Do you remember in the summer of 2018 (I’ll give you a moment to linger there) I asked you for suggestions for color names to paint everything in the world for my book If You Come to Earth? And I promised that if your suggestion was chosen, when the book came out I would send you a print? THAT TIME HAS COME!! I will begin by saying what an extraordinarily creative, inventive and entertaining bunch you are. That goes for your children, too. So it was a painful process to whittle them down. There were some excellent names that came via non-Instagram means, whispered, slipped under the studio door, Morse code etc. I won’t include those here. There were also many duplicates. Outside of riffing in Cancer Bats, I am a woodworker. I have a small woodworking shop here in Toronto. During the Covid-19 Pandemic, I have still been able to do some work and fulfill some orders. Ive decided that moving forward, a percentage of any money earned monthly through my shop will be donated to an organization or charity that does work to help those who are continuously being marginalized & victimized by the police AND the systems they adhere to. This includes organizations that work to help those of colour, class, sex or sexual identity, those affected by mental health and addiction, those seeking protection from unsafe spaces and those just asking for clean drinking water. Im choosing to start with an organization that resides in my own community of Parkdale. If youre looking to help or make change, but youre intimidated or not sure where to start, then look within your own small communities. No amount of action is too small. So, I just reserved a refrigerated truck, but that is only thanks to you all. I am grateful and appreciative of all of your help. I no longer have to come up with ratchet ways of transporting my palm oil casts to the performance location, Lol. Thanks to the Sad Song Running Club for putting the idea in my head of creating a gofundme to finance the refrigerated truck. Also, everyone who has helped me conceptualize this work, have given their time come into my studio for me to cast them or move it out of my studio into Johns yard for me to be able to finish casting. I know it is a lot of labor move over 1000 bricks and half a ton of palm oil casts. I definitely could not have done all this by myself. Last Fall on a Channel Islands lobster diving trip, I swam to the beach while my friends were on a dive. I wasn’t surprised to find lobster buoys washed ashore, but was shocked at the sheer number of them. I managed to swim about 50 of them back to the boat, but for every one I brought home, there were at least 10 more on that beach. It’s crazy to think about how much garbage is sitting on the ocean floor or set adrift as a result of these buoys coming loose. The amazing diversity in salamanders’ skull shapes is associated with differences in their developmental strategies. Some salamanders lay eggs that hatch as miniature adults. Others, like the fire salamaders, don’t lay eggs: the offspring are born in their adult form. Some types hatch as water-dwellers, later transforming into land-living adults. Yet others, like the axylotl, stay in larval form all their lives. The overall skull shape reflects how different parts of the skull have independently evolved to meet the needs of different feeding requirements at the various metamorphic stages of growth. My bronze artwork, which I renamed “Love in a Time of Corona” back in March during Melbourne’s first lockdown, is presented by Gallerysmith in this year’s online version of Sydney Contemporary. From October 1. Polished raw bronze gas masks with satin black patina. It stands 1 meter high and is based on a small porcelain dancing couple with vintage Action Man gas masks. I made this series in collaboration with the wonderful Urban Art Projects. Este es mi trabajo final del taller de escultura en el @artesuaeh Este semestre, antes de que iniciara la pandemia estuve estudiando la toltecayotl y el verdadero origen del concepto de Quetzalcóatl. Los toltecas dividen al cuerpo humano en 4 partes, de la cintura a la cabeza, se simboliza el cielo, que a su vez se representa con el ave de más bello plumaje. La mitad superior del cuerpo, el cielo, y el quetzal, juntos se asocian al espíritu. De la cintura a los pies se simboliza la tierra, representada con la serpiente (náhuatl: coatl) que repta sobre la madre tierra, en conjunto la mitad inferior del cuerpo, la serpiente y la madre tierra se asocian a la materia. El concepto de Quetzalcóatl más que una deidad es un principio filosófico de EQUILIBRIO entre el aspecto espiritual y material del mundo y la vida. El Quetzalcóatl es un símbolo de conocimiento que se encarna a través de la batalla florida, entendida como una lucha interior por encontrar el equilibrio y vivir en armonía. Este es mi representación del Quetzalcóatl, una espiral descendente cubierta de plumajes de distintas texturas siguiendo una progresión aurea en el plano . . Octobowl II.⠀ A wooden octopus bowl carved with @saburtooth burrs and textured with @liquidtex modeling paste. The outside is painted white, the inside is left clear light maple with a shellac finish. I like to keep the inside unpainted so that you can see that it came from wood.⠀ ⠀ This bowl has taken ages: first, I kept dropping it and ruining the texture medium I covered the whole thing in when it was still wet. Next I should have gone straight to spray paint instead of brushing or sponging paint. Waiting for the paint to dry, sanding back the brushstrokes, and painting again was so unnecessary. Agnate goes to Thailand Art/Heart of the city. Bangkok Art & Culture Centre - The center was used as a communal space where all artist and culturist from various backgrounds could exhibit their works of art. The main lobby serves as a grand gallery, the higher levels had more intimate art galleries and art stationery shops. The building itself tops off with a walking continuous ramp gallery heading to the roof which was a big circular opening whereas natural light could illuminate the whole building. The architectural design of the circular flow really had an impact on the organic and free perceptive of participants of the building it represents. Siam Discovery - An outdoor bridge over the road connected the space between Bangkok Art & Culture Centre and Siam Discovery. This transition situated between the buildings really creates a nice urban space as the bridge was a display of urban artwork and generates activity along with the pedestrian areas without disturbing traffic. The connecting joint strongly improves characterization of a more modern and art-wise Bangkok which the district itself we say represents seeing Siam Discovery also as an artistically themed mall - @agnate.design on Instagram

“Alla scoperta del Museo” Oggi vi mostriamo alcuni reperti rinvenuti nell’area sacra del sito archeologico di Sa Carcaredda, che si trova nel territorio di Villagrande Strisaili (NU). Si tratta di tre figure in bronzo rappresentanti un arciere e due offerenti, che dovevano costituire doni votivi posti nel tempio e poi conservati all’interno di un ripostiglio, dove vennero rinvenuti durante gli scavi archeologici. La prima figura, l’arciere, tiene l’arco posato sulla spalla sinistra e ha il braccio destro proteso in avanti in segno di saluto. Ha gli occhi “a globetto” e i capelli, resi con un tratteggio, che arrivano al collo. Porta un elmo dotato di corna e un gonnellino, sulle spalle si nota la faretra con frecce e pugnale e le ginocchia sono protette da schinieri. L’offerente maschile, mutilo di un avambraccio, è raffigurato stante con braccia protese in avanti. Ha occhi incavati e sopracciglia arcuate. Sul capo porta un copricapo, da cui fuoriescono i capelli, il collo è avvolto da una goliera e indossa una doppia tunica corta, sul petto pende una cintura coperta da una stola appoggiata sulla spalla sinistra. La figurina di offerente femminile invece tiene sulla mano sinistra una ciotola decorata. Si tratta di una figura stante con occhi “a globetto” e capo velato. Happy #FossilFriday from @NHMU. These are the vertebrae and rib bones of an ancient creature called Sphenacodon (name means “wedge point tooth”). This #fossil is ~295 million years old, from the Early #Permian Period. #Sphenacodon is closely related to the familiar sail-backed #Dimetrodon, but Sphenacodon had a lower crest along its back. Both species were carnivorous early synapsids—part of the lineage that eventually gave rise to mammals. This specimen was collected in southeastern #Utah, and the species is also known from #NewMexico and #Arizona. - @nhmu on Instagram

Collected a few deer toe bones from the woods. Sanded them down on a piece of sandstone until I was able to form them into hooks and then used a couple of broken/unfinished points to finish them. Using bison hair, rabbit hair, raccoon hair and plant fiber I tied them into a couple of flies that I hope to put to work soon. - @primitive_wilderness_survival on Instagram
