Do Castelo que convém a Lisboa Francisco de Holanda (1517-1584), foi um escritor, desenhador e um teórico da arte português, remetendo o seu apelido para nacionalidade de seu pai António d’Holanda, retratista e iluminador régio. Devido a um talento precoce e a uma posição de relevância na corte de D. João III, aos 20 anos foi enviado pelo monarca a Itália, para «ver e desenhar as fortalezas e obras mais insignes e ilustres dela». O impacto desta estadia, marcada pela imersão no pleno renascimento italiano, contacto com artistas como Miguel Ângelo e influência da cultura humanista irá refletir-se para sempre nas suas obras. Com a morte de D. João III, Holanda tenta manter-se relevante numa nova e jovem corte real e assim, em 1571, dedicava a obra “Da Fábrica que falece à cidade de Lisboa”, «Ao muyto Serenissimo e Christianissimo Rey D. Sebastião». Neste tratado de arquitetura e urbanismo, apresenta ideias, sugestões e obras, uma visão para a cidade de Lisboa. A maioria destes projetos não será materializada, como foi o caso de um novo castelo. Uma ideia essencial do livro é a defesa da cidade. Assim, a par de novas fortificações que abraçassem toda a cidade, El-Rei deveria mandar fazer uma fortaleza «fortíssima e inexpugnável em lugar do Castelo Velho». A ideia era construir uma gigantesca fortificação hexagonal, com 6 baluartes nos vértices, que englobaria as colinas do Castelo, da Graça e de S. Gens. No centro, no lugar do antigo castelo, estariam uns «Paços Fortes» de dimensão colossal. Seriam múltiplas fortalezas em uma só. Uma muralha exterior, de planta quadrada, com quatro torreões cilíndricos, em tijolo rebocado, rodeada por um fosso com água, protegia uma grande construção palaciana de planta semelhante. Dentro desta, uma outra fortaleza também quadrada, mas com torres hexagonais e, finalmente, tudo coroado por uma outra fortificação de planta hexagonal. À defesa, juntava-se o poder ofensivo dos múltiplos canhões que espreitavam pelos merlões e canhoneiras. Diego Riveras world-renowned Detroit Industry fresco cycle at the DIA embodies the spirit of Labor Day. Rivera conceived of the murals as a tribute to the citys manufacturing base and labor force of the 1930s. The fresco cycle begins on the east wall, where the origins of human life and technology are represented. Those themes are continued on the west wall, where the technologies of aviation and water are represented. The vertical panels on each side of the west entrance introduce the theme of the automobile industry through the representation of Power House No. 1, the energy source for the Rouge complex. Finally, the north and south walls are devoted to three sets of images: the representation of the races that shape North American culture and make up its workforce, the automobile industry and Detroits other industries. Rivera completed the twenty-seven panel work in 11 months, from April 1932 to March 1933. En una sociedad donde las personas se han acostumbrado a vivir de prisa sin prestar atención a todo aquello que los rodea, la arquitectura está ahí para aportar una solución a dicho problema, y es que la construcción de espacios, ayuda y contribuye a que por un instante todas aquellas personas que van de prisa, convivan, que encuentren un símbolo de unión, un claro ejemplo de lo antes dichos es La Torre Insignia o Torre Banobras, creación de arquitecto Mario Pani Darqui, la cual posee una altura de 127 metros y que; gracias a su construcción en una la zona inhóspita la cual revelaba falta de orden social, sirvió como un símbolo ya que el diseño realizado fue con el propósito de que transmitiera regeneración y una perspectiva hacia el progreso. Pero no solo sirvió como inspiración, sino que también se convirtió en un elemento clave en la arquitectura internacional, ya que, al edificarse en una zona de alta sismicidad, se aplicó en su construcción tecnología con amortiguadores sísmicos. Cuando peatonalizaron el centro de Sevilla, se decidió que era el momento de hacer «limpieza general» y restaurar los muros de la catedral. En la Calle Alemanes, conforme iban quitando la negra suciedad que cubría la catedral, fueron apareciendo unas extrañas inscripciones de color rojizo. Estas inscripciones son letras, símbolos, números y dibujos. También se visualizan nombres de personas al igual que en los grafitis que se hacen en la actualidad. Estas inscripciones se las llaman vítores. Anteriormente ya lo hacían los legionarios del imperio romano para decorar banderas y estandartes. El edificio #OttoWulff tiene muchas singularidades en su construcción: 📍 Fue construido sobre la llamada “Casa de la virreina vieja”, una importante residencia del siglo XVIII que fue adquirida por el virrey Joaquín del Pino y Rozas, en la que luego vivió su viuda. 📍 Su nombre actual se debe al empresario Otto Wulf (o Wulff) quien, junto a Nicolás Mihanovich, financió su construcción. 📍 Iba a ser un edificio de viviendas pero, debido a la emergente demanda de oficinas, el programa cambió. 📍 En el 5º piso emergen sus dos torres, recubiertas con tejas de pizarra, que concluyen en copulines de cobre con las figuras de un sol y una corona. 📍 En su ornamentación conviven elementos vegetales con figuras de la fauna americana. 📌 Av. Citadella --------- A Gellért-hegyen már az ókorban is állt kelta oppidum. A török korban erődített palánkvár helyezkedett el a területen. Ezt az 1815-ben elkészült egyetemi csillagvizsgáló építkezésekor elbontották. Az 1848/49-es szabadságharc során az épület megrongálódott, helyére a ma is látható erőd épült. Jacob von Haynau, a véreskezű hóhér építtette, ami a pesti lakosság megfélemlítésére szolgált. Ezzel egyedülálló az erődök sorában, mert nem a várost és a benne lakókat védte, hanem az elnyomó Bach-rendszer állam berendezkedését és az osztrák elnyomást őrizte. A kiegyezés után katonai szerepe megszűnt, de a gyűlölt épületet pénzhiány miatt nem tudták elbontani. A második világháborúban, Budapest ostromakor volt az utolsó hadi szerepe. 🕰📜 ¿Qué sucedió en el entonces hospicio después de la Guerra de Independencia? Después del fallecimiento del obispo Cabañas, se asignó a Toribio González como sustituto temporal, pero más tarde falleció por una grave enfermedad. El canónigo José Miguel Gordova llegó para remplazarlo y hacerse cargo. El entonces gobernador de Jalisco realizó distintos esfuerzos, pero las tropas alojadas en el lugar no deseaban salir pues el sitio lo consideraban un lugar fuerte y seguro para los combates. El gobernador murió sin lograr la devolución del edificio y fue sustituido por Juan N. Cumplido, quien consiguió que el Hospicio fuera devuelto. A principios de 1828 comenzaron los trabajos para que volviera a ser un lugar habitable. Cities are hardened to death and disease. Six per cent of Chicago’s inhabitants died in the cholera pandemic of 1854; an outbreak in Hamburg in 1892 killed 8,600; the Great Plague claimed the lives of 100,000 Londoners — almost a quarter of the population — in 1665-66. Then there were fires, including the 14 that burnt most of wooden-built Oslo by 1624, and bombs, which destroyed two-thirds of Coventry’s city centre in 1940. After defeating the Illyrian Histri tribe, the Romans settled in the Istrian peninsula, turning Pula into an important administrative centre and building villas, amphitheaters, and temples. Marking the entry to the Old Town is the stately three-story Roman amphitheater, known as the Arena. Built during the first century AD, it is extremely well preserved, with the exterior ring still fully enclosed. The Arena was constructed during the reign of Emperor Vespasian at the same time as the iconic Colosseum in Rome.
