So these ones come from the day my sitemate, Emma, and I took a little daytrip with our friends Foudou and Fousseni, about 2 hours north of our village, Chabi Couma. I loved travel in Benin because the usual, more affordable means of transportation was usually on the back of a bush taxi or motorcycle (talk about a hip opener... 😶). Driving back, there was this beautiful Pride-Rock-looking, mountainous hill, so we decided to pull over and climb it ✊ Took some pics along the way to capture it all 😊 One of my pals @createbetternormals, asked if I did much hiking while in Benin (actually this whole caption was originally a response to Verse on FB 😂). To answer, I spent quite a bit of time on nature walks in the wild land behind my house (the brosse (pronounced bruce)). Many of my memories in those cashew fields were some of my most poignant moments of clarity and reflection (maybe Ill post more about that another time 🐒). So yeah, Benin is an awesome place for hiking or trail-running. The Earth, the mountains, and the occasional waterfall were all so spacious and alive to me -- offering me a chance to center myself, relax, and connect to what matters most 💚💚💚 - @bchristopherfrancis on Instagram

Last minute adventures I think are my favourite adventures. For starters I suck at planning anything and I also don’t like waiting for thing either. В первый час я думал, что умру!🤣 ⠀ Честно... ⠀ Я не готовился. Совместное восхождение на гору Оштен⛰🍃 предложил человек, встреча с которым была для меня важна. В 20:00 принимаю предложение, в 4:00 устаю и в 8:00 уже началось наше восхождение. ⠀ В первый час было тяжело: много мыслей: Куда? Зачем тебе это надо..? ⠀ В итоге мы 5,5 часов поднимались до вершины и еще 3,5 спускались. ⠀ 17 км весь путь. ⠀ Местами было нелегко: при этом много проецировал на жизненные ситуации, на бизнес. ⠀ ✔ Идя по краю с таким огромным склоном, ты понимаешь, что если ты делаешь один неверный шаг, то это смерть... ⠀ Поднявшись на вершину, помедитировали, покапался в себе, увидел страх смерти, страх неверного шага... ⠀ ➡️В конечном итоге, после вершины спускаешься совершенно другим человеком. Первое: вообще теперь не боишься спускаться по тому же склону. Абсолютно чистая голова. Никакого страха смерти и страха оступиться! ⠀ Спустился другим человеком. Очень рекомендую. Por su calidad, que es excelsa, única, pura. El mundo ibérico de referencia yace en Alburquerque, Extremadura. Gracias a Manuel Maldonado, mi mentor y al que tengo una gran admiración por su manera de cuidar la tierra y sus animales. Las raíces no solamente crecen donde uno nace, también crecen donde uno se siente en casa, en familia, o uno mismo. Eso es Extremadura para mí. Y mi deseo es que la conozca más gente por la calidad de sus productos, por su elaboración y su cuidado del ecositema. A few years back I started a birthday tradition. On my birthday, I write down a list of words I want to claim for myself for the year until my next birthday when I make a new list. Some of the them are words I know to be true of myself, some are things I want to be more present in my every day self, some are things that exist on the other side of what Im struggling with, some are sort of ordinary, some are deeply important to me. I usually read them daily, most times out loud. Frequently I write them out as I am sentences and paragraphs instead of single words. I do this for a few weeks until I can almost recite them by heart, and then I think about them often, and then I think about them less often, and then its my birthday again and I cant always remember whats on the list. So I pull it out and read what I wanted for myself from the previous year. It is always interesting to me, even when I am not constantly thinking about the words or when I cant even remember what I wrote down, how many of those words have become more part of who I am and more present in every day of my life, and I always notice what has come about in life that seems directly related to what those words meant to me when I wrote them. Im making a list for this year, of course. Last year I also chose a quote (its a poem actually) that described exactly the human I feel like I am at my best and truest and most unhindered self, and the human I want to be more of and more of until the day I no longer walk this earth. This year Im keeping the poem and making a new list. The new list I write always carries over a few things from the last one that still speak to me for one reason or another. This has become my favorite birthday tradition. Im turning 30, which feels like I need this list to be ULTIMATE, because milestone birthdays and all that, but the words that came to me this year were fewer, simpler, and that feels exactly right. - @alyssa.elbridge on Instagram

La mente nos engaña constantemente con deseos a los que condicionamos nuestra felicidad y esa viva ilusión es muy real durante un tiempo, hasta, y si es que, conseguimos hacerlos realidad. Nuestro insaciable ego que necesita variedad y constantemente salta de un objeto de deseo a otro, pronto empieza a mirar hacia otro lado en su irrefrenable adicción a las sensaciones para activar los circuitos de recompensa del cerebro que pronto decaen ante lo monótono. Antes de emprender un nuevo proyecto es bueno preguntarse para qué, de dónde surge ese interés, necesidad o apetencia. Qué sentido tiene. Y estar atentos porque ese ego es muy listo y experimentado. La felicidad verdadera, estable y perdurable, nunca está en nada fuera de nosotros mismos, sino en la paz interior.
