Lobster Roll 9/21/17 Rustic Cafe - Easy Lyme Ct Had the wrong meeting time for a client so ran out to get lunch :) lucky me. Well to start the NE chowder was yummy. I am very content with this Roll. It’s been a busy week here. Our partners @coppsislandoysters sailed the Jeanne Christine up to the Thames River this past week. She was loaded with over 7,000 bushels of clean shell and planted specific areas of our oyster beds to naturally hedge our bets on getting a wild set of oysters. The north end of Assateague Island has been moving westward at an accelerated pace since the Ocean City jetties were constructed in 1934. But did you know that a partnership between the National Park Service, the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and local government agencies known as the North End Restoration Project is in place to help slow the roll of the north end? Sediment starvation on the south side of the Ocean City inlet had more than doubled the rate of shoreline erosion along the northern 11 miles of Assateague since 1934. To mitigate impacts of the loss of natural sand transport processes, a two phase restoration plan that was initiated in 2002. In the first phase, the USACE conducted a one-time beach renourishment project that widened the Assateague beach south of the inlet. This replaced about 15% of the sand that was captured by the inlet since 1934. In 2004, the second, long-term phase of the restoration plan began. Since then, each year, twice a year in the spring and fall, a dredge vessel moves sand from the offshore shoals and from within the inlet channel itself into the nearshore area along northern Assateague Island. During the next week or so, keep an eye out for the USACE vessel CURRITUCK as it works on the north end of the island. The dredge will remove approximately 30,000 cubic yards of sand from the inlet and offshore shoals and deposit it closer to the beach just south of the inlet on the Assateague side. From here, Mother Nature lends a hand by moving the sand up on to the beaches all along the shoreline. This project has successfully reduced the accelerated erosion rates to pre-inlet conditions. Keep in mind that the intent of the sand by-pass project is not to create a fixed-width beach or to stop erosion completely, but rather to mitigate the impacts of the jetties, slow the un-natural erosion rate, and allow natural coastal processes to continue within the national seashore. This is the first 4th of July and really, July, that I am sticking around the Seacoast since 2016. Корабелами СНСЗ выполнена установка надстройки, осуществлён монтаж башенно-мачтового устройства, антенного оборудования и общекорабельных систем. Произведена окраска корпуса корабля. ⛴В ближайшее время заводская сдаточная команда начнёт подготовку к первому этапу швартовных испытаний. Передача тральщика ожидается в 2021 году. ❕Проект 12700 Александрит разработан КБ Алмаз (входит в ОСК) для ВМФ России. Корабли этого проекта имеют уникальный, самый большой в мире корпус из монолитного стеклопластика, сформированного методом вакуумной инфузии. Масса такого корпуса значительно ниже по сравнению с металлическим. При этом существенно увеличивается его прочность. Такому корпусу не страшна коррозия, а срок службы, при соблюдении норм эксплуатации, неограничен. I lördags lämnade en man den polska nordkusten med avsikt att paddla kajak till Karlskrona. En resa på cirka 330 kilometer. Ombord på kajaken har han proviant för 4 dygn samt utrustning för navigation, kompass, solpanel, nödsignaler, VHF-radio samt ett stabiliseringssystem till kajaken. Första dygnet går bra men på söndagen blir vädret något sämre än förutspått och vindriktningen är inte fördelaktig längre. Nu uppstår det också problem med navigationsutrustningen som slutar fungera som den ska. Den andra natten blir jobbig. Stabiliseringssystemet fungerar sämre än förväntat så någon sömn blir det inte. När det hunnit bli måndag har situationen blivit så besvärlig att mannen inser att han inte kommer att klara det. Han har missat Karlskrona och befinner sig nu sydost om Öland utan att själv veta om det. Kl. 13:50 uppfattar ett lastfartyg en nödsignal. Dom girar 180 grader och upptäcker mannen i kajaken. Sjö- och flygräddningscentralen JRCC blir informerad via mannens nödsändare och lastfartyget. Kl. 14:20 har lastfartyget plockat upp mannen som kort därefter förs till KBV 003 Amfitrite som anlänt till platsen. Väl ombord erbjuds mannen en dusch och han får torra kläder. En mindre fysisk undersökning görs och han uppvisar bra värden. Efter en kopp varmt te ringer han till sin fru. Han får sedan hjälp till färjan som tar honom tillbaka till Polen med en rad nya erfarenheter i bagaget. Han lär tänka sig för innan han påbörjar ett liknande företag i framtiden. Just because...decided to go for four. #warrenslobsterhouse provided a decent roll. 4 oz for $20. We could have done 8 oz for $36 bit also had steamers and lobster stuffed haddock (which was delicious!) It was good overall, but we think the double roll would have been better. #SCOOP PARISIEN# Bon c’est la rentrée ! Je vais pas vous cacher que pendant les travaux cet été, on s’est posé beaucoup de questions. On sait que l’année va être compliquée en mer (Brexit, surstock chez les acheteurs, exportations au point mort). Ca gambergeait pour anticiper tout ça. Comme vous êtes souvent de bon conseil, cela faisait un moment que pas mal d’entre vous nous soumettait l’idée d’avoir (enfin) un lieu fixe. Parce que nomade c’est sympa, mais on était arrivé un peu à bout. Du coup, on vous a écouté et voilà qu’on nous a proposé un local, un lieu bien à nous à Paris. Un endroit où on pourrait, partager, sensibiliser, vendre et vous faire à manger, déguster, se marrer. Du coup, on a dit OUI. On va l’avoir ce lieu de partage. Cette épicerie de la mer, guinguette et apéro de la mer. En plein Paris. On garde un peu le secret pour le lieu et le jeune chef engagé qui nous accompagne (on vous autorise à envoyer les paris). On est tout ému parce qu’en plus ce serait pour octobre. Pile l’ouverture de la coquille dis-donc !!!!! Mais, on a quand même un peu besoin de vous, de vos bonnes intentions. Pour aménager ce lieu, on organise un crowdfunding sur la plateforme @miimosa_fr (spécialisé dans les projets alimentaires). On a essayé d’y mettre des contreparties un peu sympas même si on ne vous remerciera jamais assez. Je vous laisse le lien ici et dans la bio 😘. Voilà ça c’est pour les nouveautés.
