21 years ago today then Lt. Col Goldfein was shot down in hostile Serbia. Courageous men of the 55 SOS and Green berets launched a rescue. “Kubik, Hardy and Ellis immediately jumped out — knocking a case of water onto the ground — and ran to Goldfein, who ran toward them, and they met in the middle. Kubik ran past him and eyed the tree line, expecting more Serbs. The body-armored rescuers dog-piled on the unarmored Goldfein to protect him from stray bullets and began frantically shouting over the rotor noise, “Go, go, go!” The Pave Hawk lifted off, less than a minute after it first landed. The Serbs fired at the Pave Hawk, and the pilots had to maneuver radically to dodge the shots. At one point, Goldfein said, it banked up — and he began sliding out because he wasn’t strapped down. He grabbed onto a seat and held on for dear life. They landed at Tuzla and shut down while an MC-130 landed, ready to whisk Goldfein back to Aviano. Goldfein quickly thanked the crew and shook their hands, everybody slapped each other on the back. Then he was gone. August 26th 2012 I get tasked to have my platoon go into a village that hadn’t seen NATO forces for a very long time. The intel that I gathered led me to discover that the village was being used as an enemy stronghold and they roamed freely during the day. I’m not going to get into the politics of war in this post, but I’ll just say that my recommendation was disregarded... Fast forward we’re on the ground and things immediately kick off on a bad note; aerial surveillance identified a spotter in the village...We continue to push forward and reach our dismount point. Switching to travel on foot, we push into the village where I encounter the next unusual occurrence, a group of children who would not come to me when I offered them some of the snacks that I always carried on patrol. Instead, the group of children waived for me to come to them, I ignore their gestures. We continue moving forward and then, as if things couldn’t get worse, we get a call that our surveillance is going down due to bad weather. A very eery feeling comes over everyone as we knew this significantly increased the chance of us being ambushed. I reach the entrance of the village with the lead element and we come across a Y-Junction where an odd situation begins to rapidly unfold. At the left fork we noticed a large group of people being ushered away from us and at the right fork was a small gathering of people waving for me to come over to them. I direct a group of my men to set up a machine gun team to cover down the right fork while I take a team to investigate the fleeing mass of people. I took off with my team fully expecting to get into a firefight...I was wrong, instead an enemy Soldier was hiding behind a wall amongst the people at the right fork; amongst the same people who had just waved me over to them several minutes before. This enemy Soldier popped out from behind the wall and let off a long spray of bullets from his AK-47. Dear friends! As some of you might have already heard, a massive police raid took place at RAF25 last Saturday. Several law enforcement agencies combined efforts to organise one of the largest illegal operations the local scene have seen in recent years. There were threats, insults, destroyed and damaged property, i.e. all sorts of human rights violations. After they left, the show went on and most artists from the original Deprave x Monasterio lineup got to perform, although to a somewhat smaller crowd. Caption @forry4star “I’ve had a lot of people ask me about the ATV/IED incident since listening to our Podcast. It’s not a story I shared with a lot people. It was going to be an 8-day overt overwatch mission. Our job was to provide battlefield commentary and, if required, surgical fire support to the combat teams that were clearing Mirabad Valley in order to secure a location for a new FOB. Mirabad Valley was a known hot spot and safe haven for the Taliban. It was always joked that if you ever wanted to get in a fight, head north past the 80 (pronounced “Eight Zero”) Northing map grid line. We inserted right on last light via the work horse of the Afghan campaign, the CH47 Chinook Helicopter. The plan was to get the ATV as close to our OP as possible. This was before we were all issued high speed, low drag, dual NODs, so I was riding with a single NVG. Anyone who’s ever walked further than 5m with a single NVG can relate too how much it throws out your depth perception. Now fast forward to an ATV, heavily loaded with 8 days of water, rations guns and ammo, and you can start to appreciate the situation I was in. I was negotiating extremely rough terrain when I briefly felt the front of the bike get extremely light. Before I knew it, I was on my back and the ATV was rolling over the top of me. The impact was hard enough to split my face open, just above my left eye socket, and snap my Soldiers Personal Radio (SPR) in half. I remembered regaining consciousness, with one of the Dutch Snipers anxiously asking me if I was okay. I was kind of still out of it when I asked him what happened, he answered in a hilariously, high pitched Freaky deaky Dutch accent “You just rolled the fucken bike man!” I remember laughing but he couldn’t find the funny side of it, I guess. I was in a fair bit of pain, but nothing I felt was worthy of getting casevaced. This was going to be the biggest air mobile operation of Australian troops since Vietnam, if you think I was going to miss witnessing that because I was a terrible rider then you’d be very much mistaken, We recovered the ATV and cracked on with the insertion to get eyes on The Valley.” - continues in comments - @swiss.8 on Instagram

Sesuai protap satuan semua prajurit yang baru masuk wajib melaksanakan tradisi penjemputan, Diawali dengan pemanasan seluruh pelaku penjemputan bersiap-siap melaksanakan tradisi, dalam pelaksanaan nya Komandan Batalyon Infanteri Yonif R 303/SSM Kostrad, Mayor Inf Mohammad Sujoko dan Wadanyon Mayor Inf Nova Hardana Dwi satya mendampingi langsung kegiatan tersebut.
