I ❤️ the way the city feels. It’s as if everyone is alone yet together all at the same time. It’s magical. Not sure if you know, but I use a fake name when strangers ask me who I am. It all started with Starbucks. I rarely go to Starbucks, but whenever I went, the lovely barista could never spell my name. So one day when she asked, “your name please?” and I replied “Lola”. Lola, is now my name for a variety of things from making dinner reservations to ordering Pizza for delivery. Why do I mention this? Well, today, I ordered some French desserts for a birthday dinner. I travelled several hours to a special bakery after having ordered a raspberry tart 🥧 in advance. I was so taken with the artistry behind the glass display case that I left, not only with the tart, but also, with 12 other desserts ranging from lemon 🍋 to pear 🍐 to chocolate 🍫 mousse (and we all know how I feel about chocolate mousse 💧 💧💧 ). When I was leaving, I asked the young girl who had helped me what her name was…. Yup…. you guessed it…her name was Lola. So, Thank you Lola! You saved the day! Your passion for, and knowledge of the delicacies, temporarily transported me to my home in Paris. Specifically to a petite patisserie on Avenue de Saxe in the 7th arrondissement. I was so enamoured with the chef’s artwork, I had to stop on the way home and sample one of the tarts (it’s missing from the photos). So, I moan. #Thankyouforreading I appreciate each and every one of you for taking the time to look at my photos and read my words as the mess continues to spill from my heart and soul.
