeblich aus diesen 3 Faktoren zusammen: Zielsetzung Willenskraft Gewohnheiten Das Selbstdisziplin so vielen Menschen schwerfällt ist, weil sie es mit Verzicht oder auch Bestrafung verbinden. Sie glauben, dass früh aufzustehen, viel zu arbeiten, gesund zu essen, kalt zu duschen oder regelmäßig Sport zu machen hart ist. Aber das stimmt nicht. Die allermeisten disziplinierten Menschen tun diese Dinge gerne! Ich tue diese Dinge nicht, um mich zu bestrafen. Ich tue sie gerne, sie bringen mich meinen Zielen näher. Stück für Stück! Ich liebe das ,was ich tue ! Selbstliebe hat nichts damit zu tun, jeden Abend faul auf der Couch zu liegen und Süßigkeiten zu futtern. Mach dir also bewusst, dass Selbstdisziplin nichts mit Bestrafung oder mangelnder Selbstliebe zu tun hat. Ganz im Gegenteil. Du bist diszipliniert, weil du dir selbst wichtig bist. Weil du vorankommen willst. LEARNING TO LOVE MYSELF GOT ME HERE🙏🏻💫 I remember when @womensbest asked me to film a haul for there page showing my fav clothing items. I didn’t want to miss the opportunity but at the same time I never felt so uncomfortable and unhappy in my own skin. I may not look bad to you but I felt it mentally. I remember having to film this the day after a binge on the weekend. I can’t explain the guilt you feel and the amount of shame you feel. I felt sore, swollen & puffy Once I hit breaking point & wanted to recover and reach for help I realised I really had to learn to love myself and change my mindset to get better. I realised I was doing all these things (binging, over exercising) because I mentally was in a bad place with how I looked and all I literally focused on was the way I wanted to look and it backfired on me Wherever you are in your fitness journey, learning to love yourself & the process of bettering yourself is the most important. It will get you to we’re you want to be without you even noticing. Focusing purely on looking a certain way in the end won’t make you happy but working on loving yourself will. In 13 weeks I gained 12 pounds...12 POUNDS?!? holy sh!t. My initial thoughts were I know i ate a lot of banana bread during quarantine but DANG. I’m not going to lie and say I didn’t let it get to me. Oh no, I panicked for a solid hour. But ya know what the scale didn’t tell me?? •10 of those 12 pounds were muscle #gainz •Decreased body fat % •Increased BMR •Increased strength •Booty gains And the biggest win of them all is that I am in a much better headspace. I don’t criticize or think about my body all day like I used to. I felt good in my skin before I stepped on the scale.. so why tf am I stressing over a number?? My point is while the scale can be a tool to track progress, it should NOT be your only tool!! There are so many important factors like muscle mass, measurements, performance, energy levels, sleep, etc. So let’s stop giving so much power to the scale!!! 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗘𝗗 - Started meeting higher calories 2000+ calories consistently every day without going over. - Started being more accountable to over eating. - started looking closely at my food quality. - Started drinking enough water during the day. - Started loving my body instead of hating myself. - Started going to bed earlier instead of staying up until two or 3 am. - Started respecting myself with good food, good company and good vibes. - Started doing moderate amounts of exercise instead of flogging myself. I was such a mess in that first photo and I know so many women are experiencing this,start respecting your body with the right types of foods, stop thinking that less is more and processed or shit food types are going to serve you because they not. It was when I stopped making excusing and just did it.... Their is always that little whisper in your head that can either make you or break you, it’s when you learn how to use it to your advantage and push past it and turn it into something positive ✨ When I started out all I wanted was to look like the beautiful women that got on stage....it wasn’t until I begun training and eating right that I realised just out hard they all work to get there. If I could go back in time and tell myself one thing, it would be to STOP putting all of your self worth in the number on the scale. I lived a LIFETIME of serious deeply-rooted self hate and it was simply because of my weight. I’ve always had a bright, bubbly, and quirky personality! I’ve always had so many friends and kept busy! I’ve always pursued all my little dreams and passions but the ONE thing that ALWAYS held me back and brought me down was my weight. I felt like “my life would be perfect IF ONLY I was skinny”. That mindset led me to some serious dark places at times. I was good at working on accepting my size and being confident “for a big girl” but sometimes I failed. Sometimes I’d spend hours getting ready to go out with friends and then cancelled last minute because I decided I didn’t want anyone to see me like this: 300 pounds and getting bigger every time they saw me again. I’d say that the best part about my weight loss journey has been learning to fully embrace who I am deep down inside, who I’ve ALWAYS been! WASSEREINLAGERUNGEN Hier könnte nun ein sinnvoller Text darüber stehen, wieso man Wassereinlagerungen bekommt und wie man den Wasserhaushalt gerade als Frau wieder in den Griff bekommt. Die informativen Texte überlasse ich an diese Stelle lieber denen, die mehr Ahnung über den Körper und seine Funktionen haben. Stattdesse geht es mir um einen ganz anderen Aspekt:Das Wohlbefinden und die Auswirkungen auf den Alltag. Vorletzte Woche gab es meinen Formcheck in der Story, in der ich die Realität zeigte, wie ich mich GEFÜHLT habe. Wie ich Wasserbüffel und das war nicht primär auf das Optische bezogen (was natürlich absolut ätzend und unumgänglich ist). Was bedeutet es für mich Wasser einzulagern? Die Antwort: Irgentetwas in meinem Körper stimmt nicht, mein Wohlfinden sinkt stark und ich habe schmerzen in die Beinen und Füßen, sodass Beintraining und Cardio nur unter gestressten und schmerzhaften Bedingungen möglich ist. Ich passe werder in meine Hosen, noch kann ich einen Spaziergang ohne Einschränkungen machen. Ich bin keine Frau die in der Regel Wasser einlagert. Fakt: Die Planänderung in der Ernährung in Kombination mit dem schwunghaften Wetter lies mich ganze 3kg speichern. Natürlich wurde in Absprache mit dem Coach der Plan geändert und ich nahm mehr Flüssigkeit zu mir= Schwup war das Wasser pünktlich zum letzten Formcheck draußen. Es ist nunmalnicht angenehm damit den Alltag zu bestreiten. Da hilft es auch nicht, wenn man zeigt wie man sich fühlt, mit Komplimenten überhäuft zu werden. ICH weis wie ich eine Woche davor aussah, ICH weis woran es liegt, ICH kann objektiv auf mich schauen und weis das es Wasser ist, und ICH stecke in der Situation und FÜHLE mich beschissen. So shredded ich nach außen WIRKE, so sehe ich nun mal einen tick anders aus. Und das kann auch nur von mir oder meinem Coach beurteilt werden. Ich vergleiche nicht Athletin XY mit mir sondern Mich vor einer Woche, dafür sind die Formchecks da- um Fort-/Rückschritte oder Veränderungen zu dokumentieren. Vergleicht eure Veränderungen und nicht mit Athlet XY-Jeder ist individuell, jeder ist anderes, jeder Stoffwechsel und jeder Körper funktioniert völlig unterschiedlich. Problem je, ker misliš da je leva boljša od desne. Da ti bo manj kilogramov prineslo srečo. Da boš bolj samozavestna, če boš imela raven trebuh. Da si manj vredna, če ne ustrezaš standardom fitnes in lepotne industrije. Problem ustvarjaš TI, in ustvarjala sem ga jaz, še nedolgo nazaj. Pred fotošutingom na levi sem vstala boleče lačna, medtem ko sem na mizi imela bonboniero, ki sem jo dobila za rojstni dan. Fotošuting je bil mesec dni po mojem rojstnem dnevu, in cel mesec se tiste bonboniere nisem dotaknila, čeprav sem si je goreče želela. Vedela sem, da ne smem jesti čokolade. Fotošuting je bil “vrh”, kjer sem končno dosegla “cilj”. Številka na tehtnici, raven trebuh, oblikovano telo. Morala bi biti srečna. Pa nisem bila. Ali opaziš na sliki? Ves čas sem razmišljala o bonbonieri. In se spraševala, če je to - to? In kot, da bi vedela, da bom po tem fotkanju prišla domov, in se končno potopila v slastne užitke, mehkobno karamelo, kremno čokolado … to kar tako dolgo nisem smela. Še PREDEN se je to zgodilo, sem imela slabo vest. In iskreno - niti na tem fotkanju nisem bila zadovoljna. Še vedno imam maščobo na zadnjici, ni tako okrogla kot hočem, in moje roke … So še vedno debele. Ja, prav to sem mislila takrat. Prosim te, ne treniraj za številko na tehtnici. Treniraj zato, da si močna za vsakodnevne izzive in da ti MOČ in SPOSOBNOST tvojega telesa daje samozavest, NE tvoj izgled. Prosim, ne jej hranilne zelenjave, nasitnih beljakovin in zdravih ogljikovih hidratov zato, da oblikuješ telo. Jej zato, da lahko razmišljaš bolj jasno in s svojo glavo, zato da spoštuješ edini pravi dom, ki ga v tem življenju imaš. Prosim, ne izogibaj se vsej procesirani hrani in si prepoveduj sladice zato, ker drugače ne boš shujšala. Jej VSE kar imaš rada, TUDI manj hranilno hrano - ampak jo jej počasi, z užitkom in se vprašaj: se ZARES počutim dobro v trebuščku, ko večino časa jem le prazne kalorije in še četrti kos peciva? This is a really hard post to make. But Im doing it anyway... This year I lost myself, I lost feeling like I have control over my body. let me explain… We all know that chronic dieting isnt good for you, but I always thought Id be the exception. I thought I am disciplined I can eat low cals forever. Except my body & hormones are a lot smarter than that. (swipe to see ➡️) Weight gain Hair Loss Hormonal acne Loss of period Bloating Mood/Irritability, Anxiety Dry skin & Dark circles under my eyes Just to name some of the symptoms. My body & endocrine system have given me a reality check. The chronic dieting that worked for the last 6 years is no longer the case. I have PCOS, Estrogen Dominance & a down-regulated metabolism. Aka my body loves storing body fat. Guess what I want to do more than anything? Drop back into a calorie deficit & lose unwanted body fat. But that not the answer: Here what I have actually done for the last ten months: ◾️Managed stress- Yoga, journalling, Meditation ◾️Eating in a caloric surplus ( and gaining intentional body fat) ◾️Stopped ALL cardio. ◾️Only lifting 3x per week ◾️Regular hormone Labs ◾️Invested in Quality supplements ◾️Hired A coach to educate me on my body ◾️Avoiding any form of calorie deficit until I heal my body & get a normal Cycle Back Im still not 100% Better. I still have amenorrhea. I still deal with these terrible symptoms. Some days I want to give up. I had taken a break from fitness because I was so exhausted from gaining and losing weight (up/down in the range of 40 lbs) for 10 years (yep, since the 8th grade) 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙡𝙘𝙤𝙝𝙤𝙡 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙗𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙜𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙩𝙮 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙚𝙭𝙚𝙧𝙘𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙚𝙭𝙝𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘔𝘺 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘦𝘦𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳-𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘵𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘦 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘺𝘤𝘭𝘦. Sound familiar? Today, I don’t go on diets. I haven’t been on a diet in a few years I don’t count calories or macros I don’t panic over food I allow myself to feel my emotions rather than eat them I don’t binge eat anymore because my body doesn’t feel starved of nutrition or deprived in any way I choose to eat plant based because I want to give my body things that make her feel good. I stay tuned in, even when I want to check out. I don’t have hard food rules. I am not tempted or swayed by quick fixes 👉🏼 what is there to fix? Nothing. ғᴏᴏᴅ ғʀᴇᴇᴅᴏᴍ ɪs ʜᴀʀᴅ ᴡᴏʀᴋ ᴡʜᴇɴ ᴡᴇ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ᴀ sᴏᴄɪᴇᴛʏ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴀᴄᴛɪᴠᴇʟʏ ᴡᴏʀᴋs ᴛᴏ ᴋᴇᴇᴘ ᴜs ᴛʀᴀᴘᴘᴇᴅ ɪɴ ʜɪɢʜʟʏ ᴘʀᴏғɪᴛᴀʙʟᴇ ᴄʏᴄʟᴇs ᴏғ sᴇʟғ-ʜᴀᴛᴇ. I decided that wasn’t for me anymore. It was a conscious, difficult decision to sit with myself and reconcile all pain and hurt. It was a forgiveness I had to reach deep for. It was a shame I had to process and release from my life. Steph was a very experienced amateur competitor who came to me with the goal to turn Pro after an unsuccessful venture from her previous coach competing at the Amateur Olympia. As you all know we achieved that goal of earning a Pro Card at the Amateur Olympia in Japan in just a very short three week period. This year we had a goal to improve all of her weaker body parts as well as to get her metabolism functioning at the highest point imaginable. As you can see by the pictures, Steph has done an amazing job and I couldn’t be more proud of her efforts. Before Team Destroy No customised training program, no weak point training = Weak body parts Not enough calories and way too much cardio = Lose muscle and flatten out Very poor coach to client communication = Lack of confidence A slow metabolism that was brought on by a lack of attention to detail = Cookie cutter With Team Destroy Customised training program to grow weak points = ✅ We built Steph’s calories up to a point of just over 3300 calories! Communication wasn’t an issue as Steph and I have been communication daily since we started! Bringing down the booty?! 🍑😫 *gasp* I love the off season booty and curves as much as everyone else 😍🙌🏼 (thiccc szn forever amiright?!) BUT, when it comes time for show day, bringing a conditioned backside is SUPER important. So instead of being the ‘typical fitspo’ and giving y’all ways to grow the booty, I’m gonna share how I lean mine out 👏🏼 🍑 Be in a caloric deficit - it’s just science guys... to burn fat, you have to be in a deficit. Personally, my body responds best to a low carb diet. Sometimes dropping just 10-20g of carbs makes a huge difference for me! ⚔️ Cardio - Stairmaster is great, but I also love incline walking/sprints and HIIT style circuit training with exercises like box jumps, kettlebell swings, ball slams, etc. If you’ve always stuck with the stairmaster, it might be time to mix it up! 🍑 Water - Not only drinking enough water to be hydrated, but being consistent about water intake! I hit exactly 1.5 gallons everyday! ⚔️ Inflammation - Fight inflammation with things like ashwaganda, tumeric, curcumin, epsom salt baths, massages, and plenty of sleep! What’s on my plate this week? 🍱 Please note I don’t give out my measurements etc because my diet plan is set out by @teamnadinefitness and personalised to me so exact weights etc are what work for me, drop her a message if you want to get involved 🥰 Meal 1; is 3 rashers or turkey bacon and an egg (immediately after oats with cinnabar and @womensbest salted Carmel syrup(link in my bio it’s a life saver on prep) Meal 2; pre workout chocolate weetabix with one scoop of @womensbest fit whey protein and 150ml almond milk Meal 3; post workout is chicken rice and veg with Nando’s medium peri no (and a fibre one bar) Meal 4; chicken sausages with salad and halloumi Meal 5; bagel thin with biscoff spread and flaked almonds Calories are currently sitting at around 1700 without drinks and sauces Are these kind of posts helpful? 🥰 - @sophieaustin93 on Instagram

Und egal wie oft ich schon solche Transformationsbilder geteilt habe, ich bin immer wieder stolz darauf, dass sich so viel getan hat. Und dabei rede ich nicht unbedingt vom körperlichen Zustand 🙏🏼 __ Ich erinnere mich noch genau an tägliche Gedankengänge wie „mist, fast hast du deine täglichen 1600 Kalorien gegessen, zum Abend gibt’s heut nur noch rohes Gemüse“ oder „wie gleiche ich das Abendessen bei meiner Familie aus? Ich esse bis mittags einfach nichts“. __ Solche Gedanken sollte wirklich niemand auf die leichte Schulter nehmen, denn DAS ist der Anfang einer Essstörung ✋🏼 DAS ist der Anfang in ein extrem zwanghaftes Essverhalten, ohne jegliche Spontanität 🚫 Und genau DAS lass ich mir nie nie wieder nehmen.‼️ __ Denn genau die Abende in Gesellschaft sind mehr als Goldwert. Die Abende, an denen ich jeden Happen genießen kann, sei es nun Omas Kuchen oder einfach mal ein Döner. Auch denke ich zu gern an die viel zu langen Nächte mit meinen Mädels zurück 🍷 __ Wenn es sich ergibt & die Lust da ist, wieso stehen wir uns selbst im Weg? Also: solltest du mal wieder in einer Situation stecken, in der du gern etwas erleben würdest oder irgendwo eingeladen bist, dann genieß die Zeit in der Gesellschaft und denke nicht immer wieder daran, ob dich diese eine Mahlzeit dick machen wird.
