The „ Spiegel Lamp“ featured here in the entrance hall at the Spiegel Publishing House in Hamburg in 1969. The designing of Spiegel Publishing Headquarters in Hamburg is one of Verner’s most important interior projects. For the renowned news magazine, which moved into its new modernistic building in 1969 located on the Ost-West Strasse in Hamburg, Panton designed the entrance area with courtyard and foyer, the lobby, the dining hall including a bar, the swimming pool in the building’s basement for employees, the room for editorial staff conferences plus a lobby-like waiting area, as well as the colour concept for the hallways of the administrative and editorial office building. One of the most important design elements here was again the colour scheme, which contributed significantly to Pantons typical fusion of spatial dimensions. Apart from the furniture, he used his own designs (lamps, textiles, wall coverings) for the furnishing of the rooms. Of particular importance here is the “Spiegel lamp” specially developed for this commission, which was used to clad walls and ceilings. In 2011 the publishing house moved to a new building in Hamburg’s Hafencity, the snack bar was installed in the new building. It is illuminated at night and is visible from the outside through the glass façade. The dining hall, which has been listed as historically significant since the end of 1998, was donated to the city of Hamburg and moved to the @mkg.hamburg . Configurando um controlador no Ableton Live!⠀ ⠀ Uma das aplicações mais úteis em um controlador é integrar um sistema de produção musical. Um dos softwares mais utilizados atualmente, devido a seu poder, sua flexibilidade e utilização amigável é o Ableton Live. ⠀ ⠀ Vamos falar um pouco sobre como podemos integrar controladores a ele e como isso pode auxiliar nossa vida na hora da criação musical. Vamos por partes e com calma, ok?⠀ ⠀ 1⃣ O objetivo é configurar os principais controles virtuais do software de maneira que eles obedeçam aos botões, Sliders e knobs físicos do controlador, possibilitando um controle muito mais ágil dos parâmetros de edição e gravação. Além de abrir novas possibilidades criativas, pois com controles físicos interagimos com diversos comandos ao mesmo tempo, o que é impossível de fazer usando apenas o mouse. ⠀ ⠀ 2⃣ Normalmente o Ableton Live já possui pré-instalado o mapeamento para muitos dos controladores existentes no mercado. Dessa forma é bastante simples de configurarmos nosso controlador.⠀ ⠀ 3⃣ Abra a janela de Preferências do Ableton Live. Essa janela é acessada pelo menu Options, existente na barra de cabeçalho ou pelo atalho Ctrl + , (apertando a tecla Ctrl e a tecla vírgula juntos). #jonsstudiogear #4 Of all my synths, probably the one I use the most is the Juno 6. It’s quite a basic synth - very simple to use - but just has a great round fundamental tone to it that works in a range of contexts & makes it a very versatile instrument. It’s one of those sounds that just sits really well in a mix. I first used a Juno back when I was studying at @nftsfilmtv in 07/08. I found that the school had a battered old Juno 106. It was faulty, with various problems, but still made some great sounds & I set it up in my cabin on the school site to experiment with. It became a fundamental element of one of my graduation projects - the score for director Tom Green’s short film ‘Kid’ (after film school Tom went straight on to being lead director on the E4 series ‘Misfits’). I tried to buy that synth off the school, but the school technician wouldn’t let me (he did sell me the school’s Roland D550, but I never got on with that synth). A few years later, when I got the job scoring the #blackmirror episode “White Bear” & was searching for new electronic sounds, I decided to get hold of my own Juno. That was just before they surged in popularity (partly down to prominent use by artists like #nilsfrahm & @olafurarnalds) & I picked up a supposedly fully serviced “excellent condition” 106 for £500. The 106 is a notoriously problematic synth for faulty voice chips & sure enough mine had continual issues. It was an important element of that Black Mirror score though. Eventually, when I began scoring The Feed, I decided to replace the 106 with a Juno 6. The 6 is a much more reliable synth & with a better tone (less harsh) so this worked very well & it became a key element of that score. I’ve also used it extensively in my music for @rainbow6game_us. I nearly always run the Juno through a pair of @strymonengineering pedals (Timeline & Big Sky), which makes some great sounds. A week from today I’ll be playing my first-ever live #audition! As a #yangqin player coming up in the US and UK , I wasn’t able to join orchestras, summer festivals or conservatories to develop my skills as a #musician. Because I play a non-western instrument, I simply wasn’t eligible for the vast majority of schools and programmes. So I’ve been finding my own way, zigzagging across genres and piecing together a career - cherishing every collaboration, every mentor, every listener - and it’s been amazing. I wouldn’t have it any other way. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t times I wish I could have the experience of going to a summer festival, or attending a #conservatory with musicians just like me. So when I found out I made it to the live audition round of the @citymusicfoundation artist development programme, I was really excited and grateful .. just to know I could experience an audition process! Preparing has been really fun and has pushed me to practice harder than I have in a while. Regardless of the outcome, I’m grateful for getting to live out this little audition fantasy and exercising my yangqin muscles along the way. thank yall so much for all of the support you show me. Mein #mylamelloproject ist fertig! Eine Werkzeugwand und French-Cleat alternative realisiert mit den Lamello Cabineo verbindern. Ziel war es eine schöne und schlichte Werkszeugwand zu bauen. Wichtig war dabei auch, dass man diese nach bedarf erweitern und umorganisieren kann. Als ich den Cabineo gesehen habe, war mir klar, damit wird es perfekt funktionieren. Und so war es dann auch! Besonderes Highlight ist, dass die Verbinder auf der Untersteite eingesetzt und somit unsichtbar sind. Ein echter Hingucker in der Werkstatt. Ich markiere @tom_tuhl der, genau wie ich, für dieses Projekt brennt und mich mit Beratung und Kritik wunderbar unterstützt hat. Vielen Dank Tom! Die ist also mein offizieller Beitrag zur Challenge. THE PILL AS A TREMOLO 2 ...or actually an envelope follower! With a “normal” trigger gain setting (3rd knob), one bass note fed into the trigger input of The Pill produces one trigger. When trigger gain is set “too” low, The Pill is fast enough to detect the low frequency waves of a low bass note. I had been thinking of buying a Marimba One for a long time. I have always liked them, and their sound is undoubtedly excellent. A few months ago I decided and ordered a Marimba One Izzy with classic resonators, enhanced keyboard, and wood frames (along with the cases). Luckily my marimba arrived at my house yesterday. The first thing that caught my attention is how perfectly packaged they sent it to me, they did not skimp on anything so that my marimba could reach my house in the best possible way. It also came perfectly stored in the cases, which are comfortable, light, and very easy to handle! The next thing that caught my attention was the ease of ensemble it. Then followed the colors of the resonators, frames, bars…. I honestly think it is the most beautiful marimba I have ever seen!! And to finish, I leave the best, the sound. I was sure it would sound great, but I couldnt have guessed how good. From the first moment, it resonates and fills my room with a warm and pleasant sound. recording sufjan steven’s “the bqe” at legacy studio a509. this was the first time i engineered a session like this and i remember being as stressed as possible 😂 small string section, horns and woodwinds, piano, celeste, a good amount of percussion, drums, electric bass and electric guitar. we tried using one capsule of an @akgaudio c24 for the center decca and two vintage @telefunken_mics elam251e (courtesy of @je.ff.ki.rby ) for the sides, but we got too much rf sadly so we wound up going with @neumann.berlin km130s instead + a @royerlabs sf24 and b&k wides. - @ootermindstudiopics on Instagram
